VENICE PERFORMER "Zuma Dogg" Establishes Himself As Top U.S. Rock Vocal Performer on This LIVE Version of "More Than A Feeling," by BOSTON

If one were to attempt to prove total vocal performing dominance in the "rock" genre...it's a three word audition: "She slipped away..." (Even if you have to stretch, "away," into about four "hey-heys," it's still officially only three words.) Yes, those three words Brad Delp once uttered (shouted) over the soaring guitar riffs of Tom Scholz, in the Boston classic, "More Than A Feeling." Additionally, the song ("More Than A Feeling") is a "check-mate" crowd pleaser, when one must address the masses, on mic. Something about the song, when I used to sing it on the Venice Beach boardwalk that makes people smile. It IS basically an old time "show tune," melody -- set to the most awesome monster sound in recorded history. So here is the Zuma Dogg ROCK & ROLL CHALLENGE: Find me another living human being, who can top the final, "she slipped away," in this early morning, one take performance by L.A. legendary icon, Zuma Dogg. (Does this performance clearly establish him as the top overall performing vocalist in America, with a repertoire that spans from AC/DC to Barbara Streisand. (Oh, wait, that's only a two letter span...but you know what I mean.) I KNOW it's only me...but I think ZD IS INDEED heir to the Brad Delp vocal thrown! Check the final, "she slipped away," y'all...pop culture iconicness at it's finest, untouchable, untoppableness.

OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO: Zuma Dogg - "Lover" (LIVE in STUDIO) See Also: Future American Idol/America's Got Talent SUPERSTAR!?!

In 2000, Zuma Dogg debuted as a parody hip-hop character to combat MTV's bubble gum TRL era. That era is over. In this American Idol/The Voice/America's Got Talent era, time for ZD to get back to his ORIGINAL ROOTS=70's (regional) teen idol. Here's the comeback hit, "LOVER" (Demo): Smoothest ballad since Benny Mardones "Into The Night." If you don't like this song, go call Leif Garret!

STONE COLD SMASH!!! (Unless I'm STONED & SMASHED!?!) YOUR CHANCE to be AMERICAN IDOL/AMERICA'S GOT TALENT Judge of ZUMA DOGG's vocal performance. I've always wanted to be on the Kodak Stage for one of these cheesy shows, with my OWN country crossover pop smash ballad, but there's a SLIGHT chance that may never happen. HERE'S what it might look like, in the delusional mind of an L.A. icon.

LA Daily Blog - Week In Review (05-19-12): LAFD Response Time Controversy & The NEED for "Quality & Productivity" at L.A. City Hall [Zuma Dogg for L.A. City Mayor - 2013]

[PICTURED: A Quality (and Productivity) Candidate For L.A. Mayor - David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg)]
"Zuma Dogg is not running for Mayor; he’s running to Manage the City — David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) is the only one that knows that LA needs a Manager. We don’t need some twerpt trying to climb the politico ladder to an appointment in Washington DC." - Scott Z. comment on RonKayeLA

LAFD RESPONSE TIMES: L.A. Councilman Mitch Englander's DUMB & UNINFORMED, NON-LEADERSHIP, EMPTY EXHORTATIONS [A WALKING "QUALITY & PRODUCTIVITY" VIOLATION OF THE MIND & MOUTH!]

In response to L.A. City Controller's audit report of LAFD response time statistics:

"Public safety is absolutely the city's top priority," LA Councilman Mitch Englander, the chairman of the Public Safety Committee, said in a statement. "We must have accurate numbers on fire response times because you can't fix what you can't measure."

[Any IDIOT can say, "public safety is ABSOLUTELY the city's TOP priority." And an idiot DID say it. Because all Mr. Englander is capable of is spouting, "empty exhortations," of which he is providing no method for achieving the goal. WE MUST HAVE ACCURATE NUMBERS!!!! MR. ENGLANDER DEMANDS ACCURATE NUMBERS!!! DON'T YOU PEOPLE KNOW...INACCURATE NUMBERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED?!?!

Until, NEXT TIME. When he will say, "I DON'T UNDERSTAND! I SAID INACCURATE NUMBERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!"  But did anyone do anything to overhaul the system and provide a quality system and environment in which to function? Is Mr. Englander standing up to take on the task of leadership to implement Deming's 14 Points at L.A. City Hall?

