Happy Fourth of July From Mayor09.com Frontrunners Villaraigosa and Zuma Dogg

Mayor09.com front runners Zuma Dogg and Antonio Villaraigosa wish all a happy and safe Fourth of July. And luckily, this will probably be the last Fourth of July that Antonio is Mayor and next Fourth of July, Mayor Zuma Dogg will sing Karaoke LIVE before all to see, instead of the fireworks display that I will cancel due to the budget crisis. If people want to see fireworks on Fourth of July, let them buy their own and shoot em off in their own backyards. Don't burden everyone in the city with the cost of your firework display that is of no real community benefit and not everyone gets to see.

Photo: Zuma Dogg Poses With Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (Suitable For Framing)

I don't know whether this will be the "Battle of the Mayors '09" photo, or not. For now, it's just two amigos coming from different sides of the rope. (Plus he accepts shady campaign contributions from developers and I don't...but besides that...just two honorary "docaillos.") If it were an election to decide who is the bigger camera whore, I wonder who would win? (Probably a tie.)

Si Perro Puede!

I think it's clear the mayor is restraining me against my will and I have a McArthur Park like lawsuit on my hands. (Why did the mayor have to touch me. I was just standing there in a public place giving a first amendment protected, free speech. Then this guy walks up behind me and holds me back...AS U CAN SEE! (Is Jackie Childes available?) And Matt Dowd looks like a happy matchmaker in the background. (We weren't there for a marriage license, Matt. Fabian is jealous enough of ZD!)

Vindictive Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Chops "Commission on the Status of Women" Bugdet With His Vindictive Axe

Zuma Times reported earlier this week that since ZD has returned to L.A., there has been an added level of people telling me that Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is using the budget crisis as a way of hanging a vindictive budget axe over people's head, if they cross him in any way. (As in voice an opinion over concern of his "bull in a china shop" dictatorial management style.)

Another department that got a major axe is the "Commission on the Status of Women."

FROM ZD'S INBOX: I would make the point if I were THEM, that Antonio has absolutely zero respect for women, as witnessed by his womanizing. So, it stands to reason that he would want to get rid of a Commission like that. I hope he loses!

HOPE THERE AREN'T ANY OTHER DEPARTMENTS CHALLENGING THE MAYOR IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. YOU MIGHT END UP HAVING TO FILE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS.

Please join Zuma Dogg in his "Anyone But Antonio" campaign for '09! Start by making your own bumper sticker or campaign button. And start putting "Anyone but Antonio in '09" at the bottom of all your emails to people.

For example, when I am at karaoke, and there is a crowd of 30 to 70 people...I'll always end my performance with, "And remember the city of Los Angeles is under attack by a corrupt mayor. Vote, 'Anyone but Antonio' in '09!"

And remember, "Anyone but Antonio in '09!"

Brought to you by the people who support, "Anyone but Antonio in '09!"

DWP on Tomorrow's Council Agenda and NEWS WIRE for 4/1/08 (All The News That's Fit To Link, and now April Fool's Jibber-Jabber)

OIL/GOLD/STOCKS: Gas prices may be at record highs, but look for prices to come back down if today is any indication. Oil dropped below $100 a barrel for the first time in a while, and gold is below $900 for the first time in a while. (A while being earlier this year.) Oil is at $100/barrel and gold is $896 at 9:00 AM EST. (Gold was $1000 plus a week, or two ago.) The Dow Jones look to be up at the bell, but there is still big problems with the economy, and long term ZD feels the market won't be so bullish in '08. (But that don't mean today won't be fun for bullish traders. Or maybe the bearish-minded people will use today as an opportunity to see into the rally.

DWP RATE INCREASE: Back on the L.A. City Council agenda for tomorrow (Wed 4/2/08). It was continued from last week as 11 councilmembers needed more time to figure it all out. CM Parks said that if he had to vote then (last Tuesday) he would have voted "no". Not sure what will have changed between then and tomorrow, but maybe Nahaiarosa will get some leverage on the uncertain CMs with some very compelling information to make the argument FOR the rate increases that for some reason wasn't looked at, yet. (And remember, isn't Antonio backing CM Parks for his run for County Board of Stupidvisors? How can Parks say no to Antonio's DWP rate hike? Plus, now there are nine amendments. It could be continued again. (I wonder how much "negotiating" is going on in violation of the Brown Act?) One things for sure: It would be surprising if the rate hike is passed unanimously after a few CMs expressed their feelings over the matter. (So unless some serious whips were cracking from the mayor's office, don't look for the rate hike to OFFICIALLY pass, cause unless it's unanimous -- it comes back for one more vote in a week's time. (Of course this rate hike is going through...it's just a matter of when it's official.)

LA Times Hammers Villaraigosa As "Missing In Action"

[Wonder how much that kiss cost the city? AND, WHO THE HELL IS RUNNING THE CITY...ROBIN KRAMER? (How about an elected official?)]

The Los Angeles mayor recently has spent a total of almost three weeks stumping for presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton.
By Duke Helfand, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
March 3, 2008
For more than 2 1/2 years, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been the public face of Los Angeles, appearing in one neighborhood after the next and often leading the nightly news.

But over the last two months, he has devoted noticeable time and energy to a cause outside the city. By today, the mayor will have spent 18 of the last 65 days on the road for presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) -- visiting Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and Texas as the primary election season has intensified.

Mayor Villaraigosa Loses Election in Landslide (on LAdailyblog's Readers Poll )

If only the everyone in the city felt the same way LAdailyblog.com readers felt, the world would be a much better place.

LADailyBlog.com Poll Results:

Do You Want Mayor Villaraigosa To Be Re-Elected?

Yes, Re-elect: 13 (20%)

No, Change The Batter: 50 (79%)

Not tons of votes, but enough to see, statistically, that readers of LAdailyblog.com are no fan of the mayor, collectively speaking. Meanwhile, thanks to the 20% of Antonio supporters who read this blog, too. ARE YOU F-ING CRAZY!?!? HOW COULD YOU EVEN THINK OF RE-ELECTING THIS LOSER???
