Los Angeles City Council Approves Six Month Moratorium on Billboards

Today, the Los Angeles City Council approved a six month ordinance banning new billboards, like the Clear Channel (Flashing UFO) digital billboards, and other billboards.

The problem is, the City Attorney's office, under Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has turned a blind eye to all of these billboards, and allowed them to pop up all over the place, including many places in violation of the law.

So now, the problem has gotten so out of control, City Council puts a six month moratorium (allowing for two more, three month extentions) -- ONCE ALL THE BILLBOARDS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED.

CLASSIC LOS ANGELES CITY HALL UNDER MAYOR ANTONIO VIAGRAOSA: OF COURSE WHEN YOU ARE TAKING MONEY FROM THE BILLBOARD COMPANIES YOU ARE GOING TO PLAY THE "STEVIE WONDER"ROUTINE AND PRETEND YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING.

So how about an amendment to the moritorium, where the city hires a non-profit group to simply go around the city and tear down all the illegal billboards that the city allowed in violation of zoning and charter law.

How much did Jack Weiss (Candidate for L.A. City Attorney have to do with allowing this billboard situation to get out of control? Now, he has to pretend like he is doing something about it, since he is running for City Attorney.)

WE CANNOT ALLOW JACK WEISS TO BECOME CITY ATTORNEY. This issue should be a reminder as to how important it is to get the word out to the community to support NOEL Weiss for City Attorney. NOEL WEISS, as in the Christmas spirit. Not Jack Weiss, as in "Jackass in a Box."

Noel Weiss, Candidate for City Attorney has personally discussed this issue with ZD as an example of a weak and shady City Attorney's office. IF THERE IS ONE RACE YOU NEED TO ALERT THE REGISTERED VOTERS OF LOS ANGELES OVER, IT IS THE CITY ATTORNEY'S RACE, AND MAKE SURE YOU CLARIFY -- NOEL Weiss, not Jackass Weiss.
