LAPD Reacts to Zuma Dogg's Morning Tweet and MOVES ILLEGAL FOOD VENDORS out of HANDICAP SPACE!

HEY THERE, DUMMY!: There's a REASON no one else was set up in that handicap zone, you stupid, ignorant, moron! PLUS, ZUMA DOGG VERBALLY WARNED YOU...AND YOU GAVE ME STUPID BULLSHIT-BACKTALK! THEN, THE OTHER ILLEGAL THUG VENDORS, WHO "GOT YOUR BACK" ROLL UP (with their hands wavin' up in the air, as they approach) TO SEE, "WHAT'S UP." I TOLD THEM YOU CAN'T SELL FOOD IN HANDICAP ZONES AND MOVE IT! YOU GET GANGSTA? I TOLD YOU THE CART WAS MOVING, THOUGH, TOUGH GUYS!

ALL YOU HAVE IS THUG "PHYSICAL ATTACK" SCARE TACTICS! ZUMA DOGG HAS THE BACKING OF THE LAW AND LAPD TO ENFORCE IT -- AND THE TIME HAS COME THAT THEY FINALLY ARE...BUH, BUH, BITCHED! HAVE FUN IN PRISON, BECAUSE I THINK YOU WERE ARRESTED. OR HAVE FUN PAYING THE TICKET AND YOU LOST YOUR ILLEGAL FOOD CART. GOOD LUCK! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT ISN'T ZONED FOR HANDICAP WHEELCHAIR ACCESS, YOU ILLEGALLY-OPERATING, NON-LAW ABIDING DUMB-ASSES!

[Sorry for the bad audio. It was recorded with a tinycam, made more for video. NOTICE at 1:30 minute into the video, the illegal vendor covers up the fruit cart. THAT said to ZD, LAPD must be coming! You see me turn and look. I see them...shoot...SCORE!!!]

WHY DOES ZD TAKE UP THIS ISSUE WITH SUCH GUSTO? FIRST OF ALL, the City of Los Angeles cracked down on ZD and EVERY performer in America, with their illegal laws, overturned in FEDERAL COURT (in lawsuit by Zuma Dogg/Matt Dowd, et al.), while choosing to walk right past the illegal food vendors, the entire time.

THEN, even AFTER we won the lawsuit, FIVE YEARS LATER, the FIRST TIME ZUMA DOGG went back out on the beach to perform, he was surrounded by a gaggle of cops asking a bunch of illegal/violation of 1st Amendment questions, that ended up with the Councilman BLASTING LAPD, and the city attorney calling LAPD Pacific Division to ORDER THEM TO SHUT THEIR FUCKING MOUTHS WITH THE FIRST AMENDMENT VIOLATING QUESTIONS.

BUT, that doesn't mean they STILL aren't walking past ILLEGAL food vendors to harass OTHER performers.

This week, LAPD was cracking down on some fellow musician performers on the Venice Beach Ocean Front boardwalk. The singer of the group in this video got a ticket, while the cops continue to walk right past the person ILLEGALLY selling food (fruit) -- IN THE HANDICAP ZONE! (So LAPD is cracking down on FEDERALLY PROTECTED musicians, allowed to be there by law, as they walk past the ILLEGAL FOOD VENDORS, NOT allowed to be there by law. Well, since LAPD was so hell-bent on cracking down on the musicians, I gave them the task for moving the illegal food sellers in the handicap zone.

SATURDAY MORNING ZD TWEETS:
  • #LAPD: How many times U gonna walk by "Villar's People" selling food in HANDICAP ZONE on boardwalk while you harass musicians. MOVE EM, NOW! about 6 hours ago
  • #LAPD: 1 of @Villaraigosa's "people" is SELLING FOOD in HANDICAP ZONE on Boardwalk. Near 413 Ocean Walk. But HARASS FED PROTECTED MUSICIANS! about 6 hours ago
(Sorry, I can't sit through nutty Neighborhood Council hamster treadmills. I had to sing the dues, to simply tweet the blues/take care of the issue. NC takes YEARS! ZD likes to handle in a couple tweets from home while listening to AC/DC and Run-DMC.)

So thanks for reducing ZD's effort down to two tweets and a blog post to take care of this shiznit, instead of having to call the Pacific Division, to spend an hour on the phone with the Sgt/Lt spinning me on how/why they cannot accomplish the task ZD is asking for. (Like moving the illegal food vendor out of the handicap spot.) They told me the vendors run away, and are too fast and the cops can't catch them. BUT THEN, ZD goes to the police commission meeting to blast 'em over the selective enforcement -- cause an LAPD cop said they won't crack down on illegal food vendors under orders from the mayor not to bother, "HIS people." So after one trip Downtown to the police commission meeting, to expose this issue, LIVE ON TV...the vendors were GONE, IMMEDIATELY!

Except this ONE vendor (in the video above)...the ORIGINAL and FIRST fruit selling vendor on the beach...who now crept into the handicap zone, instead of the other place the cops cracked down on. The REST of the food vendors are GONE. So since the cops were harassing these musicians, ZD had to make a couple more tweets, and luckily, no trip Downtown needed. (I HATE going downtown. Not like it's NYC or San Fran. It's SO depressing and ghost-townish.)

