Zuma Dogg's WEEKEND TWITTER Update: LA Budget Crisis, PensionGate, Chris Essel 4 City Council on Tuesday & Tell LAUD'S Tamar Galatzan To SHUT TRAP!

# F*CK YOU TAMAR GALATZAN: HOW DARE YOU OPEN YOUR JEALOUS, LOSER MOUTH AND USE THE HOLOCAUST FOR YOU POLITICAL PAYBACK. YOU SICKEN ME, BITCH! (She sent out robo-calls to people's HOMES forcing them to hear about the holocaust in the middle of their day, just for her own political motivations. And you can say that Essel and Krekorian have introduced the issue, first. BUT, MS. GALATZAN IS NOT IN THE ELECTION! She is REALLY CHOOSING to hop out there and jam this down people's throats, today. (If she made the call, or not, it doesn't have any impact on anyone's lives, today. JUST DRAGGING UP THE HOLOCAUST FOR HER POLITICAL ATTACK ON THE PERSON WHO SOUNDLY CRUSHED HER IN THE ELECTION, WHILE SHE TRIES TO SALVAGE THE CAMPAIGN OF KREKORIAN, WHO'S SUPPORT SHE WANTS WHEN HE JUMPS TO THE NEXT OFFICE.

# When you hear Tamar Galatzan slam Essel & come up with MORE reasons to vote for Krekorian, remember, she is a jealous loser who got creamed.

# TAMAR GALATZAN is a shameless political LOSER who is attacking Chris Essel because she is a jealous woman who LOST to her!

# TAMAR GALATZAN IS A DISPICABLE, SHAMELESS POLITICIAN. She MAKES ME ILL. She is only endorsing Krekorian because she is a jealous woman.

FYI: LAUSD's Tamar Galatzan announced on Kevin James' KRLA radio show to all of Los Angeles, when asked, "Who of all the other candidates for CD City Council would you chose as your "Chief of Staff," Galatzan quickly replied, "Zuma Dogg," and gave her reasons. So it's not like there is any "bad blood" between me and Tamar. She and her husband were very nice and cordial and respectful to me during the campaign, and I enjoyed that moment where ZD and the LAUSD boardmember were on the same side of the rope, and all that. So imagine how sickened I finally am with her over this last round of political insipidness. (Of course the Krekorian supporters do not understand why I am so outraged by her political desperation, because they will not see it as such, because they are the segment of voters who get "suckered" everytime by the cupcakes, puppies and promises in an election season by a hardened, State Assembly politician. LOL! (I wish he WOULD win, so these dummies would finally get their FINAL lesson in State Assembly politics.

These were the LAST people holding on to hope that there IS a Santa Clause, even though all their older brothers and sisters and friends were trying to tell them it's just make believe. But a kid trying to hang on to that last bastion of hope will believe what they want to believe.

Look at Obama...he RAN on an entire platform of WITHDRAWING troops. But now that he is in office, "Oooops, I mean ADD troops!" (Oh well, I'm sure he meant it when he said it. Or at least he said it, because that's what people WANTED to hear! SO SAY IT!!! WHO CARES??? Once you're in office, just say, "It is with a heavy heart that I make the difficult decision to vote, "Yes," on this density project I said I was against, but the mayor will kill me, and will run two candidates against me like he did to Tamar Galatzan, if I don't approve it." (The "ayes" have it!)

L.A. DAILY BLOG ENDORSES DAVID SALTSBURG (ZUMA DOGG) IN TODAY'S LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

[Pictured: LA City Council Candidate David Saltsburg on KNBC 4 (Zuma Dogg)]

Today is the special election for the Los Angeles City Council District 2 seat that was left vacant by Wendy Greuel when she became controller recently.

L.A. Daily Blog endorses David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) and urges you to get out to vote and urge your friends to vote today if they live in the San Fernando Valley (Valley Glen, Valley Village, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Sunland-Tujunga, North Hollywood, Lake View Terrace, Shadow Hills) to get out and vote for David.

Thank you!

"Local legend, Zuma Dogg speaks the truth. He's been fighting for you for years. He's on TV more than Regis Philbin." - Doug McIntyre/KABC radio

"Zuma Dogg is a good candidate. Zuma Dogg understands City Hall. Zuma Dogg is passionate. Zuma Dogg would be a good representative. It would be great to have the tenacity and bravery of Zuma Dogg in the horseshoe." - Kevin James/KRLA radio

"Zuma Dogg is not only one of the most recognizable figures at City Hall, cordially greeted by passersby, including security guards and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, he also has the ear of high-level insiders, who feed him information in the hope that he’ll expose, and possibly stop, one questionable government project or another. In his first years on the scene, he was quietly derided by insiders, including a gaggle of journalists who attend council meetings. His persistence, and now, even critics must admit, his growing expertise on city policy and city government, have changed all that. Masked avenger: Once derided, Zuma Dogg earned respect on public access TV." - LA WEEKLY

LA Weekly Weighs In on ZUMA DOGG at City Hall!

LA WEEKLY ON ZUMA DOGG (David Saltsburg):

Zuma Dogg is not only one of the most recognizable figures at City Hall, cordially greeted by passersby, including security guards and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, he also has the ear of high-level insiders, who feed him information in the hope that he’ll expose, and possibly stop, one questionable government project or another.

“I’m hearing rumors of a hiring freeze over fire and police!” Zuma Doggs yells into the microphone. “Will the council member who has that idea please raise his hand because I’d like to say it’s the stupidest, dumb idea! It’s outrageous! How can you put a hiring freeze on fire and police? It’s the first line of defense of public safety and the city, and here’s why I’m really upset! You did nothing but put up high-density [apartment and condo] projects! High density! With millions of people! So you’re prepared for all of these people! You must keep up with the fire and police hiring to go with the population boom!”

After his allotted two minutes are over, Zuma Dogg takes a breath and returns to the back of the council chamber, where strangers, who enjoyed the hard time he was giving to city leaders over the crowded new housing erected in L.A., give him the thumbs-up, shake his hand.

In his first years on the scene, because he sometimes slept in his van, he was quietly derided by insiders, including a gaggle of journalists who attend council meetings, the subtext being, who cares what some homeless guy thinks?

Zuma Dogg fought the oppressive, tightly controlled L.A. City Council meetings presided over by Council President Garcetti, who had banned video cameras. After security guards tried to stop Zuma Dogg from taping the council deliberations, he railed against the big shots for months, slamming Garcetti as “Garshady” on his show and on his blog. “It was crazy,” Zuma Dogg says. “Whatever happened to free speech in this country?” He prevailed against Garcetti’s rules, and now brings his JVC camera to every council meeting, as can any member of the public thanks to him.

