LA City Clerk and City Attorney Need To Look Into Procedure of 2/27/08 Vote on Venice Beach Ordinance 42.15

Matt Dowd posted this comment that deserves the attention of a main thread because it involves a lawsuit against the city that may run into the $millions$:

Matt Dowd said...Can someone check this out:

During last Wednesday's 2/27/08 City Council meeting Jan Parry was President Pro-tem.

At the beginning of the meeting (35'00" on the tape) she mentions a request to continue Item 27 (Venice boardwalk repeal of Ordinance 42.15).

But...at 38.25 on that same tape, the item manages to make it onto the 'roll' and gets voted on anyway and passes with 10 ayes. (The clerk calls 27-35, and they exclude a couple of specials, but 27 stayed on the list.)

So is it voted, or continued??? This is important!

[Anyone reading happen to catch it? Maybe some folks want to go back and check the tape before things backfire?]