Because until someone does, this report will be the same report in 2013. And, NO, Mr. Englander, I digress. You do NOT need accurate response times of previous responses to fix the system. You do not need to measure what you want to measure. Do you even HAVE a range of acceptable response times defined? And, if so; what statistics and standards do you use, for that?

Mrs. Englander, you should take the time fixing the measuring system -- and find out how to simply FIX the problem -- AND THEN DO SO! Does it matter by what percentage it needs fixing?]

New Blog: http://ZumaDogg.com - Now on WordPress, New Look, New Focus: "How To 'Fix' L.A. City" - Zuma Dogg for Los Angeles Mayor

[PICTURED: Saltsburg/Dogg - 05-16-12]

As I shift focus from exposing fraud, waste & abuse; now that it so very well covered across all forms of media (which was not the situation, when Zuma Dogg started, six years ago). Even over the past few months, the flood gates have opened, with even mainstream media, that used to "protect" City Hall, now on the blogger's bandwagon (we TOLD you so). AND, the FBI probes City Hall on things Zuma Dogg complained to them about.

So the shift in focus, is going "Back in Time" for Zuma Dogg, to his pre-gadfly days, his pre-comedy days...back to his early radio management days, when he was spending long days in seminar rooms, listening to top-priced, world-class, management, research and marketing consultants, both on and off the job.

This material served me well. I started reading and listening to it, while in college in Columbus, Ohio; and my radio career took me to places like D.C., Houston, New York City and L.A.

And I feel the time is now for the Legendary, Prophetic Icon to apply it to the current situation in L.A. City ("the more with less era"). You may not care about this approach, yet. But, ZD is used to no one caring about what he is saying, until one to three years later. So, I am doing the blogging for when you are ready to read it then.

I revamped ZumaDogg.com for more of a "consultant" look and will be the place I will be leaving the "most substantive and most legendary" portion of my already stunning legacy. If you care about the future of the city, and are not "nutty," you may enjoy the new look, tone and content at ZumaDogg.com.

A TOTAL EMPOWERMENT ZONE from a LIVING ICON.

Deming sent me a letter a praise.

Tony Robbins bowed down to me on his own stage. (First, and only time he ever did that, I was told.)

Bob Pittman (CEO/Clear Channel) is a fan of my material, and invited me to his office when he was President of Time/Warner, Inc.

Al Ries & Jack Trout (my mentors that I dreams of speaking with one day, when I first read their books) spent hours on the phone speaking with me about their material (translated into fifteen languages); and they both have also sent letters of praise for my interpretation of their material (Marketing Stategy).

And I went from Ohio State college student/part time radio gig, to New York City skyscraper, and was elevated to "guru," status by the top corporate movers and shakers of the radio and record industry.

I'm doing THAT routine at ZumaDogg.com. You may not "dig" it, but no need to second guess. Hope you DO "dig," and ARE inspired in your own right, by the material I am presenting, these days, for these days.

Los Angeles Daily Blog: Zuma Dogg for Los Angeles Mayor 2013 [Videos & Link to OFFICIAL Campaign Site] READ STATEMENT FROM MR. DOGG, HERE.

Welcome to the re-vamped http://LADailyBlog.com.

My name is David Saltsburg. (Also known as "Zuma Dogg.")

For the past six years, I have been following Los Angeles City Hall, and have shared my experiences via blog, radio, TV and newspapers. Most of you reading this blog are aware of these efforts.

And, most of you reading are aware of the "crisis" situation the municipality known as "City of Los Angeles" is facing. That means it is a crisis WE are facing. (I don't know if corporations are people, but I do believe municipalities are people, or at least have substantial impact on them.)

We all do what we can as residents, activists, gadflies, bloggers and community members to help shape the direction of the community toward the goal of improvement.

At this time, it would be irresponsible of me to blog about any specific city issue, if my goal is to improve the city, other than efforts toward the goal of having L.A. City Hall implement "Methods for Management of Quality & Productivity."

I present this argument (reasons they must be implemented before anything else is even considered, let alone discussed) -- along with specific application of "Quality & Productivity" philosophy to City of L.A. -- at LACityNews.com (Official Zuma Dogg for L.A. Mayor 2013 site.)