His persistence, and now, even critics must admit, his growing expertise on city policy and city government, have changed all that.

Masked avenger: Once derided, Zuma Dogg earned respect on public access TV.
- LA Weekly

YOU CAN FINALLY SEND THE BIGGEST MESSAGE EVER TO VILLARAIGOSA, CITY HALL AND THE STATE: MAKE ZUMA DOGG THE COUNCILMEMBER ON TUESDAY.

No wonder LA Weekly said, "it says something about this race, and how much it is worrying City Hall, that an elected school board member like Galatzan openly prefers to be counted as part of the Grass-roots Eight, with people like Zuma Dogg, rather than as part of the Machine Two, with Krekorian and Essel."

YES, Zuma Dogg likes to be lumped in with Zuma Dogg and you can vote for the real thing and get the person who has been saying it all along, not just repeating what I have BEEN saying during a campaign. ELECT THE TEMPLATE! ELECT ZUMA!

Tell everyone! Vote Zuma Dogg on Tuesday for L.A. City Council (CD2).

AND NOW, since LA WEEKLY is a major news publication, I will allow for some general public comment from the community. (Here's the most recent email from today as a random sample.):

* Amazing Zuma Dogg! Thanks to you for giving hope and sustenance to those among us all who yearn to act out our frustrations w/ the "big lie." I've admired your tenacious willingness to yell truth to power and let us all know not to underestimate the mediocrity of those running the city while also exposing, what I like to call "the audacity of the mendacity." You mis-spelled unprecedented and roughshod - Ha! But you are a genius and an artist and a civic treasure.

[It can never be ALL good! But, YES...I'm a genius and civic treasure according to this person, so be nice to me! I'm a CIVIC TREASURE!]

ELECT THE "CIVIC TREAURE" TO PROTECT THE CIVIC TREASURY!

"Genius, prophet, soothsayer, hero, legend"...some of the cheap name calling I have been forced to endure this election season. But I'm o.k. Thanks.

VIDEO: Zuma Dogg BLASTS the HELL out of BIG 3 (Money Taking) City Council Candidates (Krekorian, Galatzan and Essel)

Here are clips from the two most recent City Council Candidate Forums, including this week's Showdown in Sherman Oaks. For those of you who have been hearing about Zuma Dogg and his performance at the forums, here are some clips captured by my friend with a flip cam. You have to watch all the clips. They're all good. Some of them have some REAL SLAMS of the BIG 3. Check em out. Whether you are going to vote for me, or not, you will enjoy watching these candidate forum LIVE performances.

THE CITY COUNCIL ELECTION IS THIS TUESDAY!!! Vote "Zuma Dogg!"

Zuma Dogg To Attend Chris Allen's "Dasher-Lawless Dollar Developer) City Counc"Meet & Greet" with Krekorian, Galatzan and Essel

NEW: Zuma Dogg on KEVIN JAMES 870-KRLA (Wed Night). GOOD SEGMENT

Chris Allen of Dasher-Lawless is holding a "meet and greet" where only 3 candidates were selected for the invited crowd to "meet and greet."

Chris Allen has a billion dollars in real estate development and is proud to boast that he, "HAS A VALUABLE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH WENDY GREUEL."

So here are the 3 candidates that are A-O.K. and on the "approved list" of candidates that he is fine with. (And since there are 10 candidates, and only three are invited, these three must all be o.k. to do Wendy and Dasher's business.)

ON THE DEVELOPERS PREFERRED LIST OF "GO ALONG" (A-O.K.) APPROVED CANDIDATES:

* Paul Krekorian
* Tamar Galatzan
* Christine Essel

So it's not like we don't know this already (except a few easily bamboozled community members who want to believe in Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny and that any one of these candidates will be the voice of the community standing up to the biggest developers.)

HERE IS THE EVENT INFORMATION...Many of the other candidates will be in attendance, as well. And even though the developer may not let the other "NON-go along" candidates like speak for five minutes like the BIG MONEY TAKING 3...MANY OF US WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE MINGLING WITH THE CROWD.

BECAUSE THE CHURCH HAS SAID THAT THIS IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Judy Price does not run this event and it should be noted for the record that it raises some SERIOUS questions over any attempt on Judy's part to interfere with any NEIGHBORHOOD OR FRIENDS ATTENDING THIS EVENT...SINCE SHE USED HER TITLE AS "PRESIDENT, VALLEY GLEN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION ON THIS INVITATION.

Hey Judy...what's going on? When people see something saying, "Friends and Neighbors" from "President, Valley Glen Neighborhood Association," they kinda think it's from the Valley Glen Neighborhood Association. Are they reading too much into that? MAYBE THAT'S WHY YOU DO NOT ABUSE YOUR TITLE AND POSITION TO TRY AND DECEIVE FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS?

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Date: Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 5:37 PMSubject: Final "Meet & Greet" in Valley Glen for CD2 Candidates

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

The Special Election for the Council District 2 seat vacated by Wendy Greuel is next Tuesday, September 22. Come meet the top 3 Candidates at the Final "Meet & Greet" in Valley Glen this Friday, September 18, 7:00 p.m. sharp, at:

St Jane Frances De Chantal Parish
Bingo Hall13001 Victory Blvd. Valley Glen, CA 91606

The candidates are (alphabetical order): Christine Essel, Tamar Galatzan and Paul Krekorian

They will be given 5:00 each to speak, followed by a "Meet & Greet". It is an opportunity for you to talk with the candidates individually.

Light refreshments will be served.

Sponsored by Christopher and Dorian Alan.

Judy Price
President
Valley Glen Neighborhood Association

XXX

BOTTOM LINE: The MAIN point here, is that the billion dollar developer who boasts of "a valuable working relationship with Wendy Greuel" says Krekorian/Galatzan/Essel are on HIS slate of developer approved candidates. (Otherwise, why wouldn't it be a meet and greet for just one of the candidates. Because you know that your plans and dreams will be allowed to carry on with either of THESE 3.

Meet the REAL 7! See you there!

Did Tamar Galatzan LIE To Sherman Oaks Homeowners Associtation During Debate Questioning?

LA WEEKLY MENTIONS "ZUMA DOGG" IN THEIR POLITICAL COVERAGE: This isn't the first time I have slammed a Villaraigosa-backed candidate (Tamar Galatzan who was backed by $2 million of Villarigosa's dollars to win the LAUSD board seat that she used to raise money and support for her CD 2 City Council election, this Tuesday).

PREVIOUSLY, Zuma Dogg complained about the Villaraigosa-backed Assemblymember John Perez (the mayor's cousin). THANKS TO LA WEEKLY FOR NOTICING MY ACTI-BLOGGING!

