LA Times Memo Reveals Why They Suck!

Was scanning the LA City News blog and I caught this memo on the LA Observed website. (LA Observed is a neutered, fluff-ball, lap-pussy...but here is actually the first thing I ever saw on the site that I wanted to blog about. And of course, it AGAINST LA Times. (The only thing that loser can complain about while fraud, waste and abuse goes uncovered by Roderdick. But let's not besmirch the moment over what a joke LA Times is for patting themselves on the back for being slow to react losers. This more than anything reveals why unpaid bloggers are able to humiliate LAzy Times on a daily basis.

Subject: What a week [Should say, "What a weak"]

All Hands,

Kudos to Metro for a trio of terrific investigative pieces this week:

-- The Rocky story, which we carefully held, despite competitive pressures, in order to get enough information. Then, when we published, we had far more details than anyone else [EXCEPT IT WAS A SHALLOW PIECE THAT MISSES THE ACTUAL SIGNIFICANCE/SEE LA DAILY BLOG.];

-- Today's Las Encinas story, which shines a light on bad events at a well-known hospital;

-- And Paul Pringle's outstanding reporting on the machinations inside the S.E.I.U. local. Paul's stories resulted in the sudden leave of absence taken by the union local president, as detailed in today's story.

This work represents our highest calling -- to hold institutions and public servants accountable.

And these stories come as:

-- Our Olympic team continues to produce, around the clock, colorful stories, blogs, photos and graphics from Beijing and L.A.;

-- Our political group develops outstanding enterprise, one example of which is today's story by Steve Braun on the McCain and Obama tax plans;

-- As a Times Poll that was the first to show a newly tightened race was quickly quoted around the country;

-- As the Foreign and D.C. staffs stay on top of the Russia-Georgia conflict, which broke out suddenly on the opening day of the Olympics and involved reporting, some of it dangerous, from correspondents and a photographer on the scene and elsewhere.

As Lopez says -- all for 50 cents! [I know, it seems like an overpriced, rip-off for what you actually get.]

Great job by all.

John

[FILE THIS UNDER, "COMEDY SCRIPT."] Hey John, you know the problem, your newspaper does not match the voice of your readers. No one cares about your fluffy feel good save the world b.s.

THIS COMMENT SAYS IT ALL:

Good reporting Zuma Dogg, you did a better job than (some others) on the Leimert Park story.

And of course when this story gets reported on, by a San Francisco newspaper first, than they L.A. Times will do a copy and paste story.

And the L.A. Times will do the story indirectly as some human interest piece, probably from the standpoint of an OPS officer who got stuck with the assignment with little guidance on how to handle it, and how they were made to come back the second time to make it worse.

Oh, yeah, and it will have to be an "anonymous" officer, with a photo of the back of the guy's head, and this will come out after Council returns from vacation, so that the Times can clear it with all the Council members before printing it.

And THAT'S ONLY if there's no more crosswalk ribbon-cutting ceremonies or other crucial stories like that to set this on the back burner.

BUT CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STAFF AT LA TIMES FOR MAKING SURE THERE IS NOTHING ON THE FRONT PAGE THAT ACTUALLY AFFECTS ANYONE LOCALLY, YOU AIDING AND ABETTING A-HOLES! (You couldn't even beat the bloggers if you WANTED to, you lazy-asswhoopeds.)
