L.A. City Hall Spent Over $850,000 on OUTSIDE COUNSEL Over "Dogg/Dowd/Venice Beach Lawsuits," SO FAR (PLUS, PLAINTIFFS' ATTORNEY FEES & CITY ATTORNEYS' TIME/MONEY!)

THIS is from MAY 2013 (now November 2013) -- with a FEDERAL JURY TRIAL to prepare for in January 2014. (May need more money approved, out of the general fund!!!)

Re: Dogg/Dowd/Venice Beach Artists Lawsuit vs City of Los Angeles:

1. Section V, paragraph A, Appropriation of Funds, is amended to add the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) and to read as follows: The Los Angeles City Council has appropriated Eight Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($825,600) for this Contract. The City will not pay Outside Counsel for any work done or costs incurred in excess of Eight Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($825,600) unless additional appropriations are made by the City Council and an amendment to this Contract is executed by the parties.

NOTE FROM MR. DOGG: THIS IS AMENDMENT THREE (3) -- from MAY 2013. It is NOVEMBER 2013; and outside counsel (Meyers-Nave) is preparing for the FEDERAL jury trial (January 21, 2014), where a jury will decide monetary awards for Zuma Dogg, Matt Dowd and the other Venice Beach boardwalk performers. (Will more money for outside counsel need to be approved, between now and then? Over 10,000 pages of documents.) Dogg/Dowd's damages also include multiple violations of U.S. law, during the public comment portion of the council meetings; when Dogg/Dowd were interrupted/cut-off/ejected/banned, multiple times. NOTE: This $850,600 amount is ONLY for L.A. City Hall's OUTSIDE COUNSEL. THIS does NOT include the OTHER L.A. City Attorneys, from City Hall -- and does not include the Venice Beach plaintiffs' attorney fees (11 performer/plaintiffs=$850/hr.) It is possible the city will need a new amendment for more general fund money to continue with all of this. (Dogg/Dowd had hoped to settle this, years ago...and that was BEFORE August 2013 "Code of Conduct"/"Rules of Decorum"(public comment during the council meetings) had been ruled, that went against the city; and in Dogg/Dowd's favor, for additional damages. ADD IT ALL UP, ABOUT ONE MILLION DOLLARS ($1,000,000) out of City's general fund -- when it coulda/shoulda/woulda been SETTLED for a FRACTION, years ago. City is too vindictive for your own city's good. (Same money for fire/police/street repair/city administration. I'm gonna name a fire station closing after this case!)
