via LA Times: Janice Hahn, Craig Huey congressional race gets even nastier (As Hahn Is Up Against Ropes, Getting More Desperate)

[Pictured: A frustrated union worker called Zuma Dogg's whistle-blower phone to say, "if you wanna do business in the Port, you gotta pay Janice, extra. (I don't know what that means?)]

Just when you wondered whether the special runoff election between Janice Hahn and Craig Huey could get any more contentious ... it has.

Both sides came out swinging Thursday. Her campaign launched a new TV spot charging that the Republican businessman helped his marketing clients rip off senior citizens with investment schemes and phony cures for Alzheimer’s, while one of his supporters filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, accusing the Democratic Los Angeles city councilwoman of violating campaign laws in her automated phone calls to voters.

Huey and Hahn are vying in the July 12 election to fill the 36th Congressional District seat left vacant by the February resignation of then-Rep. Jane Harman (D-Venice).

Since the two topped a 16-candidate field in May to win spots on the runoff ballot, the campaigns have grown increasingly contentious. She (L.A. City Councilmember Janice Hahn) is a "career politician" who played fast and loose with the taxpayers' money, said Huey.

One of Hahn's campaign strategists, Joe Trippi, highlighted the TV ad by linking to it in a piece he wrote for the Huffington Post.

In a written complaint to the FEC, Redondo Beach resident William Schmidt said the Hahn campaign violated disclosure laws by making automated telephone calls to voters without including the required identification of who paid for the calls. In the message, a woman who identified herself as a Republican criticized Huey and urged a vote for Hahn.

The Huey campaign noted that Hahn was fined $500 in connection with her 2009 City Council reelection campaign after failing to provide the city, as required, with a copy of the script for an automated campaign phone message.

DO NOT VOTE FOR JANICE HAHN! I have followed her as Los Angeles City Councilmember for five years and she has been driving the bandwagon that pulled the city to the edge of bankruptcy and reduction of critical services, like fire and police. Parks have closed. Libraries have closed. Janice Hahn has voted "yes" on everything that created this dangerous municipal mess. (CHECK HER VOTING RECORD! IT IS POSTED AT http://LACity.org.) Her mouth and mind is a dangerous threat to the region. Don't allow her to chip away at the U.S. The country cannot afford the pilferage she requires to allow business/commerce to flow through her district. If you don't wanna vote for her opponent, either...JUST STAY HOME...DO NOT VOTE FOR HER. DO NOT BE A DUMB SUCKER!

JANICE "CON" HAHN EXPOSED: Here is video of the Fox 11 News report that recently BLEW UP all across the internet. (She didn't sue/litigate. Fox 11 didn't retract, correct or apologize. Stands as factual!)

BREAKING via LA Times - JULY 1, 2011: Audits Show FLAWS in L.A. City's "Gold Card" VIP Ticket Dismissal Program (JANICE HAHN USED IT 150 TIMES!?!?! Program Being Investigated!!!)

Ad Hoc Meeting on L.A's (Alleged) NFL Stadium, DWP Ratepayer Legalease Committee Report & City Hall "Adjusts" Non-Union City Workers Pay & Pension

[Pictured: ZD tweets from top of the mountain of his undisclosed annex blogging studio.]

DAMN! City of Los Angeles caving in from the shadiness, when ZD takes a peek at the agendas (City Council and Committee Meetings from yesterday and today.) Here are links to PDF reports on TOP CITY ISSUES you have been reading about. Plus, links to any other L.A. City related story, ZD looked at. (Plus, RANTS!)

NOTE: L.A. City Council President Eric "Garshady" Garcetti wraps up his (final) term as President? New vote for next term during the Council meeting on Friday, July 1st. Word is Herb Wesson has the votes to become next Council president. (Eric is supposed to be stepping down to focus on his mayoral candidacy.) Zuma Dogg has been conspiratorial as to why he hasn't announced an exploratory committee to being fundraising, since the other city hall candidates (plus Austin Beutner) already have raised over $200,000, each. The conspiracy theory running through ZD's hopeful mind is he has to wait, cause his office has been questioned by the FBI over the Bonnie Brae affordable housing project in his district. And there IS a massive investigation into city hall, with phones being tapped and wires being worn for over two years, now. SO MAYBE HE DOESN'T WANT TO ANNOUNCE TILL HE'S SURE HE'S CLEARED (or not). OR, maybe he'll step down as council president, by design, and announce he's running for mayor. (Although he's got ZERO chance of winning.)

Zuma Dogg L.A. City Political RANTS for a "Slow News Day" 6/29/11

[Pictured: Villar explains how the baton is to be passed. "It's easy. You just tell them what they want to hear during the campaign, then don't worry, cause you can just shut your door and you have security to buffer you from people, and I just built a wall around the Getty house." I think Austin gets it!]

