Today Marks The 10 Year Anniversary of "The Zuma Dogg Show" Public Access Cable TV Debut, 10 Years Ago TODAY!

You know Zuma Dogg, I hate to talk about tomorrow, so the only thing I can say about today, besides the big deal of getting a new bike chain, is that 10 years ago today, "The Zuma Dogg Show" made it's debut on public access cable in Los Angeles County in Malibu, CA. Shortly thereafter, it was broadcast on five cable systems throughout L.A. County (Santa Paula to Downtown L.A. and most points in between). For those who remember exactly where you were, the first time you were stopped cold in your channel surf tracks...it was the new Y2K Millennium; Britney was just doing it again. It was still unclear who the biggest star of "N'Sync was during the "Bye-Bye-Bye" era -- AND DAVE COULDN"T TAKE ANOTHER SECOND OF IT ALL! So it was Zuma Dogg to passively aggressively poke fun at it all with his "Anti-Eminem/TRL" wrecking-ball character. He took to the streets with his solo cam-corder to create some REAL pop culture entertainment. At the time, Jackass, Ali G, Jamie Kennedy had not come out yet, nor had any "reality" shows where people walked around with a camera. The fact that I held my own camera was out of the sheer necessity of not having a camera person. And when you consider the show aired in Malibu, Beverly Hills and other Hollywood Producer Saturated areas, perhaps some liked the concept.

Anyway, it was the first Monday in August, 2000. The rest is history as I attempt to deal with the side-effects, as we speak.
