This is a total flop for them, SOHA!

My responses…

Well I guess it will be politics as usual for the people of Sherman Oaks thanks to Richard Close the President of the SOHA. Does anyone remember his part of "Californians for Proposition 13" that helped lead an unsuccessful effort to make the San Fernando Valley a separate city from Los Angeles? The issues about the valley secession attempt included the need for more local control over decision making.

Interesting that NOW his organization SOHA, that he started some bygone ago, is supporting the effort to make Sherman Oaks be controlled by a single Los Angeles Council District. Which Council District? Council District 5, the one district that has more over the hill gang cities than District 2 which is all valley based with it's cities.

Now WHY would SOHA want Sherman Oaks to be controlled from a Los Angeles City Council district from over the hill and NOT by a ALL valley district, as CD2 is? Typical SOHA it seems...
Richard Close serves as a commissioner on the Local Agency Formation Commission For The County of Los Angeles (LAFCO) http://lalafco.org/lafcocommissioners2010.html

So NOW, SOHA wants all of Sherman Oaks to join the over the hill gang of CD5? Once again the over the hill gang wants to rob the valley of it's riches. How is it that Sherman Oaks fits into Bel Air, Beverly Crest, Beverlywood, California Country Club, Carthay Circle, Century City, Cheviot Hills, Comstock Hills, Encino, Fairfax, Hollywood, Melrose, Oak Forest Canyon, Palms, Pico-Robertson, Roscomare, Sherman Oaks, Sherman Village, Studio City, Tract 7260, Valley Village, West of Westood, Westside Village, Westwood, Westwood Gardens or Westwood South of Santa Monica more than the valley in which it resides!
SOHA acts as thou they are speaking for the Sherman Oaks CD2 area residences and they are NOT! I never voted for a CD 5 council member. If anything Sherman Oaks should be part of CD2 not CD5, CD2 is in the valley, like Sherman Oaks and not part of the over the hill gang of CD5.

SOHA / Bob Anderson/ chair of SOHA's redistricting committee:

"SOHA has been part of Sherman Oaks since 1964. With several thousand members, we see how our community works together on local projects and cares about our community of interest-the San Fernando Valley." This was from a letter about the state congressional redistricting…so if it was good for that WHY is it not good for LACC redistricting? Now Bob and SOHA wants to be part of the over the hill gang and leave the valley!
