Honorable Budget & Finance Committee of the City of Los Angeles:

Pursuant to California Government Code Section 54956.9(a), the City Attorney's Office wishes to meet in closed session to discuss the continued funding of outside counsel in the matter of the Estate of Christopher Wallace v. City of Los Angeles, CV02-0292. We ask that the matter be placed on the Budget and Finance Committee's closed session agenda for its meeting of January 28, 2008.

Continued defense of the Estate of Wallace v. City of Los Angeles, CV 02-02929 represented by Bird Marella Boxer Wolpert Nessim Drooks & Lincenberg (Bird Marella). The City Attorney's original request was for $1,200,000 which has since been revised based on a budget received from the law firm. The new request is for $800,000.
