READER MAIL: L.A. City Councilman Jose Huizar May End Up In HOT WATER (Scolding Hot) If He Doesn't Chill on The "Broadway Is Back" Corruption

Zuma Dogg just catching up on some of the emails from my inbox. Here's some reader mail. An opinion piece?

Re: Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar/Corruption
You mention the Delijani family wanting a new parking structure, somehow paid for by the city. However, no other theater owner agrees. Huizar needs money for his shill non-profit and hit up Delijani for it, Delijani said no.
In an act of the most severe type of political corruption, Huizar renamed a national historical landmark, the end point of Route 66 at 7th and Broadway, to "Delijani Square", after which Delijani then donated big to "Bringing Back Broadway".
Many sources are following this paper trail of corruption, and it may not be long before corruption charges will follow, including Federal charges of racketeering and money laundering:
Scenario: Delijani wants City to buy him parking building, Huizar wants money for his shill non-profit that can't be provided by the City, Huizar renames national landmark after Delijani, attempts to have City purchase parking structure using tax payer money for $27M, Delijani then donates $27M to non-profit
...more to follow.

[Note: Some of you know I'm trying to expand beyond blogging this type of content, but although it's a beautiful Saturday (first one of Summer!), Huizar had to be Mr. Leader Activist against Zuma Dogg by calling for a 30 day ban, SO HERE YOU GO HUIZAR! (And when I get back, I'm gonna check your Blackberry for love notes from your mistresses during the council meeting. Save that sh*t for OUTSIDE council chambers, you no-heart, emotionally weak, over-your-head, punk! FEDERAL EYES ARE ALL OVER YOU AS MUCH AS YOUR MISTRESSES IN DA CLUB!]

FEDERAL AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING PAYMENTS TO L.A. CITY COUNCILMEMBER & FORMER SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER!!!

Federal Authorities Investigating Payments to LA City Councilman, Former School Board Member
Federal authorities are investigating Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar and former Los Angeles Unified School Board member David Tokofsky in connection with payments they received from a nonprofit group founded by late labor leader Miguel Contreras, the Daily Journal has learned.
The investigation involves payments by Voter Improvement Program Inc. The heart of the probe involves what, if any, work the officials completed for the roughly $30,000 in fees they were each paid while they were both sitting school board members, three sources with direct knowledge of the investigation said. At the time, school board members were paid about $24,000 a year for their official duties.
Authorities are also investigating whether the payments from Voter Improvement Program Inc. originated from entities that had business before the school board that the two officials could influence, according to sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the investigation.
Tokofsky told the paper he was unaware that he was the subject of any federal investigation and said he was paid for legitimate work.
Huizar issued a statement through a spokesman saying that he would be willing to cooperate with any inquiry. (Oh my goodness, how guilty does that sound? How about, "There was nothing wrong and I will be vindicated." "Willing to cooperate?"

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Suffers From "Scarface Syndrome"
Zuma Dogg is always warning young people, "Beware the Scarface lesson." All the young homies like to pattern theyselves off the first part of the movie (the rise), while ignoring the second half (the downfall).
Now let's apply the "Scarface Syndrome" to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa:
Zuma Dogg's biggest complaint over the past two years has been "fraud, waste and abuse" (corruption) because this is the biggest thing you have control of. (You can't control the price of oil, but you can control fraud, waste and abuse if you want to.)
And ZD will even go as far to say, that you are always going to have intentional and un-intentional waste happening at City Hall no matter who has been mayor in the past. And not just in Los Angeles, but everywhere.
I compare it to tipping the door man at a hot club you need to get into; or paying a ticket scalper when you need great tickets for a client. So if you need to "tip" your City Hall mayor or councilmember to get things done and cut through the bureaucracy -- that's one thing.
But my complaint has been that Antonio is waaaaaaaaaaay overboard in the "shady/corruption" department. He is waaaaaaaaay too comfortable in his own perceived bubble of protection that he feels he is living in.
But I think his behavior and actions are putting himself and others at risk. Everyone is used to a certain level of "palm greasing" to get something done...but Villaraigosa is running around like Scarface at the end of the movie...waaaaaaaaaay too comfortable in his power. A feeling of being "un-touchable."
Maybe the mayor should go back and watch the second half of the movie. Cause I think he is waaaay too sloppy and with Clinton not making it to the White House, maybe some of those protections won't be there. And perhaps some investigations may catch up with him.
He's messing up big time. People around him know it. But it's like any dirty secret. You have to keep covering up, and covering up...and you have to move mountains to keep them covered up...and it all comes at a price...And ego and arrogance ends up taking you down. Too bad the damage has already been done. And we can only hope he is taken down before he spirals even further into a geometric rate of corruption.
It's a lot of pressure to live with...the constant fear that the investigation is breathing down your neck. You end up living your life like O.J.; constantly trying to keep your story all sorted out.
NO MORE SCARFACE MAYOR!!!
