Talk about a "Joint Resolution" Los Angeles City Council Votes To Ask The President and Congress To Back-off of State Marijuana Clinics

Los Angeles City Council voted "yes" today (9 to 1, CM Smith the only "No") on a resolution that requests Congress and the President to end the Drug Enforcement Agency's attack on our State medical marijuana law.

Congratulations to CM Dennis Zine for changing his stance on the Medical Marijuana issue. I know that initially, last year, he had some concerns and he researched the issue thoroughly (although I'm sure not as thoroughly as Zuma Dogg has) and now he is in support of the Medical clinics.

CM Janice Hahn noted that she doesn't want to see LAPD using their already thin resources assisting the DEA on clinic busts.

One concern is that some of these clinics are a little shady. Zuma Dogg has spot checked TONS of clinics in town, and I have had to show my drivers license AND original doctor prescription -- EVERY SINGLE TIME! Plus, every clinic I have ever gone to, verifies the prescription on by phone on the first visit (and I have even been refused entry on more than one occasion if the doctor's office is not open to verify.

CM Zine assures the public, as does ZD, that if any of these clinics ARE operating under shady circumstances, they will be busted by DEA or LAPD. But remember, these clinics run such tight shops because they HAVE A LICENSE TO SELL WEED!!! (And they don't wanna mess that up.)

If there is anything to crack down on, it's the shady doctors who are "prescription filling factories".

(Does this new resolution mean Zuma Dogg can eat hash brownies in Council Chambers?)
