By now, you know that Saturday WAS the deadline to file to become a candidate for the March 03, 2009 Los Angeles City General Election. Zuma Dogg has joined Villaraigosa in the mayor's race. But two interesting things regarding these two elections:

Wonder what effect it will have on Jackass Weiss' campaign for City Attorney, now that Noel Weiss has put his name down as a candidate in the same race? Wonder if a confusion factor could shave votes off of Jack's column. OR, maybe people who hate Jack Weiss, will simply punch the chad for the "OTHER" Weiss? OVERALL, I think it is a GOOD THING for Carmen Trutanich who is also running and is the Z.A.P. Endorsed candidate for City Attorney. I spoke with Noel about the possibility of his running. If people help him get signatures to put his name on the ballot, he'll run. So it's not really 100% official until he gets the signatures. I don't think he is going to do it himself, like ZD is going to try and do.

We already know Mayor Villaraiogsa backed and got elected to the LAUSD school board, three other puppet-candidates (Tamar Galatzan, Yoli Folres-Aguilar and that other puppet-head.) NOW, the only two non-Villarpuppets are choosing not to run for re-election. Julie Korenstein (ZD's FAVE) and Marlene Kantor have had enough, and are choosing not to re-run, like David Tokofsky, who couldn't take it anymore -- so Villar got him a good job with Steve Barr's Green Dot, and he didn't run. And Villar took the LAUSD seat with his puppet.
THE WHOLE POINT OF IT ALL, IS TO SHOOT LAUSD IN THE FOOT AND FUNNEL ALL THE MONEY INTO CHARTER SCHOOLS. HEY, GREEN DOT IS THE BIGGEST OPERATOR OF CHARTERS. AND GUESS WHAT???
Now, Steve Barr's Green Dot is backing and running THEIR OWN personal candidate. (Forget shooting LAUSD in the foot, now they can just shoot it in the head).
That's right, ladies and gentelmen...BEN AUSTIN (of Green Dot) is running against Bill Ring (the REAL candidate) in this LAUSD race. It says, "Director, Parents' Association" as his occupation, but "Green Dot 'Operative'" is more fitting. His work as "Director of Parents Association" is the recruiting arm for Green Dot.
I met Ben, and he is a sharp guy. He came up in the Meathead Rob Riener ranks with Michael Trujillo and is cut from the same cookie cutter.
Hey, maybe you feel Green Dot SHOULD be handed over all of the contracts and money -- away from LAUSD. JUST SO YOU KNOW...Ben Austin is the Green Dot guy. Bill Ring is the actual leader and parent and advocate.
