"Zuma Dogg For Mayor" Signature Count = 860

SIGNATURE COUNT: For those keeping track, Zuma Dogg has 860 signatures on his nomination petition for Office of Mayor in the March 2009 Los Angeles General Election. Still have Monday and Tuesday to keep getting as many as possible. You never know what can happen regarding the verification process, but the 860 is a count of "good" signatures (with the Santa Monica, Glendale, Culver City, West Hollywood, etc. crossed out.) So I should be turning in around the full 1000 signatures, in which 500 will have to verify.

I SHOULD WRITE A BOOK: WOW, did ZD get an earful and learn a lot by talking and listening to thousands of people this past month, while getting signatures. If I have 860 signatures, I've probably spoken to at least two or three times more people who DIDN'T sign...PLUS, the other people AROUND/WITH the person I am talking to. MORE ON THE STREET FEEDBACK once I get all the petitons turned in.

PAYPAL ALERT: I'm starting Monday from scratch again ($0.00) after spending all my money this weekend getting signatures. So hit me up with $10 bucks if you can to get my Monday jump-started without having to lose the day. See link on upper right hand side of this blog.

ZUMA DOGG: Wall of YouTube Videos

A lot of people are checking out Zuma Dogg for the first time, with the added "mayoral candidate" press and added people that I have met on the street gathering signatures as part of the process. Here are some videos to help give you an idea of what "Zuma Dogg" is all about.

Ace Smith...Don't Unleash The Zuma Dogg on Thanksgiving You Inept, Dumb Loser

Alright, is Ace Smith, the dumb, not too sharp, political operative who brought you Mayor Antonio Viagraosa, is trying to save his much-despised City Attorney candidate Jackass Weiss -- posting FAKE posts on other blogs in an attempt to rowl some people up against one of the other City Attorney candidates.

ACE SMITH...ZUMA DOGG IS ON TO YOU...I AM GOING TO END UP TURNING THIS AROUND...AND THIS WHOLE MESS IS GOING TO END UP DUMPING ALL OVER YOU AND ALL YOUR CANDIATES!!!

Sorry people...that's all I am going to say about this for now.

This is just a message to Ace...that he is no match for Zuma Dogg...and I know what is up...and you are going to regret that you ever got into this type of work.

You know Ace Smith, he's the political operative behind Mayor Antonio Villaraiogsa. Ace is the guy who comes up with denials for the mayor when he was rumored to be having an affair with Mirthala Salinas. Of course Ace's spinning didn't work, because the truth came out, and we all found out that Mr. Family Values Mayor Villaraigosa, threw his entire family under the bus, including his beautiful wife and kids -- OVER AN AFFAIR WITH A NEWS REPORTER HE WAS "WORKING WITH" ON A STORY. And he wrecked Mirthala's career, too. And now Villaraiogsa has lost the support of half the people who used to support him, over his lack of ability to control himself.

And now, Ace Smith is responsible for trying to overcome Jackass Weiss' image problem in the community. But that going to be a real problem when the story is released to the public on how these Clear Channel flashing billboards (fraudulent permits) will tie back to JACK Weiss, himself.

ALRIGHT ACE SMITH...YOU WANNA HAVE SOME FUN...LET'S HAVE SOME FUN.

AND TELL YOUR BOY ANTONIO TO KEEP HIS ZIPPER CLOSED BEFORE HE BREAKS UP ANY OTHER FAMILIES AND LIVES.

AND ACE...YOU BETTER CHECK YO SELF BEFORE YOU WRECK YO SELF. YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE PLAYING WITH, SON...BUT AS OF THIS MOMENT...I THINK YOU HAVE AN IDEA!

Go screw yourself Ace...Jackass and Viagraosa aren't your only clients, either.

Thanks To LA City Councilmember Jose Huizar For Flipping Zuma Dogg The Thanksgiving Bird!

HUIZAR'S OFFICE PRESENTS ZUMA DOGG WITH A THANKSGIVING TURKEY: Thanks to Paul, from City of Los Angeles Councilmember Jose Huizar's Office, for driving over to the Casa Princesa to present Zuma Dogg with his complimentary CD 14 constituent turkey that was the last one left from Huizar's Boyle Hts/El Sereno giveaway. Paul told me that everyone on the list had received their turkey, and ONE person didn't pick theirs up, so it went to Zuma Dogg, by default. So Huizar finally gets to flip Zuma Dogg the bird! And ZD don't eat turkey, y'all, so I gave the turkey to someone who really, really wanted it. ZD don't care about the turkey...only the photo op and the fact that ZD got one of those turkeys being given out, y'all.

LA Weekly Interviews Zuma Dogg & Mayor Sam's Blog "Zuma Dogg Marathon"

ZUMA DOGG MARATHON ON MAYOR SAM: It's a "Zuma Dogg Marathon" on Michael Higby's "Mayor Sam Blog". What this means is that Mayor Sam's blog will be featuring a Zuma Dogg YouTube video, once every hour on Thanksgiving between the hours of 12 noon and 9 pm. Here are the details.

Here are the Zuma Dogg YouTube archives sorted by "Date Added" including a lot of stuff you may not have seen, and clips from ZD's original public access comedy/variety show.

AND SPEAKING OF PUBLIC ACCESS...

LA WEEKLY INTERVIEWS ZUMA DOGG FOR FEATURE STORY ON THE END OF PUBLIC ACCESS: Thanks to Patrick Range McDonald from LA Weekly for showing up in chambers today to interview long-time Public Access superstar, Zuma Dogg on the end of public access. Look for the story in December. (Hopefully the December 11th issue.) Many of you know me for the past couple years from the City Council meetings, but I was already famous as hell in Los Angeles from my comedy/variety public access show. So if you are doing an article on "public access" of course you have to include Zuma Dogg in the feature.

AFTER ALL THE SUBSIDIES AND TAX BREAKS VILLARAIGOSA AND CITY COUNCIL HAVE GIVEN BILLIONAIRE ELI BROAD, RELATED CO (ONE OF THE BIGGEST DEVELOPERS IN THE WORLD) AND THE ROYAL ARAB EMIRATE FAMILY OF DUBAI...

NOW THEY WANT TO LEVY TAXES FOR THE GRAND AVENUE PROJECT BONDOGGLE-BAMBOOZLE!!!

I HOPE LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL COLLECTS THE $250,000 PER MONTH LATE FEES THAT RELATED CO AND THE ROYAL ARAB FAMILY OF DUBAI OWE STARTING IN DECEMBER!!!

