CHECK INTO LA DAILY BLOG FOR UPDATES THROUGHOUT THE DAY:
If you check the time stamps to see what blog or website broke the news that Spitzer stepped down (from the time he uttered the words), you will find LA Daily Blog posted the Breaking News the second it happened...beating Drudge, LA Times, NY Times and any other news outlet on the net.

Plus, we posted that Spitzer was in transition talks with the Lieutenant Governor and would be stepping down, the day before he stepped down.

And, when other blogs reported that Arturo Chavez and Ricardo Lara had dropped out of the Assembly race to replace Nuckelhead Nunez -- LA DAILY BLOG told you that Antonio already muscled them out and they would be dropping out...the day before it happened. (News before it happens!)

Plus we cover a lot of other shady local issues you can't read about anywhere else/newspapers won't cover. Is any other outlet warning of 20% DWP rate hike increases?

How come other media outlets don't have this info? Because they are lazy and are too good to talk to "regular people". Well those people call Zuma Dogg and tell him. So although the post might say, "Zuma Dogg" or "LA Daily Blogger" at the bottom -- every story is really by someone in Los Angeles who contacted ZD by phone or email. Thank you! (This blog would be "crickets" without you.)

EAST LOS ANGELES CLARTS FUND: Last year; and again in January of this year, ZD has been taking calls from Boyle Heights residents who are inquiring into CD 14 (Boyle Heights) CLARTS FUND that Councilmember Jose Huizar is using at his "discretion" for "community amenities".

08-0536 CD 14 MOTION (HUIZAR - PARKS) relative to funding for community services and support in Council District 14. Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: TRANSFER $50,000 from the Central Los Angeles Recycling and Transfer Station Community Amenities Trust Fund No. 47S/14 to the General City Purposes Fund No. 100/56, Account No. 0714, Council District 14 Community Services, to provide funding for community amenities in Council District 14.

ZD has seen these motions roll through shady agenda, after shady agenda. They (the people who have contacted me) want to know how and where the money is being spent. (How about a list of how and where the money was spent -- beyond "community ammenities" Councilmember Huizar? "Community Amenities" reminds me of DWP's "Line Item 36/185" (Miscellaneous Expenses). See L.A. Superior Court lawsuit against DWP and their "Item 36/185". The main problem the community has is that Huizar spends the money like his own personal slush fund, with no community input -- while other community requests are getting cut.
