Mega-Shady Alert!: FOLLOW-UP TO TODAY'S HERB WESSON/KOREATOWN/WILSHIRE, CRA Shady Agenda Item (Citizen's Alert!)

FOLLOW-UP TO TODAY'S POST ON TODAY'S KOREATOWN/WILSHIRE, CRA PROJECT. In December, ZD was contacted about this project -- and some allegations of HARDCORE SHADINESS were thrown down. Here's an excerpt from today's post about the agenda item, followed by the post from December, WARNING of this item. Maybe the person who emailed me about this, has it ALL WRONG!

VIDEO: Shady as HELL Herb Wesson/CRA Koreatown Agenda Item for 6/8/11 (3670 Wilshire)

THIS SHADY CRA PROJECT HAS BEEN ON ZD'S RADAR SINCE THE RECENT L.A. CITY COUNCIL ELECTIONS, WHERE THIS PROJECT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION BY SOME ANTI-HERB WESSON PEOPLE, WHO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE HELD HOSTAGE BY HIS OFFICE. Here is a project they feel is illegal and shady as hell. It IS a CRA project and Herb Wesson. Here's the intro: Today's agenda item at the council meeting. I'm sure you will hearing much, much more about this. Hopefully, not in FBI transcripts.

ZUMA DOGG'S BIG QUESTION: HOW MUCH MONEY WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM OTHER CRA PROJECT DISTRICTS TO USE FOR THIS PROJECT? (Will follow up with a post containing some DAMNING emails with info on how this whole project was, "fudged," to say the least.

Fiscal Impact Statement: The CRA reports that there is no fiscal impact to the City's General Fund as a result of this action. (That's what they all say!)

Community Impact Statement: None submitted. (No problemo! I'm sure it's all hunky-dory!)

(Housing, Community and Economic Development Committee waived consideration of the above matter) (Nothing to consider...Herb has to get this done!)

AND GUESS WHAT...when you add up all the multi-millions and millions of dollars on this project, at the end of the day, there's no need to watch this video, really; because it's only public comments, mostly from people sent there to "rah-rah" the project for the cameras and for the record.

FOR ALL OF THIS MONEY AND MAGNITUDE OF THIS "FOOTBALL STADIUM SIZED" CRA PROJECT...NOT ONLY WAS CONSIDERATION WAIVED AT COMMITTEE...THEY JUST OPENED THE ROLL AND TABULATED THE UNANIMOUS VOTE, WITHOUT ONE SECOND OF DISCUSSION BY COUNCIL! Herb did not even mention a word, explaining a thing about this project, like the community benefit.

See full post with agenda item and video from 6/8/11 L.A. City Council meeting, HERE.

Has HERB WESSON Been Funneling CRA Money From Wilshire-Koreatown Area to Mid Cities Project Area FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS? (Why would he do that?$?$

HERE'S A FOLLOW UP TO THE BLOG POST FROM YESTERDAY...AND, it IS Mr. Herb Wesson who is subject of the alleged shadiness. But Zuma Dogg thinks it more than "alleged." No wonder Herb looks so happy. Do you KNOW how much developers "kick-back" to you if you can funnel CRA money around?

L.A. Daily Blog Reader Mail:

ZD,

Has Herb Wesson been funneling CRA project money from the Wilshire Center - Koreatown project area to the Mid Cities project area over the last 4 years through "findings of benefit" -- based on shaky justifications at best? (More like lies in reality).

He has allegedly been trying to merge the two project areas so the funds can be transferred without these findings of benefits...but the Koreatown community is trying to fight back.

It is also alleged that Herb Wesson's deputy in Koreatown is a bully/thug who bullies the Koreatown community. And in return for city services, like conditional use permits, he asks for money.

INVESTIGATOR ALERT - L.A. City News Presents - L.A. City Hall, Blueprint of Corruption

DO NOT BE BAMBOOZLED...The tweets contained in this blog post is enough to have all the wrong people dragged out in handcuffs, alone. (And they should have been more careful not to violate my rights and cause me to have to take further 1st Amendment recourse, here on this blog.)

