Los Angeles Times (LA Times) on L.A. City Council Special Election (Residency an issue)

Same old "residency issue" of Krekorian and Essel.

GET OVER IT...IF ESSEL WAS A GREAT CANDIDATE WITH ALL THE ANSWERS WHO CARES IF SHE DRIVES IN FROM BEVERLY HILLS?

IF KREKORIAN WAS SOME BUDGET MASTER INSTEAD OF BUDGET BUSTER, WHO CARES IF HE IS DRIVING IN FROM BURBANK? IT'S CLOSER TO MOST OF THE DISTRICT THAN SUNLAND-TUJUNGA?

IT'S ABOUT CHARACTER AND THE CANDIDATE AND HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THEM. IF YOU KNEW THE CM WAS GOING TO DO EVERYTHING IN THE SPIRIT THAT YOU WANTED AND WAS SHARP AND STOOD UP...WOULD YOU CARE IF THEY WERE DRIVING IN FROM ORANGE COUNTY, EVERY DAY???

Don't turn this city council election into a high school student body election. Cause that's what it kind of feels like. LA Times has a chance to really cover this election, and it's the same tired out "carpetbagger issue" that is just a DUMB-CRYBABY issue that people use who's only claim to fame is where they went to high school.

I KNOW IT HELPS ME WHEN THE TIMES DOES AN ARTICLE ATTACKING ESSEL AND KREKORIAN, BECAUSE IT DRAGS THEM DOWN AND HELPS ME...BUT I'M ALSO ABOUT SPEAKING OUT ABOUT WHAT BUGS ME...AND THE REASON YOU DO NOT WANT TO VOTE FOR THOSE TWO ISN'T BECAUSE OF WHERE THEY GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. IT'S HOW THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT?

The two candidates with the most funding in the 2nd District City Council race are under fire for recently moving to the district. They dismiss the criticism. Read more

"Zuma Dogg has done a lot of good for the people of Los Angeles. He's a good man." - LA City Councilmember Dennis Zine"

Local legend, Zuma Dogg speaks the truth. He's on TV more than Regis Philbin." - Doug McIntyre/KABC radio

"Zuma Dogg is a good candidate. Zuma Dogg understands City Hall. Zuma Dogg is passionate. Zuma Dogg would be a good representative. It would be great to have the tenacity and bravery of Zuma Dogg in the horseshoe." - Kevin James/KRLA radio

"I think your synthesis is fabulous." - Anthony Robbins (on Zuma's "Quality and Productivity" thesis that was published internationally.)

"Zuma Dogg is not only one of the most recognizable figures at City Hall, cordially greeted by passersby, including security guards and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, he also has the ear of high-level insiders, who feed him information in the hope that he’ll expose, and possibly stop, one questionable government project or another. In his first years on the scene, he was quietly derided by insiders, including a gaggle of journalists who attend council meetings. His persistence, and now, even critics must admit, his growing expertise on city policy and city government, have changed all that. Masked avenger: Once derided, Zuma Dogg earned respect on public access TV.- LA WEEKLY

Zuma's real world work experience includes working as radio executive for top broadcast corporations in major market cities including Houston, D.C., New York City and Los Angeles.

Zuma was known as an innovative trailblazer specializing in "quality and productivity" and "results" and that's why he went from Columbus, Ohio to the Viacom Skyscraper on Times Square. The radio and record industy doesn't play around. It's a backstabbing, swimming with the sharks, dysfunctional environment -- just like City Hall...and ZUMA DOGG has always been tenatious and the same way he is now (innovative)...and sailed to the TOP of the RADIO AND RECORD WORLD!

And now, it seems to have translated at the political level. Someone just sent me an email today saying, "You're a genius, an artist and a civic treasure." AND, I WOULD EXPECT GOOD THINGS AS COUNCILMEMBER, TOO. I'VE NEVER BEEN ANYTHING BUT A PHENOMENON. And I'll have all the help I need from as many community members as want to participate.

If you always wanted to work more closely with the council office. Don't worry...YOU WILL BE TO. Hope I don't give you too much to do, though. I'm kind of hard to work for, but it's rewarding. Not hard as in "difficult" but hard as in "high standards." But again, it's rewarding and people like to be able to be their best on the job and ZD knows how to allow that to happen and facilitate quality and productivity. I think you can belive that from what you have seen from me and the result and effect it has had throughout the city.

IT IS UP FOR GRABS...AND ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO WAY ZUMA DOGG WILL COME IN FIRST...TRY TO SEND A MESSAGE BY PUSHING ME INTO THE TOP THREE (INSTEAD OF FOURTH) -- AND MAYBE SOME MAGIC (BIG PROTEST VOTE FOR ZD -- BACKED UP BY MY HUGE PUBLIC PROFILE) WILL PUSH ME INTO THE RUN-OFF!!!

(I know it's probably not going to be #2 for ZD...BUT, you wouldn't bet your house or pension benefits that ZD CANNOT still come in #2.) BUT, the main thing here is think of the HUGE message it will send council if ZD comes in #3 and beats one of the BIG 3 (money-taking sell-out and roll-over) candidates.
