Huh...huh...huh...as some of you may know, ZD had a case of the "Monday's" even on Tuesday and YIKES did some of you media professionals get a cranky voice mail or email from ZD letting you know my displeasure with you and your local media coverage. But that was the LEAST of my problems...and thanks to the people who helped extinguish the flame. I should be A-O.K. for the next 24-48 hours, and I'm not a diva and don't want to my homies who have supported me in the past and present to wonder or worry about me, so I wanted to pop in to let you know that I'm out of the danger zone...but these time between episodes is shortening -- and that's adding to my stress level. But as long as the coast is clear, I'm gonna try and crank out some productivity, cause that's why people support me...so I can carry on with the activism blogging and videos...and I like to do it when I have twenty bucks, or so, to operate under. So now that I do, I'll probably let the good times roll and catch up on a lot of stuff and do a LIVE webcam show later this evening...and here's an update on things, otherwise known as a glimpse into the mind of ZD.

Zuma Dogg Update for Monday March 29, 2010 - ZD loses more days as he falls deeper into rut...

in case you haven't noticed, the activism career of ZD is all but over as I struggle to simply stay awake during the day, as I am slipping further and further into a rut of isolation and helplessness; as I am FAR from being able to reverse this downward spiral of another day without a budget of any kind to make it though the day. If you think I am returning to city hall, whether the ban is over, or not...you are VERY out of touch with the realities of ZD. It is SO OVER. I gotta let it all slide. Not even gonna try to keep things updated or even think of doing new shows or any updates. Things are winding down for ZD and you won't even notice the difference, except for some good memories of "The Zuma Dogg Era" (2000-2010). ERA OVER!

PROGRAMMING NOTE: ZD's 1st appearance at L.A. City Hall Council Chambers that kicked off the ZD "City Hall Era" was April 4, 2006 - coming up on 4 years. During that time I warned and chronicled on the record EXACTLY what was leading City Hall to the exact situation it now faces. So I did my part and I guess there's not much more that needs to be said, anyway. It's all after-the-fact, crybaby talk, now. And I did my talking when it counted...BEFORE it was too late. And it IS too late. I'm just gonna kick back at the beach until bankruptcy hearings.

Yesterday, I called Trutanich's City Attorney office to find out when the illegal 30 "council days" ban on Zuma Dogg is over, because I think it's about over. The receptionist was very receptive, as they always are when the Big ZD calls in...and she took details to get back to me.

WELL, as I watched the madness on City TV 35 today, otherwise known as the L.A. City Clowncil circus, I realized I had not heard back from the City Attorney's office, so I did what I HATE to do...

I HAD TO MAKE A SECOND CALL!

When you KNOW Zuma Dogg does not play, and is NOT the one to FUCK WITH...

Why did I have to make a second call? They know I am the most serious mutherfucker in town!

But what makes it REALLY BAD...is when I called back a second time today, the next receptionist knew NOTHING about it, and I had to start all over, and she explained there are five different people answering the phone. So I immediately thought of Deming's 14 Points and asked, well isn't there a log or record of my inquiry and where it was sent.

Unfortunately, I was told. "no," and had to start from scratch, EXPLAINING MYSELF ALL OVER, FOR A SECOND TIME. (You KNOW how much I hate to have to say something twice!)

But this receptionist, also ZD-friendly, took the details and made me feel confident that it would be looked into.

WELP...It's after hours on Friday, and I did not hear back.

SO TO ME, that say, there IS no ban preventing ZD from speaking during the pubic forum, or the ban is over...or whatever. But all I know, in MY BOOK, if you don't tell me when it's over...it IS over...and I will be there to speak on Tuesday, and if you prevent me, you better have the cops ready, cause ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, I WILL be expressing myself in chambers during public comment, and I am BANKING (no pun) on you clowns BLOWING IT, EVEN MORE, cause at this point, I'm just going for as many damages as possible for the FEDERAL LAWSUIT you will be losing.

Oh no...L.A. CAO Santata BUSTED for Driving Under Influence IN CITY VEHICLE after Attending Cooley Fundraiser!

Oh no...despite the sucky financial circumstance, I really like new L.A. City CAO Miguel Santana, and I think he does a HELL of a good job presenting the information and answering questions at the council meetings that makes people like Richard Alarcon and Janice Hahn's head explode as they boo-hoo-hoo all over themselves at the options they now have. Santana didn't cause this problem and again, I like him in the position. BUT THIS AIN'T GONNA BE GOOD:

The top budget analyst for the city of Los Angeles, City Administrative Officer Miguel Santana, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol early Friday for allegedly driving under the influence after attending an L.A. charity event.

Santana, who on Thursday night attended a political roast of Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley hosted by the American Diabetes Assn. at L.A. Live, was arrested in the San Gabriel Valley around 12:15 a.m. Santana lives in Claremont.

A CHP officer made the traffic stop after observing Santana’s car traveling at a high rate of speed on a surface street, said CHP spokesman Sgt. Mark Garrett. While interviewing Santana, the officer detected "signs and symptoms of intoxication" and placed him under arrest.

[Updated at 2:45 p.m.: CHP spokesman Officer Edmund Zorrilla said Santana was driving a city car at the time of his arrest, a gray Honda Civic. NOW NORMALLY, I would not post this story because this is a personal matter for Miguel and it sucks to be high profile with these types of personal problems...BUT, he was driving a city vehicle to a charity fundraiser!!! I have had issue with city officials using their official capacity for fundraisers and non-city business. (Let alone while intoxicated.) And if you read my blog from only yesterday, you will see I was warning COUNCILMEMBERS about driving city vehicles while intoxicated for fear of hitting a kid on a bike and then you pay the family for silence. Looks like they're gonna make DWP jump through some more dog and pony show hoops on Tuesday, let it go to the last second; when time runs out and it's too late to do anything else but pass it - as they explain how it will cost MORE if they do not pass it. CalPERS probe becomes criminal investigation

The CalPERS influence-peddling probe has turned into a criminal investigation, the Wall Street Journal reported today.

The newspaper, quoting anonymous sources, said U.S. Justice Department investigators in Los Angeles are looking into whether investment decisions at public pensions funds such as CalPERS were influenced by illegal payments.

Six individuals have pleaded guilty to criminal charges in connection with a corruption probe involving New York state's public pension fund, but so far no one has been charged in the CalPERS investigation.

CalPERS officials said today they haven't been contacted by criminal authorities.

"We aren't aware of any criminal investigation," said Brad Pacheco, spokesman for the California Public Employees' Retirement System.

CalPERS hired a Washington law firm last fall to investigate the activities of placement agents after disclosing that one agent - former CalPERS board member Alfred Villalobos - earned roughly $60 million in fees helping clients obtain investments from the big pension fund. CalPERS later revealed that the ten most prolific placement agents earned fees totaling $125 million.

The Journal said criminal investigators are scrutinizing a few individuals for their possible role in CalPERS investments totaling "many millions" of dollars.

Among those pleading guilty in the New York investigation was Elliott Broidy, a prominent Los Angeles financier whose private equity firm obtained a $50 million investment from CalPERS in 2004. Court records show that the Securities and Exchange Commission, as part of its non-criminal investigation, has issued subpoenas to Broidy demanding records of contacts he's had with Villalobos and former CalPERS Chief Executive Fred Buenrostro, among others. Buenrostro went to work for Villalobos after leaving CalPERS.

Both Buenrostro and Villalobos have said they've met Broidy.
