Re: Special Event Fee Waivers

HeyZuma---check this out from today's Council agenda....how is it possible that this qualifies for an event fee waiver???? good gosh!

08-2162 CD 8 g. MOTION (PARKS - PERRY) relative to declaring the University of Southern California 2008 Football Season on September 13, October 4, October 11, November 1, November 8 and November 29, 2008 a Special Event (fees and costs absorbed by the City = $16,718).

REMEMBER PEOPLE...ALL OF THESE SPECIAL EVENT FEE "WAIVERS" ONLY "WAVE" THE FEES FOR THE EVENT PROMOTERS: The money to pay for these "waivers" COME OUT OF THE GENERAL FUND!!!

WORD, on the realest, dough! EVERY DAY, TONS of these Special Event Fee Waivers roll through the agenda -- MANY OF WHICH DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE WAVIERS:

This is an abuse of power: It's litigious, insidious, insightful, not-rightful...it's tragical, not magical...it's precocious, ferocious -- it's Supercalifragalisticexpialidicous!!!

They wave all these fees for these shady non-profit events, take the money out of the general fund...then tell you they need to raise all your fees and create new and innovative tax schemes.

I don't feel like looking, but I SURE AS HELL HOPE THAT SUNSET JUNCTION event two weeks ago didn't blow through the agenda as a "Special Event" since they were charging a MANDATORY $20 fee to enter the event. (Special event fee waivers are ONLY for "open to the public, free events of community benefit" according to a City Council memo from 2001 obtained by ZumaTimes.com that blew the lid of this whole shady, corrupt, coffer-draining, community-cheating, Rico violation, RACKET!

TAKE BACK THE CITY!
