Urgent Message Regarding Water Crisis In Los Angeles and Southern California

For the past two years, Zuma Dogg has been warning Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaragiosa and Los Angeles City Council that due to drought conditions and Federal judge decisions (regarding polluted waters killing endangered fish, like smelt, in the Colorado River) the City of Los Angeles (via DWP and Metro Water) would be receiving MUCH LESS water than the city is used to. And this substantial reduction in supply would be causing water rates to double, triple, quadruple...with a "Mad Max" scenario playing out where water is the new oil. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE CITY CANNOT RESPONSIBLY ASSURE THE PUBLIC (CERTIFY) THAT THERE IS ENOUGH WATER TO FUEL (HYDRATE) ALL OF THESE HIGH DENSITY PROJECTS THAT VILLARAGIOSA & GARCETTI'S CITY COUNCIL ARE CRAMMING INTO EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY OF THE CITY.

So as with all of my major predictions, which turn into warnings on the blogs and before City Council, the most dangerous of all predictions/warnings is now before us. A MAJOR CRISIS REGARDING THE REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY AND RATES ARE ABOUT TO SKYROCKET AND I HAVE ZERO CONFIDENCE IN LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL IN THEIR ABILITY TO RESPONSIBLY ADDRESS THIS CRISIS, OR EVEN READ DR. DEMING'S 14 POINTS!

ZUMA DOGG CALLS NAHAI: After sitting through the agenda item where DWP General Manager H. David Nahai addressed the childish and clown-like City Council about the little old situation Zuma Dogg has been warning them of over the past two years to follow up on the unspoken and uncovered water crisis.

AM talk radio must be getting paid to keep their mouth shut about this, let alone urge water conservation measures as a plain and simple public service to the community. But it just is not possible to break from border enforcement talk, even for ONE DAY, in between the re-hashing of national issues heard everywhere else.

And before we get started, I want to state for the record, in the form of a question, "Has ANYONE in the city warned of this water issue more than I, or uttered the words, "NOT ENOUGH WATER TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR DENSITY" -- on the record before City Council more than anyone else? [Homey the Clown BOP on the head] I DON'T THINK SO!

SO ONCE AGAIN I'M PRETTY PISSED OFF THAT THOSE ETERNAL HELL-DWELLING DUMMIES WHO AREN'T THAT SMART (VILLARAIGOSA, GARCETTI, REYES, PERRY, ROSENDAHL, SMITH, ALARCON, GREUSOME GREUEL, PARKS, CARDENAS, ZINE, WESSON, (K)HAHN, WEISS, LABONG, HUIZAR) WAS 100% COMPLETEY CORRECT IN MY ASSESSMENT, WHILE YOU DUMMIES APPROVED A MILLION TRACT MAPS AND DIDN'T ALERT THE PUBLIC, START ANY REDUCTION EDUCATION CAMPAIGN IN THE MEDIA AND DIDN'T DO A THING, YOU HELLEN KELLER DUMMIES. (And YES, I have to include Grieg Smith in the pack of dummies even though he has never done a thing to negatively impact a damn thing, and nothing is ever his fault, and everything bad happened before he took office and up till now, everything was fine. And Dennis Zine, you've always been in the club. It's just that Smith finally has to shamelessly join the rest of you, clowns.

SO NOW, on to the details that came out of the conversation with DWP GM David Nahai:

ZUMA DOGG URGES IMMEDIATE WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES AND IT WILL TAKE A MASSIVE EDUCATION CAMPAIGN IN THE MEDIA TO SHIFT FUNDAMENTAL PUBLIC PERCEPTION:

SUMMARY: Due to drought conditions and Federal Judge conditions there is about to be a whole hell of a lot less water available to DWP. I won't bore you with statistics, but certain major sources, like the State of California will be reducing it's supply to DWP/Metro Water by 80%.

Now that is not ALL of the water available to DWP, but it is a majority of the supply. THERE WILL BE SUBSTANTIALLY LESS WATER AVAILABLE TO DWP, NO MATTER HOW YOU WANT TO SPIN IT, RATIONALIZE IT OR MINIMIZE IT.

SOLUTIONS: I though Mr. Nahai makes the point when he says, "People need to equate water with money.Water is not a free commodity. Just like you check gas milage and price per gallon to operate you vehicle, we need to think of water in the same way, because water is not free. Water going down the drain is your money going down the drain."

Some conservation measures include,

* not warming up your shower for too long (as you brush your teeth and get ready);

* not running the water when you brush your teeth;

* don't run the dish and clothes washer until you have a full load to wash;

* fix leaks, you lazy a-hole;

* switch to water efficient appliances;

* run appliances less.

ZD thinks water will become so expensive that families won't be taking showers EVERY DAY. And your dad will be yelling at you if you flush the toilet too much.

BUT, SINCE 40% of residentially-used water is used OUTDOORS:

THE BIGGEST THING (#1 WATER WASTING ISSUE) THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IS WATERING YOUR LAWN. YES, SPRINKLERS. THIS IS THE BIGGEST THING THAT NEEDS TO BE REDUCED. And trust me, that will be a luxury people like the Spelling Family will be able to afford, but not most of us. DO NOT WATER YOUR LAWN EVERY DAY. Mr. Nahai suggests two days a week. ALSO, DO NOT hose down your driveway and sidewalks, dummies! Because that's what you are, and a SELFISH DUMMY, at that, if you are doing this.

ZD says wasting water will have to be almost as socially unacceptable as wearing fur, or not using Facebook.

Mr. Nahai wanted to be clear, that if you are an average family, using water in an everyday, non-exssesive manner, you shouldn't even notice a difference in your rates.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN GET KICKED UP INTO THE HIGHER RATE, HOWEVER:

You know about the two tier system. Well, they are reducing the "upper level Tier 2" bar by 15%. So if you are currently in the lower priced tier and are only up to 84% of the tier, you won't be bumped to the higher rate. But if you are at the 85% or higher level (a B+ level user), you will get bumped to the higher tier.

And according to Nahai, "If you use too much water, you will have to pay a disproportonate fee."

Don't look for your water to be cut off though, unless you are a flagrant violator, like someone filling and draining their pool everyday, or a golf course that JUST doesn't stop..."YOU WILL GET A VERY EXTREME MEASURE OF A FINANCIAL JOLT," according to Nahai.

My time is up on this computer. More to come.
