Showdown at Wyvernwood: Round One Starts Today in Boyle Heights

Today is the first of three public hearings over the proposed Wyvernwood Apartment demolition/gentrification plan that would pave the way for Steve Fink's 15 Group new Wyvernwood housing project.

You may remember when Councilmember Antonio Viagraosa was running for Mayor and had to give back some of that campaign contribution money from the Florida developers. And you may remember reading the blog posts on Mayor Sam's blog about Councilmember Jose Huizar's secret trip to the Superbowl in Florida two years ago to pick up some cashola to spread around.

WELL THAT IS ALL ABOUT THIS! It's called "Wyvernwood". And although the developers want to move ahead with the demolition (including historic buildings and protected oak trees that may or may not have already been cut down in violation of State law) --

the residents of Boyle Heights seem to favor moving ahead with a full EIR and have the results available for the public.

Today is the first of three public (jokes of a) hearing where the City will pretend to listen to feedback from the community, even though every knows if Antonio doesn't make this project happen -- there may not be any more Antonio. So if the mayor has to tear down the White House to make this project happen...he's gonna dig in and do whatever it takes to make these developers happy.

And little Weezy is stuck going along for the ride, too. You see, the story of Jose Huizar is similar to that of young Annikin Skywalker. He crossed over to the dark side and now he can't get the Darth Vader helmet off his head.

Have fun at the Planning Hearing in Boyle Heights. THE COMMUNITY AIN'T BUYIN' IT!

La Gente of Boyle Heights call this "gentrification" at the shadiest level. And if those people are demolished and kicked out into the streets by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, he's gonna have to change his name again, cause that name will be political toast in East L.A.

Villaraigosa=Voterepellent

Adios Douchetonio...by the time Huizar cleans this mess up for you, a whole lot more will come to light and this could be the death nail of the Villaraigosa administration.
