D.A. Steve Cooley won't run for 4th term; he endorses deputy district attorney Jacquelyn Lacey (So much for his former ally Carmen "Douche" Trutanich who Cooley hand picked to run for L.A. City Attorney and appeared with "Douche" in his TV commercials. Guess there's NO ONE left for Carmen to alienate. I guess Trutanich is going to run for D.A., now, even though he said he wasn't going to seek higher office -- and was going to finish the job he was elected for and would serve all eight years, if re-elected. Hope Trutanich decides/realized he can't win if he breaks the promise, anyway, so decides NOT to run, himself and do the job he begged us all to do.)

Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Steve Cooley said Tuesday that he would not run for a fourth term as the county's top prosecutor, ending intense speculation as a crowded field of candidates vies to succeed him.
Cooley had remained coy for months about his political future, and his decision promises to have a dramatic effect on the 2012 campaign, which includes several hopefuls who promised to pull out of the race if Cooley ran again.