As you can see, LAPD is tired of ZD showing up at the police commission meetings, so now they just read my tweets and do it. THANK YOU, LAPD! SERIOUSLY! I've been going CLINICALLY INSANE over your INSANE enforcement and non-enforcement. THANK YOU, VERY MUCH TO LAPD PACIFIC DIVISION, FOR PUTTING SANITY/COMMON SENSE INTO TODAY'S ENFORCEMENT! You complain ZD catches everything. Glad I caught this, too! - ZD

RECAP:

MARCH 25, 2006: City of L.A. begins enforcement of (ordinance) 42.15, banning Zuma Dogg Tshirts, DVDs, CDs and amplification on most of the beach.

APRIL 4, 2006: Zuma Dogg appears at L.A. City Hall for first time, to complain about the illegal law.

OCTOBER 21, 2010: Federal Judge agrees with Zuma Dogg and Matt Dowd and bitch-slaps down (overturns) 42.15 with an injunction.

JANUARY 2011: Zuma Dogg notices, "NO AMPLIFIER" signs STILL POSTED, even though amplification is allowed ANYWHERE along boardwalk. Zuma Dogg feels this is an attempt to scare away anyone who comes to the boardwalk to perform with amps, when they see, "NO AMP," signs posted EVERY 50 FEET. After LAPD Pacific Division explains to Zuma Dogg for an hour, why they can't get the signs taken down, ZD appears at police commission meeting the next Tuesday to BLAST the issue on TV. (Hope the judge wasn't watching.) Signs taken down within 24-48 hours. [WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST TAKE 'EM DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE/Lesson One]

FEBRUARY-JUNE 2011: LAPD CONTINUES to walk past illegal food vendors in performers spaces and in the middle of the boardwalk (not allowed by law), as they crack down on the performers ALLOWED to be there by law. (AFTER THE PERFORMERS JUST WON A FEDERAL LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY. But the city is hostile and vindictive, so they continue to prey on musicians/performers who are not as up-to-date on the latest Federal injunctions.)

JUNE 2011: Zuma Dogg asks LAPD to please move illegal food vendors who now have watch-guards standing on places people like to sit and on business property, as the vendors have multiplied and are all across the center of the boardwalk, now. He is told they are busy and can't catch them. Then an LAPD office admits in frustration, "Mayor Villaraigosa told us to leave them alone and don't bother, 'his people.'" Zuma Dogg, thinking ALL PEOPLE are "his people," once elected mayor -- and FED UP with being harassed, along with the other performers -- AFTER WE JUST WON THE G*D DAMN RIGHT TO BE THERE AFTER A FIVE YEAR BATTLE!

JUNE 2011: ZUMA DOGG HEADS TO LAPD POLICE COMMISSION TO REPEAT ABOVE MENTIONED, "HIS PEOPLE," STORY. (The vendors are gone by the time I can drive back to Venice. And haven't been seen since.)

JUNE 23, 2011: LAPD writes a ticket to the singer of the group in this video after alleged undercover sting operation. She is given a ticket for smoking, although she wasn't smoking at the time. LAPD said the undercover cop said they saw her smoking, before. ZD wonders why they didn't write her the ticket WHEN she was smoking, if she was? The cops said they had a complaint that they were playing too loud. REALLY? Then why an undercover operation that results in a ticket for smoking, when she wasn't smoking? PLUS, the cop bruised her wrist in the process. SO ZD HAD ENOUGH! Emails Councilman Rosendahl. ZD receives call from LAPD Pacific Division Lieutenant on matter. (Missed call. And then no answer at LAPD Pacific Division when I called back. But point is, Rosendahl's office obviously followed up.)

JUNE 25, 2011: Zuma Dogg makes 2 tweets to move the damn illegal food vendor, because the original lady, who started the whole trend in the first place, returned, and is set up in the handicap zone!!! As tweeted above, demand they move her. As you see in the video, they did.

LESSON LEARNED: Why make ZD head downtown to the police commission meeting, when you are going to do it, anyway? Tweets are easier for everyone involved. (WIN-WIN!)

AND AGAIN...SERIOUSLY, thanks to LAPD! I feel like a scorned and abused puppy who wasn't kicked for the first time as the abuser walks past to kick the REAL bad doggy, for once. Ahhhhhhh!

To celebrate, Zuma Dogg gives the tourist crowd a treat, by picking up the guitar, and taking to the mic, to perform two 80's classics. The original Zuma Dogg song, "Downtown Streets" from '84, followed by a "ringer" accapella version of Styx, "Best of Times." (ZD performing the Tommy Shaw vocal, since I was holding a guitar. I sang this song, cause it's a political song that applies to L.A. in 2011.) ALL'S WELL, THAT BETTER BE ENDED, WELL! And if no illegal vending on Sunday, no ZD at Police Commission meeting on Tuesday. A WIN-WIN!