It's bad enough this Grand Avenue Project is getting money earmarked for Emergency Housing and Shelter for Battered Women and their children...YES, FIRST PROP 1C MONEY FOR BATTERED WOMEN AND SHELTER GOES TO GRAND AVENUE PROJECT...NOW A NEW TAX BEING LEVIED...AND ALL THE OTHER TAX BREAKS AND INCREMENT MONEY FROM THE CRA.

I KNOW A BUNCH OF PEOPLE GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL IN THE AFTER-LIFE...

VILLARAIGOSA (that criminal-behaving, home-wrecking, reporter-screwing douchebag of a dummy city wrecker) and the Uber-Dummy LA City Council A-holes who voted YES. (Bill Rosendahl the only "NO!")

ITEM NO. (8)

07-0332
CD 9
EXEMPTION, HOUSING, COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
REPORT and ORDINANCE FIRST CONSIDERATION, relative to the formation of City of Los
Angeles Community Taxing District No. 2 (Grand Avenue Project) and authorizing the levy of special tax within the District.

Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR:

In its report dated October 8, 2008, the City Attorney recommends that Council approve the recommendations listed above relative to the formation of City of Los Angeles Community Taxing District No. 2 (Grand Avenue Project) and authorizing the levy of a special tax within the District. If adopted, the Ordinance would enable but not require the City to authorize additional actions in the future, which could assist in the development of the Grand Avenue Project.

MAYOR ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA...GOING DOWN IN HISTORY AS A DISGRACED CLOWN OF A DESPERATE MAN WHO BROKE UP HIS FAMILY, BROKE UP MIRTHALA'S CAREER AND BROKE UP THE CITY WITH HIS EGO, GREED AND STUPIDITY. AND THE SAD THING IS THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE TO LOS ANGELES. I THINK KARMA FORCES ARE GOING TO DAMAGE ANTONIO!

Emergency PayPal Donations Needed!!!

Welp, it's kinda everything I was hoping for as I plow ahead to get my name on the ballot. I got another 40 signatures today, but the day was cut short cause I was COMPLETELY out of gas. So I missed out on crucial time, this evening, as people are out getting groceries for Thanksgiving.

BUT WEDNESDAY, I HAVE SOME VERY IMPORTANT MEDIA INTERVIEWS DOWNTOWN...INCLUDING A PHOTO SHOOT FOR AN UPCOMING ARTICLE...

AND I NEED AT LEAST $10 TO MAKE IT DOWNTOWN FOR THE INTERVIEWS. (There are two media outlets that want to meet me tomorrow for interviews and pictures...and they want to "shadow" ZD throughout his day, as a signature gatherer.

SO PLEASE HELP ME MAKE IT DOWNTOWN ON WEDNESDAY, AND BE ABLE TO KEEP GATHERING SIGNATURES LATER IN THE DAY. I'm gonna keep gathering until I get 1000. (I have until December 3rd.)

HELP ME MAKE IT TO CITY HALL AND YOU WILL GET A KICK OUT OF THE RESULTS! Looks like it's gonna be the fun media event we were hoping for...as Villaraigosa and City Council can only sit back and watch it all un-fold.

City Council Finally Goes To Far By Calling For A Hiring Freeze of Police & Fire (As They Cram The City With Density and Illegal Criminals)

ZUMA DOGG SIGNATURE UPDATE: Zuma Dogg "Office of Mayor" petition signature count is about 650 as of today. I'll keep getting them through the week and weekend until I get as close to 1000 as possible. The deadline is December 3rd. (You can turn in 1000 signatures to get 500 qualifiers.) Most signatures should be pretty good, for the most-part, because I am getting them in upscale areas of the City. I know some people are having OTHERS gather the signatures, FOR THEM...but I like getting them myself, since it allows me to meet and talk to people and there's nothing like getting them yourself.

CITY COUNCIL POLICE AND FIRE HIRING FREEZE: What a bunch of stupid a-holes these Los Angeles City Councilmemebers are. HOW DARE they talk of a hiring freeze on police and firefighters. Forget about the tripling of the trash collection fees to pay for 1000 new cops that we haven't seen...HERE IS WHY YOU SHOULD SHOW UP AT CITY HALL AND BLAST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE CORRUPT CRIMINALS DURING PUBLIC COMMENT!:

We all know about the massively dangerous density frenzy that the City is on. YOU KNOW...they call it "smart growth" even though they admit they do not have the road infrastructure or mass transit. Well, if you have millions more people coming to the city, and you are building massive amounts of density housing projects....

THEN YOU HAVE TO KEEP HIRING POLICE AND FIRE TO KEEP UP WITH THE POPULATION BOOM, YOU BIG ASSHOLE-DUMMIES!!!

For all of the waste and perks and raises and lack of belt-tightening...YOU WANT TO CUT THE ONLY THING PROTECTING YOUR CONSTITUENTS FROM ANARCHY ON THE STREETS?!?!?!

IF YOU WANT TO CUT THE HIRING OF POLICE AND FIRE...YOU BETTER CUT ALL OF THE HIGH DENSITY HOUSING PROJECTS...cause the last thing you want to do is have millions of people flock to the area, without hiring the two most critical services of all.

THIS IS THE TYPE OF STRAW THAT WILL TRIGGER A HUGE WAVE OF BAD KARMA AGAINST COUNCIL AND VILLARAIGOSA!

I HOPE THEY ALL ARE IN NEED OF POLICE AND FIRE SERVICES AT THEIR HOMES -- AND NONE ARE AVAILABLE!!!

YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LINE YOU DUMB-ASS COUNCILMEMBERS. I DO THINK THIS WILL TRIGGER MASSIVE CONSTITUENT OUTRAGE. I DO THINK ALL COUNCILMEMBERS ARE GOING TO BE FORCED TO WALK AROUND THEIR OWN DISTRICTS WITH THEIR OWN PERSONAL SECURITY DETAIL BECAUSE THEY WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO WALK AMONG THEIR OWN PEOPLE. (Paid for out of their own pockets!)

I HOPE EACH AND EVERY COUNCILMEMBER HAS A MISERABLE HOLIDAY AND ENTIRE NEXT YEAR!

AS YOU THINK OF FREEZING THE TWO FRONT LINES OF PUBLIC SAFETY. WHY NOT CUT YOUR SALARIES AND BLOATED, INEFFICIENT STAFF OF INEPT LOSERS.

