[PICTURED: First station to pay ZD to program hits in the 80's. Trying to re-create a typical day on Pandora.]
In the 80's, I was traversing the country from Columbus to K.C., D.C., Houston, NYC and L.A. programming Top 40 radio stations playing the music of the 80's, that still sounds good, today.
When you think of the 80's on the radio, it usually splinters into quirky, new-wave, one-hit wonders...and we got those loaded up...but Top-40 was pretty broad, so ZD's 80's radio has new wave (New Order, Depeche Mode, etc.), funk (Gap Band, Prince, etc.), rock (Def Leppard, Poison, etc.), pop (Journey, Madonna, etc.) & one hit wonders (too numerous to mention -- and Michael Jackson isn't one of them, but is also included!).
Sometimes Pandora slips in something off target, but overall, here's ZD's "Flashback Friday" radio, to give you an authentic 80's radio experience. http://bit.ly/ot2LhH
