Why is it an Urgent Meeting
Approximately 1,800 apartments are being torn down at the Wyvernwood Apartments to build approximately 7200 units with under ground parking a possibility of 5 or more stories high causing population growth for Boyle Heights more than we currently have in addition more vehicles on our streets besides the flow of traffic we already face at Olympic & Soto Street. We hear so many complaints about the traffic jam bumper-to-bumper between Olympic and Whittier Blvd. on Soto Street could you imagine the impact these units would have on our Boyle Heights commuters!
Now here is the other sad story causing hardship to our Boyle Heights residents with children including low income families not able to afford the cost of moving out and the cost of higher rents etc. This also affects the minors by moving out to new communities and losing their long term friendships etc. I see a humanity injustice for hundreds of families with children. Some of these families have lived in these apartments for a few generations and have become Senior Citizens etc.
Those that are homeowners like myself it will affect us as well during our travel from one end to another end of town in Boyle Heights due to traffic etc.
We need to show support for our renters living at the Wyvernwood Apartments that these apartments not be torn down to build new units furthermore it is not a Historical site being they are over 50 years old since they were build back in the 50’s?
Please have a heart and attend to this meeting to say no to these new units, not good news for our neighborhood, not good news to displace these families save the Wyvernwood Apartments!