LA WEEKLY said, "Perez’s election was widely criticized by city activists, including the outspoken Zuma Dogg, who blogged: 'Antonio’s anointed candidate, who will be your new Assembly member pulling the levers for his cousin Antonio, is John Perez.'

Perez was a lead spokesman for the disastrous “Yes on 1A-1E” ballot-measure campaign that would have dramatically raised California taxes, paid down the deficit and propped up school funding. The package of measures lost by a landslide." (full story)

So I was right about THAT nightmare, too.

But now, on to the CURRENT election nightmare:

DID TAMAR GALATZAN LIE TO SHERMAN OAKS CROWD?: During the CD 2 City Council Candidate Forum held by Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association, did LAUSD School Board Member and Current City Council Candidate Tamar Galatzan LIE to the crowd tonight when asked about her use of LAUSD campaign money during this campaign cycle.

During the forum, each candidate was allowed to ask a question of any of the other candidates.

Zuma Dogg asked Tamar Galatzan, "As someone who does not like the idea of running for one office just to raise money and support for another office, did you transfer LAUSD campaign money into your officeholder account...

Richard Close (Tamar Galatzan endorser) who was moderating the event cut Zuma Dogg off at that point and Tamar said, "No."

Although Dick tried to cut me off, I tried to squeeze in the rest of the question, "Did you take money raised for your LAUSD campaign (including one SINGLE donation from an Ari Swiller friend and associate in the amount of $100,000), transfer it into your office holder account...AND USE IT FOR MAILERS YOU JUST SENT OUT DURING YOUR CITY COUNCIL CANDIDACY?

TAMAR SAID BEFORE THE CAMERA AND CROWD, "NO" SHE DID NOT TRANSFER MONEY FROM HER LAUSD CAMPAIGN INTO HER OFFICE HOLDER ACCOUNT (that could be used for staff, kids, programs, ANYTHING) AND USE IT FOR FLIERS.

Hope it is not shown to be the CASE, otherwise. But Zuma Dogg wasn't told to ask her that question and get her "on the record" for no reason. Maybe you should take a ride up the City Hall elevator to the 27th floor and check the ethics records. They don't lie. Unlike your typical elected official running for office.

ZUMA DOGG ON 870-KRLA with KEVIN JAMES: Click here for exciting audio of Zuma Dogg going into quite a nice little rant, LIVE FROM THE STREETS...TO THE STREETS on Kevin James' KRLA radio show, last night.

TELL EVERYONE TO VOTE IN THE ELECTION THIS TUESDAY: The time is finally here, that we don't need to mention the date anymore. Just tell everyone you know, there is an election this Tuesday for City Council member in CD 2 and to please vote -- and make sure to tell them ZUMA DOGG is on the ballot. The election is under attack from slick elected officials who will say anything and lie to your face during an election. Meanwhile, they couldn't do what I just did over these past three years with ALL their money. FIRST, you have to figure it out...THEN you have to be willing to stand up and DO something when it DOESN'T count in an election. SO LET'S SEE TAMAR'S "NO ON B" position since she said she was "NO" on B at the forum.

electZuma.com

UPDATE: ETHIC COMMISSION REPORT ON MORE OF TAMAR GALATZAN'S INFAMOUS INDEPENDENT EXPENDITURES:

The CEC received the following Non-Candidate Spending Notifications yesterday:
1) L.A. Airport Peace Officers Association PAC -- for a mailer supporting Tamar Galatzan for Council District 2 for a total of $5,000.

2) from Committed to the Valley's Future - Committee to Support Tamar Galatzan for City Council 2009 -- for a flyer supporting Tamar Galatzan for a total of $1,278.51. (Is the big committee just Mort Allen?)

SO YOU CAN COME UP WITH ALL THE RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING $500 LIMITS AND HOW CAMPAIGN MONEY IS USED..BUT WHO CARES WHEN YOU PULL ALL THE "OUTSIDE" STUFF THAT ETHICS FELT WAS WORTH SENDING OUT A "SHADY ALERT" OVER.

(But she is so adorable and says everything you want to hear during an election, even if she has to lie a little bit along the way about certain things. But nothing you shouldn't just overlook.)

Tamar Galatzan: Master Strategist at PLAYING the community as she uses Villaraigosa's $2 Million and LAUSD Parents, Kids and System For Council Seat

There's some buzz that some folks in Sunland-Tujunga will be announcing support for LAUSD Board Member Tamar Galatzan as their choice for council member to combat the other two City Hall inyosider candidates (Krekorian and Essel).

Here are some comments from bloggers on this chit-chat. AND REMEMBER, it's not an NC endorsement, but a few people (very few) who are using the name "Sunland Tujunga" in their name, but any endorsement is just that of the few people and not some official NC endorsement.

BUT, as a candidate who is follows marketing strategy, it's time to remind people how far they have strayed with even a "thought" of actually putting your name on a vote for Tamar. But it IS tough separating the forest from the trees. (Did you see "Blair Witch Project." You can get lost and you lose perspective.) BUT I KNOW...I KNOW...WE GOTTA BEAT ESSEL, ZUMA DOGG.

(O.K., I forgot the mayor has taken away your heart and soul and true voice. PICK ONE OF HIS, OR ELSE!)

Debbie

I can't imagine for the life of me why the fine people of Sunland-Tujunja would want anything to do with that traitor to the children of her LAUSD school board district (Tamar Galatzan).
http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=5567642553940370181
The amount of time and energy we put into supporting her, attending her lame-ass "Parent Summits" (with no real change coming from them at ALL. JUST A PRE-CAMPAIGN PHOTO OP, only to have her turn her backs on us AFTER SHE SAID SHE WOULDN'T, shows her true character.

We needed her and she left us for greener pastures.

If that's the kind of person Sunland-Tujunga wants representing them, then they deserve what they get.

September 14, 2009 8:51 AM

As long as you guys don't endorse a Antonio croonie. Hey what's up with city council this week not meeting? Didn't they just get back from their summer break and they are getting paid, the highest in the nation. I just got a call asking why is council in recess all week. They are spending $75,000 tomorrow for that Illegal celebration. Don't insult us and call it Mexican Independence Day festivities. Its ILLEGAL MEANING NOT LEGAL. Mexican Americans are LEGAL citizens can vote in this country. All the illegals will be downtown cause they will have free food and stuff. Illegals like our Latino politicians have no class and no ethics.

Blogger Michael Higby (Mayor Sam Blog Founder/Publisher) said...

With all due respect to my Sunland-Tujunga friends I find this appalling. After all the effort to fight Home Depot they're now supporting the wife of Mr. Home Depot and Mr. SB1818.

