Does Hillary Clinton Already Know It's Over? Did She Just Conceed To Obama On CNN?
An odd comment caught my attention on the CNN Presidential Debate this evening in Texas. Hillary said (regarding the outcome of the nomination), "No matter what happens 'we'll' be fine." That's kinda the thing you can say about yourself, but not someone else.
For example, if you know you are going to lose, you can say, "We'll be fine", because you know you will take the loss in stride. If she felt she was winning, and Barack was going to lose, would she speak for Barack by saying that he would be fine. (If he loses he would be the "we'll" that would be fine.) Or maybe it's her way of letting her supporters down easy in saying, "No matter what happens/Hillary loses, the Democratic party will be fine vs Republicans." (Although she had some other moments where she put up a "Huckabee" front.)
So whether she ends up winning, or losing...perhaps she gave away a psychological tell as to which way she thinks the momentum is heading?
Meanwhile, at the end of the day; no offense to Hillary. She just happens to be the mere mortal candidate standing next to the biggest movement since the people rallied around "Forrest Gump". You can tell that Hillary is actually relieved at this point. And she'll be an icon, in her own right as a Senator, and in private life. I think she comes out of this with her reputation in tact. All the ugly stuff didn't come out. All the suckers who don't know the Dick Morris version of Hillary will love her and show up at her book signings, and she'll make speeches...and no one will blame her for losing, because Barack is Mr. Perfect Teflon...and it's not her fault that American's are a bunch of shallow dummies who are picking a "smooth speaker" over someone who is "ready on day one"; and she'll walk away with dignity, even more beloved...and she'll never have to live through the insufferable mess that she would be walking into as such a polarizing President during war. And now Bill can say and do whatever and whoever he wants; and they all lived happily ever after, on the realest, dough.
what?
