Mayor Villaraigosa Says Layoffs To Hit LA City Workers: Sagging Housing and Stagnant Job Growth Blamed, Not Corruption

Way to run the show Antonio! You done your city proud! How about "belt-tightening" the fraud, waste and abuse!

DUE TO SAGGING HOUSING AND JOB MARKET (NOT POLITICAL MISMANAGEMENT) VILLARAIGOSA ANNOUNCES JOB LAYOFFS TO HIT CITY WOKERS STARTING IN JULY:
LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is making plans to lay off city workers to help close a looming budget gap.

The mayor's office said Wednesday that the layoffs are expected to come after July 1.

The mayor's office did not say how many of the city's approximately 40,000 workers would be cut loose to help close a spending hole as big as $500 million.

The sagging housing market and stagnant job growth are being blamed for the city's shaky financial condition. [HOW ABOUT FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE!?!?!]

At the same time, the first-term mayor says he plans to continue hiring more police officers. The city has witnessed a surge in gang violence in recent weeks.
