Board of County Stupidvisors Says "YES" To Holding Parents Accountable For Their Kid's Graffiti

LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF STUPIDVISORS PASS GRAFFITI LAW TO HOLD PARENTS ACCOUNTABLE: LOL! Let me be perfectly blunt. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE ENFORCING YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS GRAFFITI PROBLEM AND THIS PARENTAL ACCOUNTABILITY THING IS JUST AN EMPTY WARM AND FUZZY THAT AIN'T GONNA MAKE A DENT OR A DRIP!

First of all, the big parental accountability is "how to be a better parent" training sessions (like traffic court or and AA meeting) if your kid is busted for repeat offenses. And even if you hold the parents fiscally responsible for the damage...GOOD LUCK COLLECTING! (Maybe you better target taggers in Beverly Hills so the parents can pay the liens.

Secondly, it's very tough to catch taggers in action. They are in and out with the quickness and the reason this is so frustrating for City and County officials is because THEY KNOW they can't catch these people in action most of the time.

Thirdly, they aren't scared of getting caught, don't care what their parents have to say, the parents probably don't care in most cases (cause what are they gonna do); and the one's who DO care can't control their tagger children. (DO YOU THINK THEY ARE DOING IT BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY HAVE THEIR PARENTS BLESSING?)

Fourthly, you can offer all the reward money, but when you call in a tagger -- DO YOU REALLY THINK THE POLICE DROP EVERYTHING AND HEAD OVER??? THEY DO NOT, because they know they will be gone by the time they arrive on the scene. So unless you are the latest comic book superhero called, "Super Graffiti Saver Man" (based on a character created by Dennis Zine) -- YOU ARE NOT GONNA CITIZEN'S ARREST YOUR WAY OUT OF IT, EITHER!

So we are stuck with graffiti. It will continue. You are going to have to deal with it in the short run and Zuma Dogg says in the long run. And it is not reasonable to stick business owners and property owners with "liens" to be painting over this stuff every night. Business is having a tough enough time in this economy with all your "UP-dated" fees and taxes (and everything else you have in the works) -- AND AFFORD TO PICK UP THE TAB FOR THE SITUATION ON THE STREETS THAT YOU FAILED TO CONTROL OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT!

So here is the only option:

Just like the city has traffic enforcement officers driving around writing tickets; and just like you have trash removal crews collecting the trash; and maintenance crews performing all kinds of work around the city...the City is going to have to have "Graffiti Removal Crews" (GRCs) driving around the problem areas every day at 6am (just like when they start writing tickets) and they will have to paint over it. Take the money out of gang intervention and youth development and hire people out of that money!

But do not think that you did anything today Board of County Stupidvisors toward the goal of seriously accomplishing any goal besides good political PR for approving this warm and fuzzy drip of mist over the Grand Canyon of problems.

New Juvenile Curfew about LAUSD School Money As Much As Crime Prevention (If Not More):
Los Angeles City Council passed some new laws that tighten down on juvenile curfew restrictions, especially during the day when kids are supposed to be in school. Zuma Dogg spoke with Councilmember (and Board of Supes Candidate) Bernard Parks, before the vote last week, and he mentioned (most notably) that the City needs this curfew because the schools get paid per pupil and if the kids ain't in the seats, the school ain't getting paid for the body that is supposed to be in the vacant seat. So once again, they always make it sound like it's for one thing, but it always comes down to revenue. (And since the Mayor, Steve Barr, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and friends are taking over the school system business through Charters (privatization), the mayor REALLY has to make sure he keeps the kids off the streets and in the seats. (Kinda like concert promotion or other big business.) If the streets are safer, that's just a mere ancillary side-effect.
