Los Angeles City Council Approves DWP Rate Hike on the Power Side, But Water Increase Will Come Back for Second Vote Next Week

Los Angeles City Council just passed the DWP increase relating to the electric power increase, but CMs Dennis Zine and Janice Hahn voted "no" on the water increase, so without the unanimous vote, the water increase will be coming back for a second vote, next week, and will only need a simple majority vote, which looks like they will get.

ZUMA'S BATCOMPUTER CALLED IT (Posted earlier this morning): The DWP Rate hike increase discussion is under way inside Los Angeles City Council chambers. ZD's Batcomputer just made the following calculation: "The power increase should pass, but the water side...not so sure." And it sounds to ZD like the chance of a unanimous vote is quickly flying out the window, which means the item would have to come back again, next week for another vote. (And thanks to ZD's super-inside source for being right! I'm not smart enough to make these calls. It's all about contacts, y'all!)