ZUMA DOGG For Mayor: Update for Monday November 24, 2008

MR KABC NOW MR. KGO:  "Beloved radio icon" Mark "Mr. KABC" Germain (also formerly of KFI and KTLK) is filling in for the next week and a half on KGO-710 in San Fransisco. I heard the show last night. It was great to hear him on the air, and the station came in perfectly clear on my radio. Check him out.

ZAPPER RESPONDS TO CITY COUNCIL MOTION PREVENTING BANKS FROM KICKING OUT RENTERS: Someone wanted me to post the story about City Council's motion preventing banks from kicking out renters. The person who asked me to post it was concerned about people getting kicked out of their homes over the holiday. But here are some good reasons brought to my attention by another ZAPPER (Zuma Action Plan Participant) on the other side of the issue. Basically, BANKS are not in business to be landlords. They just want to sell the property and get the money. Who do the tenants call to fix the sink? The bank isn't set up to hire plumbers. Who do you call to complain about all the other problems like fixing broken windows, electrical problems...the heater goes out? Banks are there to unload the property...and unfortunately they are not in the "management" business.  I guess the bank can hire a property manager for the short-run, but this isn't the business they are into. And with Feds taking over all of these banks, who even knows what is going on with the status of these properties?

ZUMA DOGG SIGNATURE UPDATE: After getting 100, or so on Saturday at the Van Nuys Fair and in Silverlake, Zuma Dogg had another good day of signature gathering for "Office of Mayor". Once again, thanks to Silverlake, who really continues to come through for Zuma Dogg. I'm finding a high percentage of people who are registered to vote; in the City of Los Angeles; AND are happy to take the time to sign someone's petition (as a democratic process). As opposed to the kind of people who are in the Costco-type parking lots who don't want to take time to stop licking their ice cream cone. (I HOPE THESE PEOPLE HAVE THEIR TRASH COLLECTION FEES TRIPLED.)

JOSE HUIZAR'S BOYLE HEIGHTS MARIACHI FESTIVAL: Zuma Dogg had a great time kicking off the day of signature gathering in Boyle Heights at the Jose Huizar Boyle Heights Mariachi Festival. There were hundreds (maybe a thousand) people at the Maricachi street festival. I quickly found out it wasn't exactly the best place to get signatures, cause most of the people I asked weren't registered to vote. Anyone who thinks you can chose to ignore or try and move the cultural trend in the City of Los Angeles AWAY from Spanish is not being realistic. I KNOW IT MUST BE FRUSTRATING FOR YOU. Meanwhile, I had a GREAT time at both Hispanic based events this weekend, enjoying the diversity. It was like taking a vacation without having to leave the City.

ZD & DZ: Thanks to Dennis Zine for stopping by Casa Princesa on Friday to film a show. We talked about a lot of things. One thing he said you may find interesting...I asked Zine if the actions to come out of the public safety committee meeting about Special Order 40 would have prevented Pedro Espinoza from getting out of jail, ZINE SAID, "YES!" So he claims the goal that's Jamiel's Law is trying to accomplish is being accomplished. We'll find out in January, when the first round of statistics come out, whether it's the situation, or not. ZD-DZ TV Coming soon to ZumaTube.com.

PAYPAL ALERT: IF YOU ARE READING THIS...PAYPAL NOW!!! PAYPAL NOW!!!  I gotta eat and get more signatures. If you wanna see the name "Zuma Dogg" on the ballot for mayor, I'm not asking people to bust your butt gather signatures, but help me be able to get them myself. All it takes is a little gas and food.

City Council Motion To Prevent Banks From Kicking Out Renters

Here's an important item someone emailed to Z.A.P. (Zuma's Action Plan) Headquarters and asked if I could post it. Not everyone agrees with this type of thing, but it's important -- and a lot of people do not like the idea of banks kicking people out of their homes (when they are up willing and able to continue paying rent) and then you have communities caving in.

MOTION PROTECTING TENANTS APPROVED - ASK MAYOR TO SIGN NOW.

Motion approved in LA Council

07-2438-S9

Garcetti

“In order to ensure that all tenants in foreclosed rental properties are protected from eviction by lenders, the Council should request the City Attorney to prepare and present an Ordinance amending the Los Angeles Municipal Code to restrict evictions of tenants in all foreclosed rental properties to be subject to the Rent Stabilization Ordinance.

I THEREFORE MOVE that the Council request the City Attorney, with the assistance of the Los Angeles Housing Department, to prepare and present an Ordinance amending the Los Angeles Municipal Code to restrict evictions of tenants in all foreclosed rental properties to be subject to the City's Rent Stabilization Ordinance.

PRESENTED BY

ERIC GARCETTI

Many of our friends and neighbors are being evicted, even though they were never late in paying their rent. The owners lost the houses and the Banks are evicting the tenants. Many people must move out by midnight Nov. 30, 2008.

Please call the Mayor, or your Councilman to ask that the Mayor give our friends and neighbors the gift of being allowed to stay in their homes for another 90 days, during the holidays. This will give the Federal and State governments the the opportunity to protect the tenants who pay their bills, but cant find new facilities because they have children, dogs, or because they don’t have a ‘first month and last month” security, plus moving expenses.

The Mayor can sign the motion this week, if he wants to, that will give the evicted neighbors 90 days to help get their life order and find new accommodations.

BIG Day of Signature Gathering For Zuma Dogg in Van Nuys & Silverlake

Zuma Dogg, Candidate for Los Angeles Mayor, passes the 500 signature mark today on the nominating petitions. Of course, everyone knows, you need about 800-1000 signatures to get 500 "good" qualifying signatures.

SILVERLAKE FARMERS MARKET: I think Silverlake is the best place to gather signatures in the City, because I am finding a really high percentage of the people are registered to vote; and support the idea of someone running for office (from a "democratic" standpoint). Very diverse community. A real jewel of a community in Los Angeles. Today they had a Farmer's Market, and I got a bunch of signatures. You should check out the Farmer's Market of Saturday mornings, right on Sunset Blvd.

