Did you know Hunt and his attorney cashed a check, last week for $475,000? I'm sure you are happy, cause I'm sure you feel he deserves it! If not...it's not like he didn't try to warn council and take measures to prevent it from going this far. (Matt Dowd and Zuma Dogg have ALSO taken measures to prevent the SAME THING, as you know!)And now, Matt Dowd & Zuma Dogg and NINE OTHERS, on deck. We won an injunction on a related matter. City hasn't settled yet, so looks like it's headed to a jury for damage awards for Dowd, Dogg -- and NINE OTHER VENICE BEACH PERFORMERS, with a MUCH STRONGER case than Hunt's, since his was over selling of a product, and ours is over sheer 1st Amendment speech/performance, and we already won the injunction.
So Hunt walks away, triumphant, after taking $475,000 out of the L.A. City General Fund. (Better close another library, park or add some more furlough days for LAFD/LAPD. Hunt is the first ONE. And now, 11 more behind him, each with a $750/hr attorney. PLUS...and please brace yourself...Hunt has not closed out his damages...and there is more to come...and again, the city digs in and spends as much as they have to, prolonging all of this inevitable...and it just gets more expensive. (That's a HELL of a lot of attorney time for 12 nutty Venice people, who talk too much...tick-tock, tick-tock.)
CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHAEL HUNT AND HIS ATTORNEY FOR TAKING $475,000 AWAY FROM THE CITY, SO THEY CAN'T WASTE & PILFER IT.
The less money the city has, the less fraud, waste and abuse there is! Sorry, Charlie. Tell the kids, the library and/or park is closed cause the city didn't listen to Hunt/Dowd/Dogg over the course of five years. Go play on the sidewalk! If it's LAFD you need...grab a hose!
