Mayor Sam's Laptop Stolen From His SUV: Simple Smash & Grab, or Was It A POLITICAL Inside Job

DWP LAWSUIT NEWS EXPECTED TODAY: Remember the city suing DWP for the water transfer last year? Went to court yesterday. City goes to speak. Judge says come back tomorrow. Nobody wants to listen to the City. Guess we will have to wait to find out what happened today. Just maybe this could affect the rate increase proposals? Some council types think so. (WILL POST THE NEWS WHEN IT BREAKS.)

Not to sound paranoid and conspiratorial...I didn't even think of this scenario myself: But, I was telling my friend that Mayor Sam's SUV got broken into, in a secure/upscale garage and his laptop and electronics got ripped off

I wasn't mentioning it in a political shadiness context...just in a "what a shame" context. However, my activist friend immediately snapped back, that it wouldn't surprise her, at all, if it was a political operative job. [FOR THE RECORD: There HAVE been a lot of break-ins the area, recently, according to Mayor Sam.]

HOWEVER, apparently, there is a big scavenger hunt going on around town, trying to figure out who is leaking information to whom. In other words, there is nothing that makes politicians and appointed officials more nervous than not know who all these anonymous bloggers are, and who they are speaking and receiving emails from.

Plus, IPO info...passwords, contact info...anything that helps pinpoint where information is coming from.

WHY? Let's take your typical "pirate" (city hall insider, or someone in the know who provides info, or blogs the info yourself).

How does a bitter political thug (like the one/ones trying to track down bloggers and their sources) enact revenge?

Oh, they'll look into your affairs: Unpaid tickets, warrants, bills, where you work, personal records...anything to crack down on you/rat you out. Maybe they will find out you were arrested, and make sure a whole lot more people become aware of the details. The same thing ended up happening to Rocky Delgadilldo, for example when he went up against Paris Hilton -- and her attorneys did to Delgadillo what we are talking about, here.

So maybe it was a simple smash and grab because Mayor Sam had some computers and blinged out electronic devices in his van. I'm sure the fact that he was in a secure (at least it was supposed to be) garage with security and cameras probably was the reason he felt safe. So it could be your basic inside job to take the stuff to a shady pawn shop.

HOWEVER, it would also be a good time to mention that it is pretty well known around town that there is a big scuttlebutt out there to figure out how some of this "news before it happens" is hitting the blogs.

As Barry Manilow once said, "Looks Like We've Made It." (Man are those powerful corrupt politicians a bunch of crybabies. And now that I know their soft spots, I'm gonna put the pressure on.

OH, HELL YEAH...ZD JUST BECAME VERY INFORMED AS TO WHERE THE TEMPERS ARE FLARING IN THIS TOWN! (LOL!) Maybe you can steal my laptop and try and figure it all out. OR, you could just stop behaving like corrupt gangsters under the guise of democracy.