WOODLEY PARK FAIR: There was a HUGE "Children's Day" (kind of) fair at Woodley Park in Van Nuys. It was thrown by the City of Los Angeles and a lot of non-profits had booths set up, but the real attractions were the food and rides, just like with any fair. Rides were only a dollar, but food was "stadium" prices (everything double what it should have been). Fritz Coleman hosted with Los Lobos, George Lopez, Nancy "Bart Simpson" Cartwright and a bunch of TOP cartoon voices, among others ZD didn't see. But overall, there were about 5000 people (according to LAPD), and a mostly Hispanic crowd. The "Special Event Fee Waiver" on this will be H-U-G-E, but I think it is a money maker for the City. Hopefully, not a "shady" money maker. It was the first annual. If there is a second annual, CHECK IT OUT. It was the nicest "open to the public" event of it's kind that I have ever seen. (Eagle Rock Music Fest was great, too...but this was a great day-time event.)

JAMIEL'S LAW AT WOODLEY PARK: The Jamiel's Law petition gatherers got several hundred signatures, at Woodley Park, too!!! (ONE gatherer got 400 signatures ALONE!) AND THANKS TO KEVIN JAMES for letting Zuma Dogg make a last minute announcement about Jamiel's Law petition event at Woodley Park on Friday Night. One of the people who showed up to help gather signatures, heard ZD's announcement on Kevin's show, and alerted he to show up to help. (And Kevin will be especially happy to hear she was a Walter Moore supporter with Walter Moore buttons. And she was campaigning for Walter. SEE!!! ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY! (Sarcastic tone): ZD COULDN'T be happier he helped alert a Moore supporter, who showed up and campaigned for him. Maybe I can hold a charity fundraiser for Villaraiogsa, next!

TOTAL SIGNAUTRES=about 500: I got about 100 signatures on Saturday. (You can only get so many before you can't even go through the pitch one more time. Since I am the candidate, myself, people take a lot of time asking what you stand for, and you end up talking to people WAY to long, just for a petition signature. BUT that's what it takes, and there's no easy way for a guy like me, other than to continue to plow ahead. So I got the first 500...now it's off for the next 500!

PayPal Alert: Donations HAVE been coming in this week in small amounts. THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO HAS KICKED IN!!! I've been going through gas money faster than the CRA goes through tax increment money, and I'm down to my last few dollars this morning. If you haven't donated to ZD before, and would like to see "Zuma Dogg" on the ballot, please PayPal a little gas money. (Don't worry if you think the amount is small...ZD does A LOT on A LITTLE!) And if everyone PayPal'd the small amount they think is TOO small, it's A LOT to ZD!)

If you don't have PayPal account, you can still use a credit or debit card.

ABC 7 News San Fransisco Features ZUMA DOGG Busting Gavin Newsom

Newsom criticized for personal use of city SUV

"It is tempting to have the trappings of power, among them being security forces and an entourage," said Agnos. "I couldn't afford it. There were tough times, I had a city to put back together after an earthquake and I couldn't afford those kinds of celebrity trappings."

Mayor Agnos says he never used police escorts on trips to Los Angeles.

For comparison, one week after his wedding, Mayor Newsom was at a Malibu Starbucks with his new wife and political consultant Garry South, discussing a possible run for governor. It was caught on tape by Zuma Dogg, a local activist and entertainer.

Dogg (from videotape): "The feds are going to have to get involved, will you please do something, future governor, please?"

Along with Mayor Newsom, two different San Francisco police officers and a rented Yukon XL -- no hybrid this time -- parked in the red zone.

Dogg (from videotape): "Excuse me, it's Zuma Dogg from the scene of the crime where you got the San Francisco mayor, y'all he's got his Yukon gas guzzler parked in the fire lane zone, y'all."

After Zuma Dogg raises a fuss, Mayor Newsom's police escort moves the SUV.

Dogg (from videotape): "Thank you so much, Zuma Dogg gets things done."

Supervisor McGoldrick says the mayor should repay the cost of the police escort to his wedding and to his meeting with the consultant in Malibu.

"If it looks like and smells like and walks like and talks like a gubernatorial campaign stop, then the gubernatorial campaign funds should pay for it," said Supervisor McGoldrick.

Zuma Dogg, Candidate For L.A. Mayor UPDATE:

THANKS DOUG!: As you know, Doug Mcintyre of 790-KABC radio has triggered several early-morning ZD "cranky-attacks" when he talks about the mayoral election and complains that LA Times doesn't mention Walter Moore; meanwhile Doug doesn't mention that Zuma Dogg is running. I've tried to explain how it isn't "ZD vs Walter", but "ZD & Walter & Everyone Else vs Antonio". SO IT WAS GREAT TO HEAR Doug this morning mention Walter...AND David Hernandez and Zuma Dogg. Doug still LEADS with Walter being the one he supports...BUT AT LEAST TAGGED IT WITH ZD AND HERNANDEZ IS ALSO RUNNING. AND, Doug ran down the "All the other candidates vs Antonio" scenario. (The goal is for all the OTHER candidates to get 50% of the vote to prevent Antonio from getting the 51% he needs for a win.) AND..."Zuma Dogg For Mayor" is SUPPOSED to be an opportunity for the talk show hosts to have some fun with Zuma Dogg while raising awareness on the issues and how the City is under the attack of corrupt politicians at City Hall. But for now, thanks for mentioning the other guys, too, Doug!

ZUMA DOGG SIGNATURE UPDATE: Wednesday was another day of ZD pounding pavement and gathering signatures throughout the City. Have about 375-400. (Not all will verify, but it's a good amount for this date, so far.) Got a lot of signatures at City Hall in the morning. Then headed up Sunset Blvd and hopped out of the car when I would see a crowd of people sitting outside at a sidewalk cafe. (Sunset Junction area is good!) THEN, it was off the the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council for more signatures. I will be shooting for the full 1000 you can submit (to find 500 qualifiers). The good news, is I see I can get people signed up as long as I keep moving 10 hours a day. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY need someone to PayPal $10 or $15 today, cause I need gas and oil to carry on. BUT I FEEL GOOD THAT I WILL EASILY GET THE 1000 BEFORE THE DECEMBER 3rd DEADLINE AT THIS POINT! So please PayPal if you can, cause it looks like it will be worth it if you want to see "ZUMA DOGG" on the ballot.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING UPDATE: What a meeting yesterday over the Elelephants and the L.A. Zoo. One thing was clear...Cardenas obviously wants the sancutary in HIS DISTRICT. And LaBong obviously wants the money to stay in HIS district. I think it was probably the LOOOOOOOONGEST discussion and public debate that I have seen inside Council chambers. I have NEVER seen Tom LaBong get so fired up and passionate over something. I have NEVER seen so many public comments speakers. Garcetti said it was the most amount of cards he remembers in a long time. I wish the People of Los Angeles would spend a day like this on the schools or homeless or affordable housing!

MORE TO COME: A lot of stuff is being left un-blogged, as I'm out all day and evening getting signatures. I'll try to catch up.

Help Zuma Dogg Keep Momentum: Donate $5.00 on PayPal Today

I'm not complaining, cause I've been plowing along on signature gathering and attended the council meeting today, but again, I'm flat broke, ending another day with $0.00. I got 70 signatures today and hope to attend the council meeting on Wednesday and then hit the streets for more signatures. BUT, I REALLY WILL BE STUCK AND LOSE TIME UNLESS AT LEAST ONE PERSON PAYPALS ME FIVE BUCKS. FIVE BUCKS IS ALL IT WILL TAKE TO SPONSOR ZUMA DOGG FOR ONE DAY'S OF PUBLIC COMMENT. Now do what Mariah Carey said and "Make It Happen!"

If you don't have PayPal account, you can still use a credit or debit card. MAKE SURE TO HIT "Update Total" under "donation amount" box. (You'll see it.)

Zuma Dogg Gathers Another 70 Signatures Today

CITY COUNCIL RETURNS: After a week off, LA City Council returned, and there were a lot of important items on the agenda. Try and catch a replay on TV 35, or go to the LACity.org website and do a search for "Our Next Speaker Is Zuma-Dogg" under the Council meetings on demand.

CRA MONEY (FOR BLIGHT) GOING TO LEGAL FUND FOR SHADY PROJECT: On today's agenda was another one of those shady CRA (Community Robbing A-holes) "mixed-use" projects. First, let me remind you the CRA money is supposed to be used to "Redevelop" (hence the "R") the "Community" (hence the "C"). But you should call it the LDA: "L" for "Legal" and "D" for "Defense." Cause that's what (who knows how much of) the $3.6 million dollars on today's agenda will be used for. You see, the shady project (in Garcetti's district, of course) is a giant skyscraper in one of those "un-skyscraper" residential areas. A MASSIVE VIOLATION! And of course the CRA is being sued, due to the massive zoning violation. So let's funnel $3.6 to help pay for the legal defense. (THAT'S NOT BLIGHT Y'ALL!!!)

ZUMA DOGG GATHERS ANOTHER 70 SIGNATURES TODAY: Thanks so much to everyone who signed my petition Downtown today, around the City Hall area...especially in the food court area. BUT SUPER-SPECIAL THANKS to everyone in SILVERLAKE on Sunset Blvd in the Sunset Junction area. Almost everyone ZD approached on the sidewalk in front of the coffee shops and cafes were not only all registered in the City of L.A., but almost ALL were willing to sign a petition for someone wanting to run for mayor. (The sheer democratic process.) And what ZD found MOST interesting, is although these people were all willing to sign.

ZUMA DOGG FOR MAYOR SIGNATURE TOTAL: About 350...but they say you need about 1000 to get 500 good qualifying signatures. But the good news is, I see I can get these signatures myself, even though it's the "hard way."

WHAT'S WRONG WITH WALTER MOORE?: I understand that Walter Moore has sent out an email to his supporters informing them that he is not willing to take time off from his work to gather signatures; and OF COURSE doesn't want to cancel his out of state Thanksgiving vacation to get the signatures. So he is trying to put pressure on his supporters to do it for him. Guess he's too good to get out there with the real people of the City. He HAS heard about these people, and has read about them in his Ivy League textbooks. Walter says he's in a different league than Zuma Dogg. He is right. I'm in the league of someone who woke up, put my last three dollars in the gas tank to drive down to the council meeting and sat through the meeting to get my daily allotment of public comment time (including agenda items)...THEN walked all over the City trying to get MY OWN signatures, because I'm absolutely panic-stricken that I may not get them. But after getting 70 today, I feel a lot better that I'll be able to 'em.  Walter just doesn't get that saying he refuses to take time off work or cancel his vacation plans to get signatures for HIS OWN CAMPAIGN will rub his own supporters the wrong way. WILL SOMEONE TELL WALTER MOORE HE IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR, NOT KING.

Zuma Dogg, Candidate For Mayor, on Implementing Dr. Deming's 14 Points at Los Angeles City Hall

As Zuma Dogg is out on the streets, pounding pavement (I have holes in my shoes), talking to people as I gather signatures, one message that convinces people to sign my petition quickly is when I talk about the "Deming 14 Points" stuff.

Now, I don't harp too much on the fact that my plan to reduce bureaucracy inside City Hall through the implementation of Deming's 14 Points...however, I just break it down for them in actual specifics they can understand.

For example, they like, "The job of mayor is to help City workers do their best job by breaking down barriers between departments and reduce the bureaucracy. When you call 3-1-1, they keep you on hold WAY too long, then they bounce you to some email, or the wrong person, and you have to start all over again. THEN, they tell you it will take EIGHT MONTHS to send someone out to trim your tree."

My friend called 3-1-1 because tree branches were blocking the STOP sign -- at an LAUSD school crosswalk...and the constituent was told by the council office it would take EIGHT months.

Now before we talk about the EIGHT MONTHS to get your tree trimmed that is blocking a STOP sign at a school crosswalk...let's apply Deming's 14 points to 3-1-1.

Because, although it's not the most important thing...it's the first; most basic thing...cause it's many people's first experience with City Hall and the City of Los Angeles -- and you know what they say about first impressions.

So applying Deming's 14 Points to 3-1-1. Here's ZD's application:

The job of live human operators at 3-1-1 should not be to be a "robot dummy" saying, "Thank you for calling 3-1-1, how may I direct your call? THEN, to be asked for your Zip Code. The information may please the mayor, but delaying the call to ask market research questions annoys the caller; after being on hold for a while. THEN, they also ask if you would like to write down the number. So that is two un-necessary questions (that delays the process), right off the bat.

BUT, that is just a mere tangent of the issue.

THE REAL ISSUE HERE, is that the purpose of 3-1-1 operators should be to answer as much and as many questions of the constituent as possible and the goal should be to have the caller hanging up WITHOUT HAVING to be connected to anyone else.

YES PEOPLE...that is the goal of any service like 3-1-1. Not a starting place in which calls are routed and bounced all over the City, then into voice mail...but a service to try and end the call at the starting point.

It should be, "Thank you for calling 3-1-1, how may I help you?"

a) 3-1-1 operators already have the computers and LACity.org website at their disposal. Much of the information people are asking for can be found right on the City website, in the first place.
I am not suggesting you say, "That information is on the City website." But have the operators use the City website (and any additional information databases you can provide operators) to answer as many questions as possible...right off the bat -- and possibly preventing the person from having to be connected to another busy staffer.

b) If there is a question that the operator cannot answer based on the city website and additional information databases...the operator should be able to take the message for the appropriate Councilmember or City Department staffer AT THAT TIME.

c) If the constituent wants to leave more information than just name, number and brief message for someone to get back to them, if the operator could not handle the call, up front...send them straight to the Councilmember's/City Staffer's voice mail.

In other words, there is no need to;

1) call 3-1-1;
2) have the operator connect you to the Councilmember's Office;
3) only to eventually end up being sent to voice mail;
4) after having to re-tell their story to the Council staffer who picks up the phone.

So the 3-1-1 operators need to be trained and educated and empowered on how to answer any and all questions ON THE FRONT LINE/IN THE FIRST PLACE...but, if the caller needs to leave a voice mail, there is no reason to send them to a council staffer who will then only take the same message the council staffer would have taken -- or send them to voice mail, anyway.

WHY WASTE THE COUNCIL STAFFERS TIME, AND WHY IRRITATE THE CONSTITUENT/CALLER WITH ADDED LAYERS OF BUREAUCRACY???

MAYBE YOU THINK THIS IS A SMALL THING...AND IT IS...BUT IT'S A FUNDAMENTAL/BASIC THING THAT DEMONSTRATES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "AUTOMATIC PILOT" DUMMY BUREAUCRACY -- AND A CITY HALL OPERATING UNDER DEMING'S 14 POINTS.

And all the top experts in the City of Los Angeles already know about Deming, and they are probably thrilled at the thought of a mayor who embraces it. First thing, would be a meeting with all Department Heads and Commissioners and High Level Managers...to get everyone together and on the same page with the new way things are done under the 14 points...THEN, it would be a GIANT Citywide meeting for ALL City employees at Dodgers Stadium for the world's biggest training and empowerment seminar.

Deming's Four-Day seminar was called, "Methods for Management of Quality and Productivity."

ALERT: Planning & Land Management (PLUM) Meeting on Lincoln Heights Hillside Development TUESDAY at 2PM at City Hall!

LINCOLN HEIGHTS HILLSIDE PLUM MEETING: This is a big issue with people in both Shady-Reyes' CD 1 (Reyes') and Weezley-Huizar's CD 14 COuNcil districts. The City wants to limit homes to 1000 square feet on hillside property that people bought to build their "dream home" or even just a regular home. Can't build much of a home on 1000 square feet. Some people from the area, who are affected, feel the City is doing this to make the land useless to the current owners (who want to build), the value will drop, and then people will want to sell it back to the City at a low rate.

Whatever the situation, it all goes down Tuesday at 2pm in room 350 of City Hall, at 200 N. Spring Street. (Don't make "one wrong turn" or you may find yourself in the middle of skid row.)

So if you are heading to City Hall, and accidentally end up on Skid Row...turn right and look for the HUGE corruption factory in the skyline. THAT'S City Hall.

THE RETURN OF FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE/L.A. City Council: After one week off, Tuesday at 10:00am (or sometime shortly thereafter) it's the return of "Zuma Dogg, Public Comment" -- also know as the LA Shitty Clowncil meetings.

ABC-TV SAN FRAN TO FEATURE ZUMA DOGG's COVERAGE OF MAYOR GAVIN NEWSOME: Remember over the summer when ZD busted Gubernatorial hopeful, San Fran Mayor, Gavin (The Clown) Newsome? Well, parking in the fire lane wasn't the only thing about the trip to Startbuck's Malibu that was shady.

I'll post the story from the ABC/San Fran website on Thursday, after the story airs. (Maybe Zuma Dogg can run for Governor against Antonio and Gavin in 2010. If I win Mayor, I promise to immediately run for Governor!)

HELP ZD GET SIGNATURES...About 300, So Far: ZD has about 300 signatures on the nominating petitions for mayor of Los Angeles. But you can probably throw half of them in the toilet. So I think I will need 1000 to get the 500. If you know of any big meetings coming up, or work in an office where a bunch of people can sign...holla at ya boy (213-785-7272) or email Zuma@Mayor09.com and let me know where and when. It's not a given that I am going to get them, on my own.

Walter Moore Is A Big Crybaby In Daily News Because He Is "LUMPED IN" With Zuma Dogg

Here's a quote in today's Daily News from the angry mayoral candidate Walter Moore is is upset that he is "lumped together" with Zuma Dogg. But Walter had to attack me, not on my stance on the issues, but for my homelessness and appearance.

WALTER MOORE: "There are people (running) who should be wearing foil hats, and probably are," Moore said.

He lamented that most mainstream media ignore him and implored voters not to "lump me together with some guy who thinks he's an exorcist or some homeless guy who wears a ski cap and sunglasses. We are not in the same league."

HEY WALTER, screw you pal. I didn't see you inside City Hall ONCE over the past two and half years, you selfish asshole. Everyone reading this knows what I have been doing over the past two and half years. YOU DIDN'T DO SHIT, EXCEPT FOR YOURSELF. All YOU did Walter, was wait around for someone to get shot and killed, and when they did, you jumped on it like an ambulance chaser and created your (Fill In The Blank's) Law, that unfortunately turned out being called "Jamiel's Law."

I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DEBATE WALTER. FORGET THE OFFICIAL CITY DEBATE, CAUSE YOU KNOW I WON'T BE IN THAT ONE. YOU WANNA CHALLENGE ME ON MY HOMELESSNESS, WALTER?

I WANNA CHALLENGE YOU TO A DEBATE ON CITY ISSUES.

I want to know where Walter stands on something BESIDES Special Order 40!!!

EVEN HIS BIGGEST SUPPORTER DOUG MCINTYRE SAYS HE DOESN'T AGREE WITH WALTER ON EVERYTHING. So basically, he agrees with Special Order 40, and that's it.

WALTER IS A ONE NOTE POLITICIAN WHO HASN'T DONE A THING FOR ANYONE ELSE IN THE COMMUNITY BUT HIMSELF!

I decided to run for mayor after my experience at city hall as an advocate. He decided to run for mayor because he lost the past eight other times.