Watch some videos and get a sense of what ACTUAL "Quality & Productivity" talk sounds like, and what Zuma Dogg feels the job of mayor should be. It's not about how much money I have raised as a candidate, or chances of winning. THAT talk will NEVER move the city forward toward the goal of "FIXING L.A. City." And I haven't been hearing any actual methods in which to achieve any goals that are being promised to voters.

It is MY belief that until City Hall commits to "Q&P" as described in the videos at LACityNews.com, the city will continue to spiral into total helplessness...and then, GOOD LUCK on whatever it was you were hoping for!

Thank You,
Saltsburg/Dogg

Zuma Dogg for L.A. City Mayor 2013 - Show #6 [WENDY GREUEL'S ANTI-QUALITY & PRODUCTIVITY TALK]

The platform of my 2013 Los Angeles mayoral campaign is implementing "Quality & Productivity" at L.A. City Hall. That is the mayor's job in 2013 and beyond.

And after reading this quote in a blog post from RonKayeLA.com, Loss Angeles City Controller (and fellow mayoral candidate) Wendy Greuel came to mind:

“The vision is for this to be a city where people feel they can get a good public education and not spend their life on the freeways creating smog. It would be a city where you graduate from college and find a job. I imagine a city that is manageable in terms of quality of life, good recreation, parks, public libraries. My vision of L.A. is one that allows us to say that you can really achieve your dreams.” - Wendy "Greuesome" Greuel campaign flyer. on RonKayeLA

TWO (2) POINTS from Deming's 14 Points IMMEDIATELY come to mind: 10. Eliminate slogans, exhortations and targets for the work force asking for zero defects and new levels of productivity. Such exhortations only create adversarial relationships, as the bulk of the causes of low quality and low productivity belong to the system and this lie beyond the power of the work force.

Deming calls them, "EMPTY EXHORTATIONS," and they seem to be the foundation of Ms. Greuel's entire mayoral campaign. Easy to read off a Santa Claus X-MAS list of what constitutes a perfect city, where everyone gets a good education, as they take mass transit to the job they were handed, upon graduation from college and we all meet at Mocha on Saturday morning -- and everyone is achieving their dreams.

BUT ZUMA DOGG ASKS, "BY WHAT METHOD?" THIS IS A JOKE! "A leader is practical. They have a plan, not too difficult." - Deming (READ THE LAUNDRY LIST OF ALL GREUEL IS GOING TO MAKE HAPPEN. Sounds great! HOW, Wendy?] And in this video, Mr. Dogg applies "Q&P" to Controller Greuel in the, "that's not my job/not my department" area. Quality & Productivity's main goal is to remove barriers within departments that create loser-dummy talk, like "that's not my job," (after you were elected to do the job.) Plus, MORE on Zuma Dogg's vision of what the JOB of mayor SHOULD be.

VIDEO: David "Zuma Dogg" Saltsburg Delivers Speech and Answers Questions at Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Forum [An L.A. Political Icon SPEAKS on, "What It Will Take To FIX Los Angeles"] 17 mins

After six years of relentless investigation of L.A. City Hall -- along with the six years of exposing it throughout various forms of media, throughout Los Angeles, it is a pleasure to be able to move forward and ahead, this 2013 L.A. Mayoral Campaign season, by focusing almost entirely on bringing my major market radio management experience to the position of mayor, and highlighting the single most critical need for L.A. City Hall, at this time: "Methods for Management of Quality & Productivity." This is Zuma Dogg as "L.A. Mayoral Candidate David 'Zuma Dogg' Saltsburg," in a nice new suit, with a nice, new, clean shave and haircut: BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY in his "Candidate for Mayor" persona and delivery. A damn near 1%'er, if you didn't know any better. Enjoy Mr. Dogg in with a decorum ZD's mom and Eric Garcetti can actually sit through:

EVEN BETTER: Walk with Zuma Dogg as he runs through his radio management background; and applies what he learned ("Quality & Productivity Management," "Marketing Warfare Strategy," and "Communication Sciences") to job of Mayor of Los Angeles. Mr. Saltsburg believes the job of mayor is not to take control of city council, because that is not the mayor's job. The mayor's job is that of a manager, to keep the trees trimmed, the streets clean, the departments functioning and operating, and continue to improve the process of providing customer service and satisfaction to the customer (residents/business owner/entrepreneurs.) That is done by being the orchestrator and facilitator between all city departments, toward the goal of breaking down department barriers (red tape/bureaucracy) and having them work together:
