In these tight economic times, Zuma Dogg has the perfect answer as to how you can go "Christmas shopping in July" and pick up your entire season's worth of gifts for FREE!!!
Everyone has seen the row of vendors that line the beach along the Venice Beach Ocean Front Walk: But did you know that the vendors all have signs on the table saying, "Donation accepted but are not required."
This means you and everyone you know (bring a group of friends) may walk up and down the Venice "Boardwalk" and take ONE FREE ITEM FROM EACH VENDOR!!!
And since most of these vendors are violating the terms of Ordinance 42.15 and flat out charge flat rates on all merchandise -- this has brought out a lot of good, quality merchandise. Stuff like jewelery, T shirts, incense, beauty products, more jewelery, picture art...and all types of bootleg merchandise off the boat from China that people buy for .50 cents at the wholesale district and charge $10 for to people at the beach.
BUT, THEY ARE NOT REALLY ALLOWED TO CHARGE...YOU CAN WALK UP AND DOWN AND TAKE ONE OF EACH ITEM FOR FREE!
AND YOU SHOULD: Because anyone there on the beach in the true spirit of the boardwalk would be more than happy to share a sample of their product. And anyone who gets pissed off, is probably hustling something they shouldn't be.
AND, if you feel too guilty to take something of value that you know they paid for...leave a donation...but at the price you feel is fair.
For example: If you see a hat, banner, shirt, necklace, etc. that you like and it is priced at some hustle price of $10 or more; just pick up an item (like the hat or T shirt) and hand them a five dollar bill (or four) or something you feel comfortable with. BUT DO NOT BE BAMBOOZLED! AND DO NOT BE HUSTLED! If you feel like picking something up and taking it without a donation and the vendor complains, just tell them, "Fine, I'll notify the next officer I see that you denied me the item." (Again, every vendor has the sign, "No donation required" on EVERY space.)