MY LIFE IS UPSIDE DOWN AND I'M A WRECK BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOP MYSELF FROM DOING EVERYTHING I COULD EACH DAY TO WARN THE PUBLIC AS TO WHAT LIES AHEAD WITH THIS SHADY CITY HALL. Spent hours on hold to get on the radio, all the time watitng for a minute or two of public comment time, all the time and minutes talking with people on their issues, all the time blogging...all the meetings. I FELT THE COMPELLING NEED TO GET THE WORD OUT AND ALERT THE MASSES. What did YOU do Walter..NADA!

But Walter is a desperate, desperate man, who has NEVER been to City Hall to stick up for people as Zuma Dogg has. He's using the death of a High School student to elevate his mayoral campaign (YOU DON'T NEED JAMIEL'S LAW....AT ALL!!! I SUPPORT THE SHAW'S SO I HAVENT' SAID ANYTHING BECAUSE I LOVE AND SUPPORT THE SHAW'S and they didn't know they were just being used by Walter as props at the time)...

BUT JAMIEL'S LAW IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT IT RAISED MASSIVE AWARENESS...

THAT IS THE TRUE VALUE OF JAMIEL'S LAW. AND THAT IS ONLY BECAUSE OF THE SHAW FAMILY, AS PEOPLE. THEY ARE THE ONE'S WHO GOT PEOPLE TO CARE.

IT NEVER WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THIS ATTENTION IF WALTER WAS OUT THERE PUSHING IT. NO ONE LIKES HIM. HE'S TOO COLD. HE'S NOT "OF" THE PEOPLE...HE IS "ABOVE" THE PEOPLE.

So Walter Moore wanted to get into a pissing match with Zuma Dogg. He should have read his Ivy League "campaign strategy" books. He just made a major mis-step, and now that he has let me know he wants to "go there"...

DO YOU THINK THERE IS ANYONE YOU HAVE EVER KNOWN IN YOUR LIFE WHO CAN GIVE WALTER THE "PUBLICITY" HE NEEDS BETTER THAN THE HOMELESS GUY WITH HAT AND GLASSES?!?!? Should be fun on TV 35 when I turn Mr. Moore into my comedy pinata! THE EMAIL BLASTS WON'T BE FUN EITHER, WALTER, you arrogant, shallow dummy. YES, I AM CALLING WALTER A DUMMY. I HAVE SPENT TIME CORRESPONDING WITH HIM ON ISSUES OVER THE PAST COUPLE YEARS.

I WASN'T GOING TO TAKE THIS APPROACH (Slamming Walter on TV 35 and elsewhere), but HE WANTS TO DO THIS! I feel it's unfair, cause Walter is no match for Zuma Dogg.

He may be "Ivy League" but he's pretty shallow in the common sense department. He BLEW the affordable housing (Prop B) ballot argument. Not caring enough to show up to City Hall was the first part. THEN, not being able to figure out the shadiness was the other part. BUT DON'T WORRY, I sent Walter what I came up with, so he was informed.

BUT HEY, I'M HOMELESS.

MONDAY MORNING (11/17/08) UPDATE: I was out all day (and evening) Saturday and Sunday, in many areas of the City, gathering signatures. I have about 300, so far, but I think I'll need 1000 to get 500 "good" ones. I DEFINITELY need PayPal donations to continue today and this week, cause I'm out of money, right now, and can't continue until some gas money come in. MEANWHILE, it's been an AMAZING and ENLIGHTENING experience being out there on the streets, talking to so many people, each day. And I end up talking to people who DON'T want to sign (because they like the mayor) and that gives me an opportunity to raise awareness on what a lousy and dangerous mayor he is. Lots of fun stories, and I'll blog about the feedback, and what "issues" people are responding most favorably to.

If you don't have paypal account, you can still use a credit or debit card. AND EVERYONE, MAKE SURE TO HIT "Update Total" under "donation amount" box.

Zuma Dogg Discovers #1 Most Popular Issue With Registered L.A. Voters

Zuma Dogg has been all over Los Angeles City gathering signatures the hard way, and I DO have holes on the bottom of both my shoes.

And after speaking with hundreds of people over the past couple days, I realized that you can't run on a "too much density" platform, cause a lot of people who I spoke with LIKE development.

SO HERE IS THE REPLY I GAVE DENISTY SUPPORTERS THAT GOT THEM TO AGREE ZD HAD A POINT.

ZD: You may be for building more housing in the city, but the problem is, the mayor has gone ALL LUXURY and all the condos are $500,000-$1,000,000 and no one can afford them and they are sitting vacant. Then they say, "Oh boo-hoo-hoo...we don't have any affordable housing."

So Zuma Dogg as mayor will fight for a moritorium on all housing over $500,000 and make sure to build REAL affordable housing for working residents in the $200,000-$500,000 max.

EVERYONE LIKES THAT ONE!

If the people agree that more housing needs to be built, then as mayor, Zuma Dogg will make sure it's no more of the million dollar luxury crap, but real affordable housing in the $200,000-$500,000 range as the new upper end.

NEXT: The City has to get serious about it's homeless problem. (Or as Pink Floyd once said, "How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat?")

"It's Zuma Dogg For Mayor" (Tune of "I Wanna Be Sedated" by Ramones)

From tonight's "Open Mic Night with Zuma Dogg at Casa Princesa in Eagle Rock.

"It's Zuma Dogg For Mayor" (to the tune of Ramones "I Wanna Be Sedated.")

FRIDAY NIGHT UPDATE: IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. As much as I like to think that I will be able to get the 500 signatures, I am 100% completely penniless and don't have gas money to go anywhere, let alone eat. I missed out on gathering signatures this evening. And with $0.00, as of now, I will be missing out on all day Saturday and no prospects for Sunday. So basically, I am 100% completely grounded. And if I miss out on a this nice weather Saturday...it's over. I know that makes Kevin James and Doug Mcintyre happy. THEY WIN...ZD doesn't have the gas money to gather his own signatures. Basically, no one rallied to PayPal gas money. People like ZD, but only as a fun, wind-up toy to watch on TV. Nothing worth rallying behind. (But you would probably like it if you turned on the City Council meeting and saw me battling it out with Council on behalf of the issues that affect you in your own backyard.)

CITIZENS' ALERT: PUBLIC ACCESS HEARING AT CITY HALL THIS TUESDAY

This Tuesday November 18th !!!

L A COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING PUBLIC ACCESS

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH 2 P.M.