You'll see in the tweets below, the Austin Beutner campaign sent Zuma Dogg an unsolicited invitation to his series of campaign fundraising events, this week, and ZD decided not to reject the billionaire, and felt it would be a nice community experience, so I RSVP'd for the Venice event. I received a personal thank you reply, confirming my attendance. I saw the invitation said, "Venice" and sent the invite to the person driving me to the event, and didn't think to look for the SPECIFIC address, till my ride was here and it was time to leave. OH SNAP...no address on the invite...no address on the RSVP confirmation reply. I called the number on the invite. Double SNAP...no answer at the fundraising office, that sent the invitation. So I checked the http://AustinBeutnerForLA.org (official) website, (not to be confused with the Zuma Dogg owned URL, http://AustinBeutnerForMayor.com) -- and STRIKE THREE SNAP..."website coming soon." (Except for the contribution link, that is already set up...but NO INFO on the events.) SO MY BAD for not checking for the exact address, yesterday, with enough time to email the campaign for the address.

But, Dr. Deming, of Quality & Productivity fame, would say, it is NOT UP TO THE CUSTOMER (Zuma Dogg) to have to double his efforts to track down the address, because then defect/error can occur. As in, Zuma Dogg doesn't make it to the event, and now, instead of supporting the campaign, can only focus on the lack of quality and productivity (customer satisfaction that he talks about, that led me to believe he has embraced Deming's 14 Points of Quality & Productivity, but I am thinking he may only know how to spit out the empty exhortations...and there IS a difference. Me, personally...I've been published INTERNATIONALLY on the topic of Deming's 14 Points (Quality & Productivity) and Deming sent me a letter of praise for my efforts, himself. (As did Tony Robbins and a bunch of people in skyscrapers in New York City.) So when ZD spits the exhortations, they ain't empty one's, y'all...they come from the foundation of profound knowledge of the system. (See: "Quality & Productivity.)

AND NOW THAT I'M IN A CRANKY MOOD...I ENDED UP TAKING IT OUT ON A LOT OF L.A. CITY ELECTED DUMB-ASSES: Aka: Zuma Tweets for 6/29/11 (Pt 2):

AUDIO: Bud Ovrom Speaks at L.A. City Council Special Committee Meeting on Bribes, Corruption & FBI Investigation Into Building & Safety Department

Gotta love Twitter and related tweet products that allow Zuma Dogg to concentrate a lot of info in a little space. DO NOT BE BAMBOOZLED BY THIS SHORT POST. It contains:

1. Committee Reports from Tuesday's (6/28/11) L.A. City Council "Audits & Efficiency" Committee Meeting where Bud Ovrom informed the committee about the FBI investigation into the Building & Safety Department and takes questions from Councilmembers.

a) FULL REPORT: http://goo.gl/4pjpX (Enough content to make even Bernard Parks' head spin!)

b) INITIAL MOTION (For The Record): http://goo.gl/HIKm2

2. Audio of Bud Ovrom at the meeting, answering questions from the committee and delivering his report.
I read on another blog a few line re-cap, based on a newspaper report, of this important meeting, and you know what...I just wasn't satisfied with the spin and shallowness of the blog post coverage. I HOPE you aren't, either.

Zuma Dogg discovered, VERY QUICKLY, when I started attending these meetings -- and compared it to how other media sources re-capped and reported on what was said...I like to hear it from the original source and read the original reports. So I spent a little time going through it all, and as I listened, I recorded and uploaded the audio for the more DISCERNING blog reader.

LA CITY NEWS...the "Gray Poupon" on L.A. City News blogs. Don't settle for shallow interpretations of Ace Smith groupies or hot air complaining about the meeting.

ALSO FOR TODAY: L.A. City News Tweets for 6/29/11: Are L.A. Animal Sevices Pets Being Stolen & Sold For Profit, CalPERS Pension Fraud Covered by Los Angeles Times and MORE L.A. City News

Here is Daily News' recap of the audio and PDF Council file reports, posted above in this thread. Again, I like the re-caps, but it only makes me want to hear the original source. (ORGANIC NEWS SOURCES, Y'ALL!) So here's the mainstream update that will allow the masses to feel like they know what is going on: DAILY NEWS: Building and Safety chief outlines FBI probe, calling bribe revelations 'violations of the public trust'

AND REMEMBER, DAILY NEWS, LA TIMES and ALL THE OTHER BLOGS that will link to their stories could have provided this content. (Wish they did so I wouldn't have had to...those lazy asses get paid...I DON'T!)
