LA Daily Blog NEWS WIRE for Monday March 10, 2008 (All The News That's Fit To Link)

Good morning Los Angeles! Here's are the stories that caught my interest from various news sources overnight. (We scan the internet, so you don't have to!)

Mayor Sam readers will especially like these two LA Times articles:

City Hall's own turf battle

Cardenas, Chick blame each other for political infighting that critics say has hindered L.A.'s anti-gang efforts.

Ruler of the house
Fabian "Knucklehead" Nuñez built a political machine that will live on in the Assembly.

LA CITY HALL UPDATE: Someone noted on the comment section of this blog that Councilmembers Jose Huizar, Eric "Garshady" Garcetti and Jancie Hahn all have new Chief of Staffs as we move the clocks one hour ahead. What's up with that? I hope these new Chief of Staffers are tested and ready to hit the ground running on day one. What's up with the trifecta turnover?>

ZD'S FINAL THOUGHT:
Zuma Dogg says you gotta pay attention to rising oil, gas, corn, wheat, gold, agro against the sinking dollar. This ain't gonna be a quick turnaround, and the economic shift hasn't even hit yet. High energy costs are gonna drive up the cost of EVERYTHING (food production, delivery, etc.) and business will have a tough time making ends meet. Gonna be one big street party! (But I don't wanna bum you out first thing Monday morning.) ZD predicts huge backlash against corn based ethanol (which drives up the cost of food and causes inflation) will start over all of this.