LOCATION: CITY HALL ROOM 1010
PLEASE ATTEND: TELL THE COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & GENERAL SERVICES
HELP SAVE THE PUBLIC CABLE CHANNELS
IN THE CITY OF L.A.

ZD says, "NO CHANCE!" The city isn't going to save public access because they don't want the people to have a voice. But please stop by the whole-hearted, dog and pony show, fake-ass hearing and make them feel uncomfortable.

Dontate $5.00 or $10.00 To Zuma Dogg So I Can Get Signatures

I spoke with Ethics today. People can PayPal $5.00, $10.00, $20.00 (or any amount, actually) for ZD to eat on, and mostly for gas money, as I canvas the city for signatures to get my name on the ballot. It's going alright. No easy way, except to pound the pavement, which I am doing. And had a GREAT time, last night, gathering signatures on Sunset Strip in front of The Whiskey!

If you are reading this, $5 or $10 would really help, cause I need gas money to even get back to Eagle Rock for open mic night at Casa Princesa. (Stop by at 7pm if you feel like it. 4527 York Blvd.)

You don't have to enter your name or address or any info, and this doesn't count to the campaign. You are allowed to support me as an activist driving around getting signatures according to ethics. So please hit me up with a small amount if you can.

Thanks,
ZD

Zuma Dogg Update For Friday 11.14.08

CASA PRINCESA OPEN MIC w/ZUMA DOGG TONIGHT: Tonight at 7pm, it's another Open Mic LIVE event at Casa Princesa (4527 York Blvd. in Eagle Rock). If you want to chill with ZD and the locals with karaoke, acoustic guitar singers and whatnot, head on over to "The Dogg House."

ZD GETS FIRST 100 SIGNATURES: I need 500 signatures to get the name "Zuma Dogg" on the ballot and make Doug McIntyre cry cause it will hurt Walter (even though Doug is completely wrong and ZD will HELP Walter's chances. But an agendized crybaby talk show host is an agendized crybaby talk show host...so don't use logic with him.) But besides KABC's Doug Mcintyre degenerating into nothing but a wacko schill infomercial for Walter Moore, this is about ZD hitting the stride and figuring out the best ways to get the signatures.)

So just wanted to let everyone else know if the blogging is down, it's cause I'm pounding the pavement getting signatures around town. It's a GREAT experience and I'm learning SO much for the people I talk to. (THE BEST MARKET RESEARCH STUDY I HAVE EVER DONE!)

ZUMA DOGG ARTICLE IN "THE VOICE":

Thank you so much to Carlos Morales and the staff at "The Voice" for allowing me this opportunity to address the community in his newspaper.

Hopefully, many of you reading this recognize the name "Zuma Dogg" from frequent appearances at the L.A. City Council meetings (as broadcast on City TV 35), AM Talk Radio calls and blogging at LA Daily Blog.com.

For those wondering what brought me into City Hall and turned me into a "community advocate"; two and a half years ago my career took an unexpected turn, when I was forced to become an activist over LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s new Venice Beach ordinance that banned the sale of (constitutionally protected) items such as incense, jewelry and T-shirts -- like the ones that my friends and I were selling.

Once people saw me speaking on how shady the City was regarding Venice, people started asking me to speak a little about their own issues. And I quickly found out how frequently the community gets the short end of the stick under Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's City Hall.

During my time as a local public advocate, no area of the City has been a more vocal "squeaky wheel" than CD14 , much to the dismay of Councilmember Jose Huizar. (Followed closely by CD 1…much to the dismay of Councilmember Ed Reyes.)

Based on my email inbox, there is no question these districts are the most aware, active and tight-knit community in the City; with some of the best information being sent my way regarding the "tug-o-war" issues between the community and the City. (And yes, sometimes the "tug-o-war" between community members.)

And I would like to let all the readers of "The Voice" know that Carlos, his staff and network of community members have mentored and tutored Zuma Dogg on the inner workings of City Hall more than any one else in the City. Who knows, maybe I would still be a one-issue (Venice Beach) guy if it wasn't for the people in "The Voice" reading area.

So it's turned out to be an interesting relationship between the unwitting advocate from the west side (who had never even been to the area) and the people of CD 14 who were taking up more of my time as an activist than all the other areas of the city, combined.

Although the day-to-day grind of "fighting city hall" as a broke-ass activist is nothing glamorous...the feedback from people on the streets who let me know they appreciate the effort and are paying attention is the fuel that keeps me waking up and heading down to City Hall for "one more day of public comment" to blast City Council and the Mayor on all their wastefulness and community back-stabbing. (I've been going to City Hall for public comment for more than two and a half years...and EVERY day is my last day.)

But then I wake up, turn on the radio...look at the blogs...look at the news...I get cranky at what I am hearing...and I head down for "one more round of public comments."

And now, it is the first mayoral election since I have been an activist/advocate, or whatever you want to call it.

And the same force that compels me to wake up every day and do as much as I can to "fight city hall" and help "take back the city" has compelled me to head on over to the City Clerks Election Division and Ethics Commission to file the paperwork and qualified for nominating petitions.

As the deadline to file to run for mayor approached, the thought of missing out on the chance to place my name on the ballot made me nauseaus and cranky. I was getting sick at the thought of having to sit on the sidelines. And if I want to help "fix" the City and make City Council start representing the communities they live in, instead of their own "special interests and cronies," being Mayor would allow me to do much more to start doing things the peoples' way. (Voice of the Pueblos!)

So now, the only thing in the way of having "Zuma Dogg" on the March 3rd, 2009 ballot for "Mayor" in the LA City elections are 500, or so, signatures on the nominating petitions. The deadline is December 3rd, so I should be able to get them.

My "campaign headquarters" are not too far out of "The Voice" area...It's the new Casa Princesa Cafe in Eagle Rock, right on the border of Highland Park. The address is 4527 York Blvd., about 500 feet East of Eagle Rock Blvd.)

I'll be hosting Open Mic/Karaoke every FRIDAY NIGHT at 7 PM, and having a parking lot fair every SATURDAY MORNING at 10 AM. Stop by either day to sign the nominating petition. And Zuma Dogg's "99 Cent Toy Zone" (great low-prices toys that the kids love) will be set up both days, too, for the Holiday Season.

Thanks again to everyone from "The Voice" and everyone in CD 14 who I have met, or spoken with on the phone, or corresponded with via email (ZumaDogg@Mayor09.com).

So now, hopefully we can take it to the next level and help "Take Back The City" in March 2009.
