Dear Judge,
I was walking along Venice Beach boardwalk today, and noticed the city still has the "No Amplified Sound" signs posted ALL ALONG THE BOARDWALK....ON EVERY LIGHT POST...ABOUT EVERY 50 FEET. They may argue that LAPD is not writing tickets for having amps, anymore. But the mere presence of the signs posted all up and down the boardwalk would certainly drive away any free-speech speaker or performer who was thinking of using an amp.

Meanwhile, the city DID take down the signs with the rules stating that you had to go to the Parks & Rec Office to pick up a city created placard saying, "Donations Accepted But Not Required." HOWEVER, they are writing tickets, without giving warnings, to people if they do not have a city created placard displayed that you must go to the office to pick up. YET, they took down the signs instructing you to do so, but are still writing tickets. Meanwhile, they left the signs about "amplification" UP for something they CANNOT write tickets for.

This is one reason Dowd/Dogg will be moving filing for Summary Judgment on January 19th, pending the ten day period after our most recent meet and confer with the city.

MORE (For everyone else...NOT the judge):
You remember over the weekend, when ZD reported that LAPD was writing tickets to people on the beach for not displaying the city mandated placard that they require you to magically know you are supposed to go to the office to pick up to display. They USED to have signs posted all along the boardwalk saying you had to have a city placard saying "Donations Accepted But Not Required" -- BUT UPON THE FEDERAL INJUNCTION, LAST OCTOBER 2010, THEY TOOK THE SIGNS DOWN...however, are still writing tickets. AND NOW...EVEN WORSE...Zuma Dogg noticed today that the signs saying "No Amps" ARE STILL POSTED ALL ALONG THE BOARDWALK ON EVERY LIGHT POST...EVERY 50 FEET!!! TONS OF SIGNS SAYING, NO AMPLIFIED SOUND. AND EVERYONE READING THIS KNOWS THE FEDERAL JUDGE SAID AMPLIFIED SOUND IS ALLOWED. IT DOES NOT MATTER that LAPD is no longer writing tickets for having amps. IT'S THE FACT THAT SOMEONE WILL SHOW UP TO THE BOARDWALK -- AND SEE THE SIGNS POSTED -- AND WALK AWAY!!! (NOT KNOWING ABOUT THE FEDERAL INJUNCTION -- BECAUSE THE CITY HAS NOT POSTED ANY NEW RULES..THEY TOOK DOWN OLD RULES (that they are still writing tickets for) -- BUT KEPT UP THE SIGNS THAT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WRITE TICKETS FOR...SHADY AS FUCK...I'M GOING TO SUMMARY JUDGMENT WITH MATT DOWD -- AND IT WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE COURT NEXT WEEK (as Dowd/Dogg are waiting for a 10 day period we have to give the city) -- AND WE WILL GET A TOTAL JUDGMENT IN OUR FAVOR! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU CLOWNS! I'M GONNA CRUSH YOU IN SUMMARY JUDGMENT...IT'S ALL IN...YOU WILL LOSE ALL...I WARNED YOU...YOU PICKED THE WRONG ONES TO F*CK WITH!