Though I never expected them to see these folks support my choice for various reasons I was at least expecting an honest endorsement of someone in line with their values such as Mary Benson, Sheftel, McCue, etc. All of whom could have a chance to get in a runoff.

For reasons I can not tell you I can guarantee you have endorsed the Mayor's prime candidate. I think if she wins and becomes your Councilmember you will be disappointed later.

Oh well.

Zuma Dogg said...

Yes, Debbie, it's election season. People loose their minds and get all excited over the words and attention they are receiving from real, live LAUSD elected officials when they are out there campaigning. It's the "Leif Garrett" factor. So you have someone who felt it was "A-o.k." to hop in the mayor's $2 million getaway car and use that shady money to get in the LAUSD school board seat where she used all of YOU to leapfrog into the REAL paycheck, not some part-time money. And I guess her hubby's role at "YES on Home Depot" is something that can easily be overlooked, along with all the time parents and the ENTIRE LAUSD SCHOOL SYSTEM invested in Tamar.

ALL THE WHILE SHE WAS ONLY USING IT TO GAIN SUPPORT FOR CD2, which she knew she was doing all along, and left $60,000 in her office account that could have been used to staff, or the classroom or kids and used it for her own CD2 fliers that may, or may not be under investigation with more than just the ethics commission.

YEAH, there's reform you can trust. She should have put down "conductor" on her ballot designation because she just played, you, the community like a fiddle in her "Tamar for City Council" 2 year orchestration.

Springsteen wrote a song about how hard it is to not get snookered by these slick elected officials. "Tunnel of Love." I just sit back and enjoy the view.

I especially like how Tamar shows up for a press conference on the CD 2 water main break, AFTER it breaks. Of course I was there warning of this BEFORE it happened.

So Tamar probably is PERFECT for City Council and the people who keep electing people like her.

BUT, Zuma Dogg will still be there in chambers fighting for the voice of the community and the people, and I wonder if Tamar would have shown up to that press conference if she wasn't on the ballot next Tuesday.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO BARK EXHORTATIONS AFTER THE FACT AT A PRESS CONFERENCE OR CANDIDATE FORUM.

IT IS LITERALLY THE EASIEST THING TO DO. Watch:

"As City Councilmember, I will have the best constituent services and make sure all calls are returned with 24 hours. I will ensure the aging infrastructure will be replaced in record time, and will hire Olympic track starts to do the job faster.

I will bring jobs back to the district and will take measures to shore up the budget and close the deficit by eliminating waste and I will stand up to the unions and I am independent candidate.

My name is (fill in the blank) and I am running for city council.

I guess people forgot Tamar is "Yes on Jack Weiss." And if you have kids in her LAUSD district. Good luck starting all over. Tamar's gotta bring home the bacon.

September 14, 2009 9:53 AM

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO EXPERIENCE ACTUAL FREEDOM OF CHOICE. Do not pick for the BIG 3 who who hate least. Use your vote as you voice. Do you really think Paul or Tamar will be much different than Essel? Is Tamar going to stand up as Councilmember against the machine when she has to be re-elected a year and a half later.

ONCE SHE'S IN OFFICE, SHE WON'T NEED ANY OF YOU GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO BE RE-ELECTED YEAR AND A HALF LATER! (SHE'S BE THE FULL DARTH VADER MACHINE HEAD AT THAT POINT...LOL!)

But hey, she's better than Essel when there is ONE moment in time to shatter their glass house with the slingshot of David (Saltsburg) vs Goliath (City Hall) . AND THE SECOND TAMAR IS IN THE DOOR, SHE'LL NEVER NEED ANY OF YOU AGAIN TO SERVE OUT THE REMAINDER OF THE THREE REMAINING TERMS. SHE'S RIGHT! And what are the chances a grassroots candidate will be able to take her out, once she's in as the city hall candidate, when there was no one this time during an open seat with no incumbent? (Is Rick Caruso going to run against her in a year and a half.)

ZUMA DOGG'S MOTTO IS "GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT." BUT TIME AND TIME AGAIN...THE PEOPLE GIVE CITY HALL WHAT THEY WANT! (Hey Charlie Brown, Lucy says, "Hello" and wants to know you are not getting your football back.)

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Let's bring in an expert, Antonio's gal (he paid a million bucks to get her on the LAUSD school board -- and shoe-in for Wendy Greuel's CM Chair if things like this don't thwart any chances before they can happen), Tamar Galatzan (the first lady of VICA). -Zuma Dogg (2/08)

IT'S NOT ABOUT WHICH ONE OF THE THREE WILL THROW YOU A BONE, ONCE IN A WHILE...AT BEST.

YOU CAN PUT SOMEONE IN THE COUNCIL SEAT WHO'S ENTIRE EFFORT WILL BE TO REFORM WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN ELECTED OFFICIAL.

I AM ABOUT TO HAND YOU THE KEYS TO THE CITY VEHICLE AS "PLACE KICKER HOLDER" FOR YOU TO KICK THROUGH THE POSTS.

But you are settling for an occasional bone, if that from someone who has proven to you that she can't be trusted and has give you ZERO indication otherwise. People remind me of the elephant who grows up with the thin rope holding them down when they are small, and when they are HUGE and could easily rip the tree out, the thin rope still keeps the elephant in place due to psychological conditioning over the years.

I WAS ALWAYS THE ELEPHANT WHO DIDN'T FALL FOR THAT AND RIPPED THE TREE OUT! Sorry, that's just me.

From Daily News blog:

What about Zuma Dogg?

Even though Zuma Dogg (aka David Saltsburg) might also be tagged with "carpet-bagger" status for moving into CD2 in order to run for the open City Council seat, it's hard to knock a homeless guy for bedding down wherever he damn well pleases, even if it makes him eligible to run in that area's council election.

I'm no Zuma Dogg veteran, and those who've seen him a lot seem tired of his dog/pony show during the public-comment portion of the City Council's meetings downtown. I've seen a little bit of Zuma Dogg, and thus far I'm a bit charmed. I've gotten to know more than a few council gadflies from various cities over the years, and that's probably softened me up for Zuma Dogg.

I don't know quite how he'd do if actually elected to the council, but when he talks about City Hall shenanigans, I have a feeling his idea of reform is a lot more sincere than that of some of the other candidates who seem more likely to play ball with the current council team.

David vs Goliath: Zuma Dogg vs the OTHER Candidates and THE MEDIA

My name is David (Saltsburg) and my candidacy sure as hell is like "David and Goliath" vs the rest of the sources and forces.

KABC's Doug McIntyre has already had on eight of the ten candidates in the LA City Council CD 2 election...and the only other candidate who has not been heard from is booked already.

