COUNCIL MEETING AUDIO: City Pension Expert Explains How Villaraigosa "PACKS" Pension Board (Blueprint For $7 Billion Pension Corruption!)

I know Councilmember Dennis Zine will be on Doug McIntryre's 790 KABC/Los Angeles morning drive radio show on Friday to talk about the pension scandal that City Council finally addressed this week, after numerous public comment requests by Zuma Dogg. It was the DREAM agenda item of all time for Big ZD, because a panel of the three city pension funds and their experts were forced to admit all the stuff Zuma Dogg has been complaining about. HA HA! No one can ever say I am not completey, 100% DEAD ON THE (DEAD) MONEY ON THIS ONE! And it's the BIGGEST "ONE" OF ALL TIME!

Point is, although it will be a great introductory discussion of this matter on Doug's show, I know the Councilmember won't really be able to get into the true details of the shadiness (on the mayor's part and lay it all out the way ZD is able to as someone who not only studied it beyond anything anyone would want to understand, but because it's COMPLETELY understandable that a Councilmember isn't going to rock the boat THAT hard. (So maybe Doug will give me a couple minutes to fill in some of the "in between" details on Villar's scheme after Dennis hangs up.

HOWEVER, I don't know if Doug will have audio from the meeting, but here are two clips I went back and found from the meeting that may be helpful in preparation of the segment and it is cleared by the Brown Act for airing.

LISTEN TO THIS ONE ON "PACKING" OF THE PENSION BOARD!!! It explains how this scheme occurs as chronicled by Zuma Dogg as it was happening under Mayor Villaraiogsa.

Good things ahead for 790-KABC/Los Angeles As David G. Hall Becomes Director of Operations

One of my biggest frustrations with local talk radio stations like 790 KABC is when local talk show hosts spend time talking about national issues, after we just sat through several hours of nationally syndicated programming (without ANY local issues being discussed.) And a couple talk show hosts and their producers are fully aware that Zuma Dogg feels this way, as I will call on the phone to tell them.

I THINK GOOD NEWS IS ON THE WAY (even though it will be mostly bad news being delivered)!

AM 790-KABC/Los Angeles has hired David G. Hall as the new Director of Operations. David was the guy who turned KFI into the powerhouse that it is. David may, or may not, realize that he knows Zuma Dogg. David knows Zuma Dogg from his radio days when he was going by the name DJ radio monikor "Dave Elliott."

Zuma Dogg was writing a bunch of articles on "marketing strategy" for the radio industry. And Hall was quick to pick up the phone and say how much he liked the stuff I was writing, and he invited me down to the station, and we chatted. It was about the first week I moved to Los Angeles.

Expect David to REALLY boost up the local news department and expect MUCH MORE City Hall coverage. And overall, as one of the biggest AM talk radio fans/listeners in the city, I'm stoked David is taking over KABC.

I love Doug McIntyre's show, but I wonder if David Hall will be comfortable tuning in to a round-the-clock infomercial for Wacko Walter's niche campaign?

Zuma Dogg Discusses City Economics With 790 KABC's Curtis Sliwa (from New York City)

ZUMA on CURTIS SLIWA'S KABC SHOW: Thanks to U.S. Icon, Guardian Angle Founder Curtis Sliwa for taking Zuma's call this morning on 790 KABC Radio. ZD was at the beach in Malibu and Curtis was broadcasting LIVE from NYC...so it was a true coast to coast moment.

ZD had to give props to Curtis for covering the agenda item from yesterday's City Council meeting discussing new and creative ways to generate revenue/income for LA City in the face of a $500-$700 budget deficit and overall Citywide crisis.

Zuma said, "I was at the Council meeting yesteday for that item and economist Jack Keyer warned Council that housing foreclosures are going to be worse than expected in ways we haven't see yet. And he said that Downtown LA Live would not generate the demand needed and visitors to L.A. will still be going to Beverly Hills to shop." (Same problem with Grand Ave Project, but that one will probably never see a ribbon cutting ceremony, anyway.)

ZD added, "And the city will be looking for new and creative ways to tax people like trash collection fees, twenty-five cents per plastic bag at the grocery shop -- and my inside sources tell me that City Hall is ready to unveil a 2.5% "personal income tax."

At this point, Curtis allowed me to speak for such a long streak (without the usual interruption by the talk show host to weigh-in) that I thought I was either cut off, or had lost the cell phone signal...but I kept talking:

Zuma continued, "But the number one problem I see in the city regards non-profit abuse. There is Federal, State and local money handed out for things like Charter Schools and to provide services throughout the City. Well, the politicians hand out patronage contacts to their friends and family with front-end loaded contracts; then skim the money; they say there isn't enough to get the job done; they ask for more; and the people don't get what they were promised."

At this point, Curtis finally cut in and I realized the whole long speech went out over the air, in a prime mid-day timeslot that "Zuma" has never appeared on. And it was with Curtis Sliwa, who I have not only followed since the 70's...but he has absolutely been knockin' it out of the park while filling in for Al Rantel.

Curtis agreed with ZD over the non-profit abuse and added an example from the New York City area, as well.

So to summarize: At a City Council meeting discussing ways to generate income for the city, Jack Keyser mentioned that housing foreclosures will be worse than anticipated and that LA Live will not generate revenue they hope for since the type of shopping (boutique upscale shops) are not what people want and they will still go to Beverly Hills for shopping. Adding that the City should be putting the type of retail people who live Downtown need. (ZD adds: Staples, Costco, groceries, etc.) ZD added that insiders say a 2.5% "Personal Income Tax" will be a part of Council's new revenue generating measures. (Along with more paid building namings like "Staples Center" or "Nokia Live". So look for the "Kotex Tampon Playground" coming to a neighborhood near your. And closed with the "non-profit abuse" rundown for the new KABC midday audience, with Sliwa noting that ZD was correct and added his own examples from NYC.

BOTTOM, BOTTOM LINE: They wasted the money and now the City is becoming a waste.
