L.A. CITY COUNCIL "LEGAL DEFENSE FUNDS" (Zuma Dogg says they are used for ILLEGAL things.) HERE'S THE RACKET RUNDOWN: Wish I could say I figured it out myself, but the good thing about being ZD, is I don't have to...other people LOVE to tell me.
CITY COUNCIL LEGAL DEFENSE FUNDS:
An individual can give $1000 to each one.
What is the shady angle: The money can be (is being?) used to "bribe" people, hire vendors and purchase/pay for things, without having to use city council funds and keep it out of the public eye of accountability and legal scrutiny.
Example: If I'm a councilman, and I give "Joe Business" $5000, that is a bribe. But, if MY ATTORNEY gives, "Joe Business," it's a "settlement."
So Councilmember "REQUESTS" that constituents and business operators in the community give $1000 to each of his three legal defense funds, and he can start using it to pay people off, via "attorney settlements." And remember, it's ALL under attorney client privilege. AS IS ALL OF THIS.
Let's say you need to hire a vendor: Attorney does the hiring and paying for vendor. Need to buy stuff: Attorney buys it, out of legal defense fund. (Remember the guy in "Lethal Weapon 2." ("Diplomatic Immuuuuuuuunity!") In this case (and I hope it BECOMES one), the term is, "Attorney/Client Priiiiiiiiivliiiiiiiiige!"
City Councilman and Congressional candidate TONY CARDENAS has THREE!!! Need A LOT OF STUFF AND PEOPLE TO SUPPORT YOU WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING FOR CONGRESS. So ONE would NOT be NEARLY enough!
