FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Dispute Resolution Program, under the direction of the L.A. City Attorney and led by Avis Ridley-Thomas, will hold a meeting on Monday, August 25, 2008 at North Valley City Hall, 7747 Foothill Blvd, Tujunga at 4:30pm. The purpose of this meeting is to schedule further discussions between the community of Sunland-Tujunga and The Home Depot Corporation regarding their proposed and controversial store at 8040 Foothill Blvd.
This is a closed door meeting and the public is not being allowed to attend. The Sunland-Tujunga Alliance, the sponsors of the No Home Depot Campaign, has been notified that members and residents of the area plan to attend this meeting and will attempt to seek entry to observe the proceedings.
The DRP has threatened to have police on site to turn away anyone that was not invited to attend.
The DRP has hand selected unknown "community leaders" to represent Sunland-Tujunga in these discussions.
The Sunland-Tujunga Alliance is calling for all concerned residents to attend and to peacefully protest their possible exclusion from proceedings that directly affect their future.