DOUG keeps TELLING me I am going to be on the show and he is going to have someone call me.

He told me that in person a couple weeks ago at a party we were attending together, and he emailed me that he will book me and I keep hearing that someone from the station is going to call me to book me on the show.

DOUG, I've called your show HOW many times over the past three years (including when you were on overnight).

YOU'VE ALREADY HAD EIGHT OTHER CANDIDATES AND THE OTHER ONE IS BOOKED.

THE ELECTION IS COMING UP.

IS IT POSSIBLE I CAN GET BOOKED ON YOUR SHOW BEFORE THE ELECTION IS HELD, SINCE YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD EVERYONE ELSE (except for the 9th candidate who is also booked).

AND FOR SOME REASON, ALTHOUGH I AM A LONG TIME LISTENER AND ALWAYS FIRST TO ASK TO COME ON YOUR SHOW...

I'M STILL WAITING JUST TO HAVE A TIME SCHEDULED???

How about Wednesday, Sept 23rd? (Of course the election is the 22nd.)

DOUG, it's 213-785-7272. If you need me to audition, you can listen to me on Kevin James 870 KRLA this evening (Thursday) at 9pm.

NOTE: Tamar Galatzan told Kevin James during his extensive coverage of the election that of all the other candidates, Zuma Dogg is who she would choose for "Chief of Staff."

That ought to end a lot of speculation regarding the Dogg. Tamar is willing to mention me as her Chief of Staff, among all the other candidates, so I guess she feels I'm the one she would trust with her reputation, district and people. So that's quite a nice thing.

NOTE: Yesterday (9/9/09) this blog (Zuma's LA DAILY BLOG) just had a RECORD amount of page views since the inception of the blog. Thanks for reading. Interesting that it is just as we approach the homestretch of the CD2 City Council election.

And finally, I'm going to pull up my podcast from when I was on Doug's show a year and a half ago when I predicted and warned of this exact economic crisis and all the loss of jobs and services we will be facing. Doug said, "Zuma Dogg speaks the truth!" (And now Parks is a hero for talking about it after the fact, and a great job he is doing, and you KNOW I mean that...but you COULD have a councilmember in City Hall who not only figured it out on his own in enough time to prepare for it, but warned city council at the meetings and even was calling radio stations as a mere concerned citizen trying to warn people so they could take action.

So in celebration of the other 9 candidates being on Doug McIntyre's KABC radio show, while I listen to them and have Doug keep telling me, "We'll get back to ya, kid," here's a blast from the past ZD from Doug's show. CLICK HERE for ZUMA DOGG on McIntyre's KABC show from May 2008. Here's Zuma Dogg on L.A. Economy at City Council in April 2008.

ELECT ZUMA DOGG TO RUN INTERVENTION ON L.A. CITY COUNCIL ADDICTION TO STATUS QUO (The Dr. Drew of L.A. City Politics)

Matt Dowd weighs in on L.A. City golf cart concession agenda item from today's meeting. Zine said he was never lobbied so hard on anything, from both sides, in his eight years at Council and sure seemed to be about one of the biggest deals I have seen made by Council. Here's what Matt has to add on this shady item: I was in committee when that golf cart vending item came through the agenda. Bong is trying to hose off the concession to his buddies. they been tryin for months. in committee was a joke. Janice just went along, I couldn't believe it. that committee was the biggest problem with the City. only Janice and Tom sitting, because Jan Perry was never there with those two, so they ran it, that's fucked up. Tom tried to hose in his golf buddies with the cart concession. Effective Sept 1 though all the committees changed. NOW Wesson and Reyes are on the Arts Parks and Aging Committee, so that's why LeBong's stuff is getting thrown out now. I need Councilman Saltsburg to fight for my vending concession on Venice y'all. - Matt Dowd

ZUMA DOGG RANTS ON BIG 3 CITY HALL INSIDER CANDIDATES TO LA WEEKLY REPORTER: Thanks to LA Weekly for calling Zuma Dogg for some quotes on a few of the candidates. "Goes Along" Galtzan, Krackwhorian and E$$el were making me especially cranky at the time of the call. My cell phone charger is broke, so I had to hustle the AT&T store for a free call to give the interview. YES, the candidate who can do MORE with LESS! Outside the box thinking to get the job done! AND ZD MAKES THE INTERVIEW AND SLAMS THOSE WHO DESERVE IT MOST! (The Three Stooges: Paul/Moe, Chris/Larry, Tamar/Curly)

TAMAR'S HARDLY ATTENDED FUNDRAISER: I saw someone who was at Tamar's fundraiser, last night. Says Galatzan only had about 15 people there I am told. And I know who a couple of them were (her existing supporters), so she's not exactly setting the district on fire.

ELECT ZUMA DOGG TO RUN INTERVENTION ON L.A. CITY COUNCIL ADDICTION TO STATUS QUO: I was thinking about Los Angeles City Council and the siginficance if David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) is put in the council seat by The People on September 22, 2009.

And the reason I thought of the significance, is because I was thinking of the poor souls of L.A. City Council who are boiling to death in their own addiction!

The city is headed straight for the buzzsaw and it appears as though they are all standing around helpless to do anything about anything.

Look at the budget they are still struggling with. They NEVER should have been in this predicament. Even Councilmember Bill Rosendahl couldn't take it today, as council was forced to make a complicated, last minute decision on the golf cart concession operators at the city golf course as he blurted out in frustration, ""Why do we always wait till the last day to do something around here!" WELCOME TO THE ZUMA DOGG CLUB, BILL!

And I look at the fifteen councilmembers (fourteen, for now until the CD 2 election) and say to myself, these aren't bad people. They can't be this much of a bunch of dumb f*ck ups? And I mean that. So what it comes down to is these people are just sick addicts. Addicted to the staus quo. Addicted to business as ususal. Addicted to simply being able to get away with it cause we could afford it and it was just accepted.

NOW IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE (as if it ever were), BECAUSE WE CANNOT AFFORD IT, AND THE FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE (and corruption) IS BEING EXPOSED AND LIKE AN ADDICT WHO HAS HIT ROCK BOTTOM, IT IS TIME TO CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR BECAUSE YOU CANNOT CARRY ON AS YOU USED TO IN YOUR ADDICTED BEHAVIOR. But now you can't stop. You have become like a functional addict who keeps robbing others and losing your soul to keep your addiction going.

And now you don't even know how to do anything else or behave any differently.

SO THAT'S WHAT ZUMA DOGG IS FOR!

HE IS THE CITY COUNCIL INTERVENTION SENT BY THE PEOPLE TO START PRESSING THE BUTTON AND TALKING LIKE DR. DREW!

