BREAKING: NFL Says, "No Immediate Plans To Return To L.A. - Requires A Stadium. Will Work With DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVES" (To L.A. City/AEG)

Goodell: L.A. team not likely for 2012

Developer Anschutz Entertainment Group's aggressive yearlong marketing push for its downtown stadium lost a whiff of momentum this week following news that the NFL isn't planning an immediate return to the area.

Speaking to reporters in Dallas on Wednesday, National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell called Los Angeles a very "viable market" but said bringing a team back to the 2012 season - which AEG had initially hoped for - isn't likely.

"(Los Angeles) is a viable market in the sense that we know there are millions of fans in that market who want to see football return there," said Goodell, according to a transcript of the news conference.

"But we want it to return in a successful way, and that requires a stadium. I don't think we'll be in a position to make that decision by 2012, but we'll continue to work with the different alternatives in Los Angeles and hope that we get a solution that will work." (As in City of Industry?)

SORRY L.A. Councilmembers Jan Perry and Bill Rosendahl. I know you both supported and wanted this. (Bill held a round of meetings to vet the project and concerns and came up with a, "SUPPORT!," position. NO WONDER IT GOT TANGLED UP -- AND L.A. CITY DROPPED THE BALL!)

Ad Hoc Meeting on L.A's (Alleged) NFL Stadium, DWP Ratepayer Legalease Committee Report & City Hall "Adjusts" Non-Union City Workers Pay & Pension

DAMN! City of Los Angeles caving in from the shadiness, when ZD takes a peek at the agendas (City Council and Committee Meetings from yesterday and today.) NOTE: L.A. City Council President Eric "Garshady" Garcetti wraps up his (final) term as President? New vote for next term during the Council meeting on Friday, July 1st. Word is Herb Wesson has the votes to become next Council president. (Eric is supposed to be stepping down to focus on his mayoral candidacy.) Zuma Dogg has been conspiratorial as to why he hasn't announced an exploratory committee to being fundraising, since the other city hall candidates (plus Austin Beutner) already have raised over $200,000, each. The conspiracy theory running through ZD's hopeful mind is he has to wait, cause his office has been questioned by the FBI over the Bonnie Brae affordable housing project in his district. And there IS a massive investigation into city hall, with phones being tapped and wires being worn for over two years, now. SO MAYBE HE DOESN'T WANT TO ANNOUNCE TILL HE'S SURE HE'S CLEARED (or not). OR, maybe he'll step down as council president, by design, and announce he's running for mayor. (Although he's got ZERO chance of winning.)

ROCKER! L.A. Pension Fraud For Dummies (Connect The Dots of 'Guilty As Charged' To Villaraigosa & CRA/LA Projects) - THIS POST CONTAINS EVERYTHING!

It's all been blogged about (pension fraud, that is), and my biggest challenge at this point, is focusing and funneling all the information into ONE POST, so people can take it all in, without having to get tangled up in the intricate web that has been spun by ZD on this topic.
