Public Comment: SLICK, UNDERHANDED and DECEPTION, TO RID RENT CONTROL IN LOS ANGELES CITY/COUNTY?

From ZumaDogg@Gmail.com Inbox:

PUBLIC COMMENT: To trust developers, and property owners to self regulate housing code and health and safety code would clearly frustrate the effectiveness of the housing code as a means to upgrade the quality of housing. (Schweiger, supra, 2 CAL.3d at p 512 quoting Edwards v. Habib, supra, 397 F2doo 700-701).

With BIG-BIG budget cuts on the near horizon, what will happen to the thousands of low income tenants living in LA when Rent Control is voted out of law because the provisions to change the law is hidden in a Ballot? WHATEVER HAPPENED TO TRANSPARENCY? Ballots that hide manipulate and violate public policy and trust, must be voted by City Council as illegal. Can I get a second to ban hidden agendas from City Council?

HIDDEN AGENDAS SCHEME: The dangerous measure, the California Property Owners and Farmland Protection Act, aka the 'Hidden Agendas Scheme,' is being financed by wealthy apartment and mobile-home park owners attempting to trick voters into thinking the measure is about eminent domain.

In truth, the landlords' scheme is nothing but a thinly-veiled attempt to eliminate rent control and renter protections. Why do elected officials' permit 'hidden AGENDA SCHEMES' designed to deceive and undermine the trust of the public? To permit hidden agenda schemes, is an act that transgresses the confines of trust, and we the citizens of Los Angeles view such transgression an an abuse of power which contravene public policy.

Federal auditors have called for the ouster of the Los Angeles County Housing Authority's director, saying his agency has not properly administered the $200 million federal housing voucher program for the county's poor and has sought to conceal its shortcomings.

The unusual recommendations come in a report this month that criticizes the authority for failing to check annually, as required, on tenants' eligibility for subsidies under the federal Section 8 program. Some recipients were receiving more money than they were entitled to, the auditors found. Click here for full article.