And it will be such a message to City Hall if you send me into that council seat, that would add leverage to the seat. Can you imagine, "Sorry, although it would be easy for me to go along with the other councilmembers on this one, I have to remember this (insert b.s. council issue) is what The People of CD 2 sent me here to do. So I have to vote "NO" on this, and here is why the other councilmembers should remember The People are watching how YOU vote, too." And maybe slowly we can start to break up all these unanymous votes, and occasionally stop something from getting passed. (Like when they wait until the last day for something and need a unanymous vote or else it has to come back the next week for a second vote...BUT that means it will be too late. So sometimes ONE NO vote can stop something.

END CITY COUNCIL'S STATUS QUO ADDICTION!

SEND THEM AN INTERVENTION ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd!

ELECT DAVID SALTSBURG (Zuma Dogg) TO L.A. CITY COUNCIL (CD 2)!

L.A. City Council Embraces Zuma Dogg Strategy Regarding L.A. City Medical Marijuana Industry (It's the shady doctors who are creating the over-demand)

WOW...I really felt great today, when I heard Councilmember Jose Huizar stand up and start saying all the things Zuma Dogg said in committee and during the council meetings and on my blog regarding the shady doctors who are the REAL problem in this medical marijuana collective issue for anyone who feels there are too many at this point. And the information I came up with and presented to council that they are now running with (rightfully so) was brought to me from the top experts of the medical marijuana community. HERE"S HOW I EXPLAINED IT TO A FRIEND OF MINE IN AN EMAIL I JUST SENT OUT:

Today council started to say the stuff I was saying the REAL problem is regarding medical marijuana (medi-juana) collectives in the city of L.A.

I have been saying in meetings it is the doctors who write prescriptions to anyone, and I blogged about the doctors who "recruit" paiteints at Venice Beach Boardwalk hundreds at a time who are creating the demand for all of these collectives.

Today, Huizar and Zine stood up and said that stuff during a BIG item on Medi-juana.

So first this week they adopt my call for "Special Event Fee Waiver" reform, as Richard Alarcon complains that I am "dictating" city policy (cause he doesn't want his shady money cut back); and now, Council takes my cue and gets to the root of the problem as described by Zuma Dogg as told to him by the medical marijuana community in the first place. IT'S THE SHADY DOCTORS.

Here's a more recent blog post on the issue of medi-juana doctors from July 7, 2009 on LA Daily Blog by Zuma Dogg (For City Council on Sept 22):

AND BESIDES THAT ISSUE…if there really are too many, then economics (supply and demand) will “weed out” (pun intended) the one’s there are no demand for and if they are too close, then the weak one will be forced out of business.

THE PROBLEM HERE IS WITH THE DOCTORS THAT NEVER MEET A PAITENT THEY DON’T LIKE (TAKING MONEY FROM). THE DEMAND FOR ALL OF THIS IS BEING ALLOWED TO BE CREATED BY THE DOCTORS.

And that is not the city’s FAULT; however, Zuma Dogg says it IS the city’s problem, because just like the Michael Jackson Memorial at Staples Center, the people want their Michael and people want their meds. And unfortunately for the haters, the State of California allows these doctors to write all these prescriptions; hence the demand for the collectives has been created.

And let me say for the record, when I see four 18 year olds walk into a collective together with their doctor recommendations, I’ll bust their chops and say, “Wow, what neighborhood are you from, they should quarantine the area…everyone’s sick or in pain!”

But this is an issue for their parents to deal with when they are raising them, or living in their parents’ home still; or for their teachers to deal with if they are flunking out; or for their employers to deal with if they are being un-productive and missing work.

But even if that sounds like bullshit to you…THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA CREATED THIS DEMAND, BY ALLOWING IT TO GO DOWN LIKE THIS. Yes, the law is 18 to get a doctors recommendation, and since this is a plant, not a pharmaceutical grade medication, it carries a different standard with it. Medical Marijuana is to provide relief, not cure. Hate to say it, but although you need a doctor’s recommendation (it’s called a “recommendation” NOT a “prescription,” because prescriptions are only for pharmaceutical/synthetic/non-organic medications) it’s much like an over the counter product like cough syrup. AND THAT IS ABUSED BY KIDS…HAVEN’T YOU HEARD THOSE ATLANTA RAP SONGS ABOUT “SIPPIN’ON SYRUP?” (Not recommendation needed for that. And I would rather have someone operate heavy machinery under too much marijuana than too much cough syrup or some of the other stuff you can get without squat from a doctor.)

I think some folks with the city think if you shut a lot of them down, then the demand will go down with it. HEEEEEEEEEELL NAAAAAAAAAW!!! Again, you will only send it back into the streets and down your own residential streets.

AND THE MAIN THING YOU MUST UNDERSTAND is currently there are no rules or regulations, so a lot of these collectives are having an easier time operating than they will once you put the rules into effect.

IT’S NOT AS EASY TO RUN THESE THINGS COMPLIANTLY AS ONE MIGHT IMAGINE. It’s not as easy as saying, “Hey, I see people making tons of cash with these collectives. Let’s buy some stock and open up.”

THANKS TO MY COMPADRES ZINE AND HUIZAR TO GETTING THIS MATTER ROLLING BEFORE I GET THERE, MYSELF. TIME IS A WASTING AND THE CLOCK IS TICKING.

I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHAT I NEED DONE NEXT now that LACERS pension money was pulled out of Grand Ave Project per my request; Special Event Fee Waiver Reform was passed this week; Richard Alarcon said publicly, "I do not want Zuma Dogg dictating policy for the City of Los Angeles," and now Huizar and Zine took my cue on the REAL heart of the matter with the medi-juana collectives; the demand being created/allowed by rouge doctors who never me a patient's money they weren't willing to take in exchange for a card.

HERE'S WHAT WILL HAVE TO OCCUR TO CLOSE THE BUDGET GAP AND PREVENT THE CITY FROM SHUTTING DOWN OVER THE PENSION MESS:

AND I SPOKE WITH A TOP LEVEL CITY HALL EXECUTIVE WHO AGREES WITH ME ON THIS/CONFIRMS IT AS THE ONLY OPTION IN HIS OPINION, AS WELL (someone who's opinion I respect or I wouldn't have asked them in the first place; and they didn't deny it, but agreed with me):

THE CITY WILL HAVE TO ELIMINATE ENTIRE DEPARTMENTS ACROSS THE CITY AND MERGE SOME DEPARTMENTS AND BECOME MUCH MORE EFFICIENT AND STREAMLINED.

(See Deming's 14 points, OR, you can just elect the internationally recognized master at methods for management of quality and productivity and is the king of knowing how to do more with less....ELECT ZUMA DOGG, SEPT 22nd FOR L.A. CITY COUNCIL!)

