L.A City Councilmember Greig Smith Requests CLA To Report Back With Plan To Cut Special Event Fee Waiver Money (That's A GOOD Thing!)

CM Greig Smith requested at this week's Budget hearings that the CLA report back with a plan. We're tired of waiting, it's been two to three years now, it's been through various committees, we need to have it resolved in this year's budget, because the impact is $10 million dollars.

Smith says a desired outcome would be, "A 50% reduction, at least, and really guiding toward essential services for non-profit organizations. And CM Smith addresses the issue of the bigger Special Events like the Emmies and Oscars that bring in billions in revenue to the city.

Thanks CM Smith for taking a moment at the Van Nuys meeting to update the People on Special Event Fee Waivers. Here are his full comments.
