I've had enough Sarah Palin coverage on Mayor Sam's blog. If the blog returns to posting anything noteworthy regarding the City of Los Angeles, will someone let me know. (And linking to a newspaper story is of no value. You are supposed to go to blogs to read things you CANNOT read in the newspapers. If you are adding additional information, not in the article, then it's o.k., but take a look at the stories from this past week. I don't care if it is the RNC...what happened to the rest of the city, in between? And California is going to Barack, anyway...so this is a whole lot of media coverage in L.A. over something that ain't gonna change a thing!
GET BACK TO DOING WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING OVER AT MAYOR SAM. Quit worrying about boosting the blog ranker with national stories. Is the Google ad money worth throwing your entire focus under the bus?
RON KAYE WEIGHS IN ON NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL SYSTEM:
Zuma Dogg has said in his personal opinion, you gotta pull the plug on the NC system, because now it has become WORSE than just a neutered, fluff-ball, waste of time...BUT has been overtaken by Villaraioga's team, anyway. I mean, if you have Councilmember staffers sitting on the NC boards as President, what's the f-ing point. It's supposed to be an independent body.
And besides actual CM staffers infiltrating the NCs, Villar and CMs back candidates and so now you have NCs lifting up the fence and letting everything THEY want to make it through to council. But will reject anything Villar doesn't want.
I've seen it. There's that pompous Jackass in Marina Del Rey who is about as Democratic as Mao.
And now over this whole Form 700/Form 52 stuff, you have Ron Kaye posting on his blog yesterday, THIS:
"If I was a member of a neighborhood council, I'd be pushing for all 1,600 of my colleagues to resign over this outrage. What's the point of serving if City Hall is going to make it impossible every inch of the way.
But I'm not. I can only speak my mind. This is the moment those who are serving their communities need to make a bold stand. They need to say enough is enough, to tell these officials that if they want neighborhood councils, then they have to get out of the way, to stop undermining them. They need to present a list of demands instead of begging for favors."
- Ron Kaye
WE ARE BOTH SERIOUS IT APPEARS.
YOU CANNOT PLAY INTO THEIR CORRUPT SYSTEM!
And to all the good people who are fighting to reform the NC system and turn it into a real force that can make a difference...
FORGET IT! ZD would be pushing and fighting and spending my energy in this area if I felt it wasn't a 100% waste of time because here's the fundamental issue:
CITY HALL DOES NOT WANT ANY SPEED BUMPS GETTING IN THE WAY OF THEIR STEAMROLLER!
They are just putting you on a treadmill...and everyone can show up to meetings, and discuss things, then discuss the discussion, then blow hot air all around, then set up the next discussion...
THE CITY WILL ALWAYS HAVE ANOTHER SPEED BUMP, AND YOU WILL BURN OFF ANOTHER FIVE YEARS.
YOU HAVE NOT BROUGHT CITY HALL TO IT'S KNEES, YET.
And ZD's assessment of the situation, is the community does not have that organizational ability and or drive to accomplish this goal.
And you ain't gonna accomplish it when you keep feeding into it.
I agree with Ron, but the people will blow this one, too, as they sit home and watch this one on TV; eat popcorn; then discuss the outrage with each other one the phone and in email.