Tamar Galatzan Has Her Head of Fundraising BUMP INTO ZUMA DOGG While He's Walking Down The Street, Minding His Own Constituent's Business

ZUMA DOGG BUMPS INTO TAMAR GALATZAN HEAD FUNDRAISER ON THE STREET...I MEAN LITERALLY!: Oh my goodness...I know you are raising money Tamar to send out your shady fliers, but you don't have to knock me down on the sidewalk with your HEAD Fundraiser and rub em in my face?

Here's what happened, I was walking down Ventura Blvd in Studio City and all of the sudden, someone comes walking out of a restaurant, and we end up crossing each others path (she crossed mine, y'all...cause I had right of way as someone already walking down the street, but she was on a mission), so I stop fast in my tracks to avoid a collision, extend my arm (in "you have the right of way fashion) and say, "After you" to allow her to pass.

I see she is holding a stack of shady Tamar Galatzan fliers (and I know if she's holding a stack, she ain't just a regular constituent, but someone "on the job") and a plastic box (to hold checks, I guess), so I decide to have some fun and say, "I see you have Tamar Galatzan fliers. I am also running and am showing up everywhere I see a Galatzan flier to talk you into voting for me."

She was about as fun and personable as a librarian and shook her head, "No" (as if THAT isn't going to happen). So I say, "What do you do for the campaign?" Because obviously she worked for the campaign since she was holding fliers and a box, and she told me she was Tamar's head fundraiser.

Then Brendan Huffman (Tamar's husband) came out and I started saying, "Brendan, you gotta give Zuma Dogg 20% of your fundraising money for MY campaign, kind of like affordable housing! COMMON! Pretend it's like SB 1818 and if you give me 20%, like affordable housing requirements and then you can raise more money!" I added that, "I told Chirs Essel she should send out 20% of her fliers for Zuma Dogg, like affordable housing." So he saw I was just having fun, instead of "shaking down." (Cause here I am showing up, in person...Sopranos style, y'all!)

So now that we are having fun, the conversation quickly turned to bashing Krekorian. It was a lot of fun! Brendan took a picture of ZD and the money person and I complained, "Man, why don't you just rub the fliers and money in my face!?!? I mean, do you have your fundraiser person push the money and fliers in my face?" And had a befuddled and defeated look on my face as I pointed to the money box and fliers that I am up against.

And finally, I noted to Brendan and the staffer who crossed paths with ZD, that the Councilmember (ZD) yielded to the constituent. And she agreed in acknowledgment that Mr. Zuma Dogg was most constituent friendly, indeed!

So I'm glad ZD was caught being yielding to the constituent, even if she was holding a stack of fliers and a mostly empty fundraising box.

There was no way that was anything but a cosmic, quantum event. It's a matter of focus! Ask Deepak or Marianne what was in play here. And Brendan, how about emailing me a copy of the photo: ZumaDogg@Gmail.com.

Blog Readers Weigh-in on "Zuma Dogg" (David Saltsburg) For L.A. City Council

Here are some recent comments posted by readers of Mayor Sam's Blog:

* Thank you Zuma, for reminding me of why I support you. I adore Mary and Kristen both. I really do. I despise two of the "big" three. Paul is okay. I want there to be a shakeup though and only you can do it. As much as I like Mary, I believe you'll be able to get more done than her. I really do. I think you'll learn in no time whatsoever to get along within council chambers and I would love to see CD 2 shaken up. Big time. It needs it. Wendy didn't help much there.

* David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) gave the most passionate answers at the Valley Village forum last night. I saw people applauding him that I hadn't expected. He earned some new supporters and more votes last night.

* Mr. David Saltsburg for CD 2. A true reformer!

* Is it possible that the UNDERDOGG or should I say ZUMA DOGG will be City Hall Bound?? You know people are tired of tax waste/dwp overcharges as one person I can't change shit but standing by someone who is like minded we create a group, so all ZUMA lovers out there get off your ass and help the DOGG. Oh, ya think we are crazy, yeah buddy as a MAD hatter tired of the City Council Abuse of POWER, ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTLY....EchoParkLady

* Saltsburg aka Zuma Dogg kicked butt last night and demonstrated just why we need an outsider in this CD post and not these career politicians who only care about themselves and their next job. Can you imagine the history that will be made when we elect a so-called "homeless" guy into City Council? It will restore the public's faith in democracy and elected politics and show that a man of the people can get sent to City Hall where he can shake up the status quo. After last night, our whole family will be voting for David Saltsburg. We'll be doing the State a favor by leaving Kerkorian and Tamar Galatzan in their current posts so the public doesn't have to spend money replacing them beofre their terms are over.

* Zuma Dogg is a very smart man and knows the issues. There is nothing wrong with standing up for what you believe in. He knows the issues better than anyone else. He knows the councilmembers and has been down at city hall more than anyone on this planet. It should be applauded that he speaks his mind and stands up for what is right. He has fought city hall and they have listened. It is hard to find a candidate that has his kind of background. He is a great candidate and I hope he wins. Zuma Dogg will shake up city hall. Vote for him.

David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) Addresses TOP Issue To Be Addressed As L.A. City Councilmember (Vote "Zuma Dogg" Sept 22nd in CD 2)

My name is David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) and I am running for Los Angeles City Council in Valley's CD 2 in the Special Election on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd. There are nine other candidates on the ballot.

Rather than focus on them at this point, I want people to know what is important to me as someone walking in the door of Council chambers as councilmember.

I started with THIS post yesterday on Neighborhood Councils and my commitment to them, because I know it is such a frustrating issue for participants.

David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) Speaks on His Commitment To Neighborhood Council As City Councilmember

AND, even though, neighborhood council infrastructure is not the most pressing issue in all reality as we face some pretty big fiscal budgetary issues, I wanted to start with the NC post, the same way a new country starting from scratch after devastation (Wendy Greuel as CM) is to announce, "we have phone lines set up and are open for communication."

So I wanted to let you know, that the first thing, on day one of "Councilmember Zuma Dogg" includes even more immersion with NC participants than ever, and read the rest of the post above for more on that.

So once the lines of communication are open and people know that: I asked myself, "When I walk into the office on the first day, what is the single most important issue that I need to get into.

AND THE PROBLEM IS, it's not always the sexy, backyard issue that is 500 feet away from your doorstep. And sometimes it isn't even something tangible that you can see the result of, or have a ribbon cutting ceremony for.

SO I WANT TO PREFACE THIS POST AS SAYING, THIS IS THE SALAD YOU HAVE TO EAT BEFORE THE MAIN ENTREE THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY LIKE MUCH MORE.

