This CAO report from August 2007 shows budget trouble while Villaraigosa was negotiating a 25% raise with the unions to secure his vote for re-election. (Remember Council was saying 13%, but Zuma Dogg's sources were saying 25%!)

HE BASICALLY JUST ADMITTED HE'S AN IDIOT AND NOW HIS IGNORANCE HAS PLACED THE CITY IN AN UNSAFE POSITION AS HE THREATENS TO CUT CITYWIDE SERVICES...AND IT'S TRIPLE THE TRASH COLLECTION FEES AND ALL KINDS OF NEW GANG PARCEL TAXES AND BULKY ITEM REMOVAL AND MORE TICKETS...WHEN YOU JUST GAVE AWAY THE FARM TO THE UNION WHEN YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN FULLY AWARE YOU NEGLIGENT HAZARD AND THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY ONE-TERM LOSER.
