Mayor Villaraigosa and Board of Supervisor Candidate Bernard Parks Should DENOUCE The Actions Taken Against The Shaw Signature Gathering This Weekend!

[Pictured: Councilmember Parks about to cross his fingers behind his back, just before he speaks.]

By now, Zuma Dogg has heard so much City Hall and has run the gamit of first amendment issues with LAPD inside City Hall and on the Venice Beach boardwalk...let's just say ZD is about to give you a mock interview regarding the incident at Lemiert Park, this past Saturday, relating to the Shaw Family.

So in other words, this is the type of spin ZD would expect to be hearing soon as this police run-in with dangerous signature gatherers and sealed Dorito bag hander-outers will continue to blow up in the media and in the public mind: So hopefully by posting this before hand, we can nip any potential bamboozle-jibber-jabber out of City Hall's mouth before they try and spin with it.

Zuma Dogg (ZD): I hear people saying that Councilmember Bernard Parks has the "authority" to call the police and have them head over to the park to harass the Shaw Family?

City Hall Spinner (CHS): No. Councilmembers DO NOT have that authority. That would be against the law, I would suspect.

ZD: Not to be bamboozled, Zuma Dogg is not saying that SOMEONE didn't call the police and send them over to the park. I'm just saying it's not like it's in the Charter that cops have to take orders from Councilmembers. But HELL YEAH, don't think these conversations don't happen anyway.

CHS: Yeah, but Parks doesn't have that kind of clout with LAPD. If Bratton found out his cops were doing that without his knowledge...well, I don't really think Parks has that kinda clout with LAPD.

ZD: Oh snap...maybe not...but it was the General Service Police Department that is part of City Hall and Parks and Villaraigosa are tight with this department, since it is a City Hall department.

CHS: Yeah, but Parks is running for Board of County Supervisors and the people HE is counting on for support are the people like the Shaws and those that support this type of effort, where Mark-Ridley-Thomas is going for the type of supporters who do not favor changing Special Order 40 or Jamiel's Law. Mark Ridley-Thomas would be the one who does not want to see Jamiel's Law on the ballot. And Mark is a Senator, so he could make a call to LAPD.

ZD: Yeah, I guess. But since it was General Services, it seems more like someone from inside City Hall, cause I don't think Senators have the same clout there.

CHS: Anyway, I saw the blog postings about the event and they are false blog posts. It never happened.

ZD: Oh common! I have met the Shaws and spent time speaking with them and listening to them, and are you saying they made the whole thing up and are lying? Again, I've heard them and met them enough to know, they aren't lying about this. And I heard Jamiel Sr.'s account of what happened and that sounds like the same stuff they pull at City Hall and at Venice Beach on Zuma Dogg. (Although of course it is much more insidious when these same First Amendment busting B.S. tactics are being pulled on the Shaws for there cause. (They'll try and tell you anything and hope YOU don't know your rights, like with the Social Security questions and the statement that, "you cannot gather signatures in a park...you have to go door to door" -- and the whole thing. They may have BEAT the Shaws that day, but they didn't FOOL em.)

CHS: I saw the pictures the Shaw's posted from the event, and it didn't look like a task force, I just saw a few cops, and who's to say they weren't just saying, "Hello" or that they weren't going up and talking to everyone?

ZD: Fine! It was just a few cops. Just a few cops sent there to break up the signature gathering and violate their first amendment rights.

CHS: The cops weren't sent there just because the Shaw Family was there gathering signatures. They could have been there because there may have been problems with illegal activity like drug sales at the park last weekend and other times and they were there making the rounds at the park and the Shaws just happened to be there at the wrong time and got caught up in that.

ZD: Um, excuse me! FINE! So they weren't sent there by City Hall (yeah, right!) But once they were there to crack down on all the dangerous crime that wasn't happening during this safe daytime event with all these people gathering signatures and having a picnic -- THEY DIDN'T LEAVE THE SHAWS ALONE! ARE YOU TELLING ME, ANY OFFICER, BE IT LAPD OR GENERAL SERVICES OR THE SECURITY GUARD AT RITE-AID HASN'T HEARD ABOUT THE SHAW CASE!?!?! O.K., so maybe they didn't recognize their faces, and didn't see the signage and T-shirts and didn't know from a visual standpoint that this was a gathering for Jamiel's Law and this was the Shaw Family...JAMIEL SHAW, SR. TOLD THEM WHO HE WAS AND WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO HIS FAMILY AND WHY THEY WERE THERE!

BUT THEY STILL HAD TO BREAK UP THE TEA PARTY! So I guess the Shaws DID get fair and equal treatment, because if the cops were there to crack down on crime, they sure treated the Shaws like criminals!

CHS: Why would the City send LAPD over there to harass the Shaws. That would just call more attention to the whole situation and get everyone in the community all upset, like is happening now. Even if we wanted to push them out of the park, we wouldn't do it because we know what would happen. This is the last thing we want.

ZD: Yeah, you guys are sociopaths. You are just so desperate you simply have to stop the bleeding. YOU AREN'T EVEN RATIONAL AND ALWAYS UNDERESTIMATE THE PUBLIC EVERY F-ING TIME!!! Meanwhile, the Shaws WERE treated the way the were (the way you say would backfire), so SOMEONE obviously feels they can operate this way. (NO ONE WANTS THIS TO GO AWAY MORE THAN ANTONIO AND JACK WEISS.)

CHS: But again, I don't think anyone sent the police over because the Shaws were there, they just happened to be there at the time.

ZD: Yeah, but they didn't move on when they found out who they were and what they were there for. AND, even if you bust them for the food, you still broke the whole thing up and returned later. WOW! If you put this much effort into he real crime problem in the streets, maybe they wouldn't be having this signature gathering...YOU BIG DUMMIES!!!
yeah, but they didn't move on.

SINCE CITY HALL WILL BE SAYING THAT THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS...AND DID NOT SEND THE COPS OVER AND THAT THE LAST THING THEY WOULD WANT IS FOR THE SHAWS TO BE HARASSED (EVEN THOUGH ONLY FOR POLITICAL REASONS)...

ZUMA DOGG IS CALLING FOR MAYOR ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA TO PUBLICLY DENOUNCE THE ACTIONS OF THESE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS REGARDING THE HANDLING OF THE SHAW FAMILY SIGNATURE GATHERING. AND I MEAN VILLARAIGOSA, NOT DUMBO SZABO WHO NEEDS A FEW MORE FEET TO PUT IN HIS MOUTH EVERY TIME HE OPENS IT!

And maybe Councilmember Parks would like to save his Board of Supervisors candidacy by saying something, too.

BUT THEY'LL KEEP BLOWING THIS WHOLE THING LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, SO THE GOOD NEWS FOR JAMIELS LAW SUPPORTERS IS THAT THIS ISSUE JUST MOVED UP A NOTCH IN THE MIND OF PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS.

We hope you have enjoyed this fictional conversation between City Hall Spinner (CHS) and The Realest, Dough (ZD)