ALSO, refresh to the top of this blog for a week's worth of "L.A. City Hall - Blueprint of Corruption" for the news that's REALLY worth printing...the relationship between City Hall, certain developers, billionaires & non profits; -- all co-mingling in a cahootism racket with the CRA.

I ain't posting random jibber-jabber...if I've posted it, this week and this blog...THAT'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW TO SHUT DOWN CORRUPTION THE WAY THEY JUST DID IN NEW JERSEY. (Here in L.A., the cast of "The Sopranos" all happen to work inside City Hall and within the various departments they have infiltrated. But be it Huizar or Martinez...really won't change much. Higher local powers run these districts...KEEP READING for the "A-B-C's of L.A. SHA-DY!

CM Janice Hahn Speaks Out Against LA City Council's New "Denstiy Bonus" Incentive Bonanza

I didn't see anything about this in the LA Times, but it kinda hit ZD as the biggest thing to hit the City of Los Angeles in years when it comes to traffic, density and lack of infrastructure to accommodate the density that will be created by the new "density bonus" City Council is offering developers.

Click here for Item 45 from the LA City Council Agenda from 2/13/08
to see the heated debate between Janice Hahn, CM Tom LaBonge and CM Bill Rosendahl vs Eric Garshady and the rest of his developer puppets. In all my time following the council meetings, this was about the most lively debate, yet -- as opposed to the usual dog and pony show, non-debate. (It actually didn't pass unanimously. Hahn, LaBonge and Rosendahl voted "no".) You have to make it past CM Reyes who opens the debate, and will put you to sleep, but it picks up into a great reality show-style actual debate.

CM Wendy Greuel informed the public that, "I feel the reason we have the traffic today is because there is not enough affordable housing near where people work." (Near transit hubs.)

Sorry Wendy, I'm not sure if the public is going to be buying your logic that the City of LA's traffic problems are due to not enough affordable housing near transit lines??? (Nice try, though.) I hope you were just spinning and not actually that dumb.

Rhodes Scholarmember Eric Garcetti has a much more smugtelligent justification trying to spin that the reason neighborhoods are suffering from intolerable levels of congestion, traffic, smog and density side effects is -- because the city has NOT built all the new housing to accommodate all the new residents, so the City is forcing them to stay two families or more per household.

Common Garshmetti...I hope you don't believe your own small "d" free speech...the reason people live two families per household is because rents have skyrocketed, along with all the other fees, taxes and expenses associated with your fraud, waste and abuse. (Mismanagement of public funds, and now you have to tax and fee hike your way out of it.) If you create all this new and added density, you still haven't built new roads, parking, related infrastructure impacts -- and you have not yet invented de-hydrated water -- or some kind of synthetic water. (What's wrong with you Eric? AND...make sure you tell mic operator to turn your mics down when you are whispering to Rosendahl and he is heard saying to you in response, "What's the deal?" (YIKES!!! It's on the TV 35 archives, if you pay REALLY close attention. LOL!)

Congtats and thanks to CM Tom LaBonge (I won't call you LaBong, today, since you did good)...who stood up and wanted 60 days to figure this all out, and talk surrounding cities in the region to make sure we weren't doing too much heavy lifting that would only benefit the rest of the region.

Here's the closest thing to any coverage of this item from yesterday at latimes.com by Zahnhiser

Zuma Dogg's previous thread on this council item from this week. that will give a little more background.

And if any of you "In the Know Insiders" have any of the real angles on this, send your analysis to zumadogg@gmail.com. We know this is just a way to change zoning laws to allow added density to be allowed, to favor developers and their special interests -- wrapped up in a warm and fuzzy "affordable housing" bamboozle. Even Janice Hahn says we are giving away a lot. It goes against everything we've been trying to preserve in the City of Los Angeles. Questions why we are making it easier when we know it will frustrate community members who have worked so hard to preserve some of these things. And she is concerned that under this new ordinance, public hearings are not triggered, anymore.

BUT BESIDES THAT, SHE LOVES IT AS MUCH AS GARSHADY!!!

Since ZD wasn't there for public comment, I had Coucilmama Janice Hahn pinch hit for me, and deliver this public comment about the new density bonus ordinance.