But this issue I am about to address puts EVERYTHING else in the community at risk. It puts jobs, public safety, libraries, parks, general services and EVERYTHING else quality of life related:

THE BUDGET!

And I will be brief here, or at least brief for someone who may soon be a councilmember: Almost three years ago, I did an article for LA Weekly on Grand Ave Project. I was privileged to the inside memo on the plan and I noticed that LACERS pension money was invested in this project that I happened to think was a big turkey, and it has gone belly up since then. I caused such a stink, that they eventually pulled the LACERS money out of the project.

But it illustrated the exposure to pension money in risky projects. It turns out ZD found out the pension money was invested in overly-risky Wall Street funds and we all know about placement agents (Wetherly Captial) and "packing" the pension board with the four Villaraigosa pension appointees who helped funnel the money to the dark side.

I warned of the pending global economic meltdown (that was ahead due to subprime foreclosures and the rising price of oil overseas and the credit derivatives market) toward the goal of serious belt tightening and even predicted that the city would go bankrupt and would not even be able to provide basic services and rates would skyrocket.

So now that this is not officially brief, anymore. I guess I am perfect to be an L.A. City Councilmember, because I had to tell you that I not only figured this out on my own through research and speaking with LACERS members in chambers; BUT, showed up and DEMANDED for an investigation as to how the money was being invested and warned of the whole meltdown, which ended up to play out exactly as predicted.

SO IT WAS PRETTY OBVIOUS TO ME, IF YOU HAD SPOKEN WITH THE PEOPLE I HAD SPOKEN WITH; AND CHOSE TO EVALUATE THE GLOBAL ECONOMY, TO FIGURE OUT HOW THE LOCAL ECONOMY WOULD BE AFFECTED SO YOU TURNED OUT TO HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD? So what if I had been CM the whole time and was able to create a motion to call in these experts for an accounting of exactly what the HELL was going on.

Cause the result is that we are now on the verge of bankruptcy and the mayor and city council approved a budget that is padded with "smoke and mirror" inflated revenue projections, includes concessions from unions that have not only NOT been agreed to; but have threatened to sue over it; and it takes about six months to fire anyone, even if you wanted to...and NOTHING HAS BEEN AGREED TO AND TIME IS RUNNING OUT...AND THE SITUATION COMPOUNDS EACH MONTH.

So the first thing I think I would get to the bottom of by speaking with CM Parks and whichever other CMs might have a CLUE as to what is going on; and speak with the city employees in the appropriate departments who know what the HELL is going on (like Sally Choi of LACERS) -- AND SEE EXACTLY WHERE WE STAND AND WHAT HAS TO BE DONE AND WHAT THE HARD OPTIONS ARE AT THIS POINT.

BECAUSE THE FIRST MOTION I NEED TO CREATE IS, "Measures that need to be taken to prevent loss of jobs and services throughout the City." And don't say that this isn't a CD 2 issue, because you end up getting your property taxes and fees hiked and new fees created and parking meter increases and all that to help pay for this mess. AND, if we have to close down parks, libraries, fire companies and all the other city services that will be affected -- and further job loss...WELL THAT'S GONNA AFFECT ALL OF CD 2 A LOT! You have already seen it!

CRYSTAL BALL WHERE THIS IS HEADED: When I am asked about the budget gap and what to do, I merely project ahead as to what the only option will be because it's not like these clowns will be able to navigate through this at the micro-level: ENTIRE DEPARTMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE ELIMINATED WHICH WILL ALLOW THE CITY TO REDUCE THE PAYROLL AND FUTURE BENEFITS.

I'm sure all agree that there are city departments that are overly-bureaucratic, (duplication), non-essential and wasteful. Will have to start there.

ALSO, sorry Wendy Greuel and Villaraigosa, you are going to have to start collecting for things like the $250,000 a month LATE FEE on Related Cos, "Grand Ave Project" and all the other un-collected debts and fines that you ignore (LIKE CLEAR CHANNEL BILLBOARD VIOLATIONS), while you stick it to the constituents. ARE YOU CRAZY???? MAN, you better hope I don't win, because I'm not going to be TOO disruptive, BUT I DEFINITELY HAVE TO CALL ATTENTION TO THIS AND PLEASE ASK CITY COUNCIL AND VILLARIGOSA TO OPEN THEIR BLIND EYE. THAT'S WHAT THE PEOPLE SENT ME HERE FOR!

So entire departments and uncollected debt, fines and fees will have to be addressed, or my next motion will be for a recall of Villaraigosa on the ballot!

I HAVE SOME OTHER IDEAS AND WILL ADDRESS THOSE IN A FUTURE POST. But this is enough on this topic for now. Zuma Dogg for City Council says although it's not the backyard "warm and fuzzy" issue you want to hear about regarding what I think the most important issue to be addressed as CM on day one, IT'S THE BUDGET AND PENSION MONEY!!! EVERYTHING ELSE IS AT RISK!

And now...on with the countdown.

NEXT POST: Zuma Dogg For L.A. City Council. Planning and Bldg and Safety and how they violate the community plan and everything is now "complaint driven" and community members want to get to the bottom of the process toward the goal of more efficient results.

Zuma Dogg For City Council: Zuma Dogg Answers YOUR Questions!

Q: I have a question for Zuma. Will you continue to be rude if you're elected?

You have shown you are confrontational. And that's good in some instances. But can you convince me that you're going to be collaborative with your city council colleagues?"

A: That's a perfectly fair and reasonable question. Here's all I can say. First of you, you never know what you are going to get with ANY candidate once they get into office. But regarding your question regarding my performance:

Up until now, I have been ZD the Xtreme Gadfly, and I have been going against hardcore shadiness (dare I call it conspired corruption) and the people in charge don't play around, and you may get a phone call or two once in a while trying to scare you away, or whatever.

And CITY COUNCIL has the deck stacked ALL IN THEIR FAVOR, and you DO NOT get a fair shake and they DO NOT have to listen or take you seriously, so EXCUSE ME if I have to turn into the HULK when they deserve it, as my role as gadfly. LOOK, if I went up there and spoke softly and politely, I wouldn't have cut through and had this impact.

AS COUNCILMEMBER, I assure you, as someone who likes to keep gaining momentum and wants to please the public and DO NOT want to end up tanking in disgrace...

MY CHALLENGE AND GOAL WILL BECOME TO REFLECT THE TONE THAT THE PEOPLE WANT AS COUNCILMEMBER. And that is not the same as what they like (and secretly like) about Zuma Dogg. PLUS, I won't have to shout over Eric Garcetti when he takes my time for no reason because I'll be councilmember, AND, if he WERE to make a mistake or give me a hard time, I wouldn't be able to start yelling. I MEAN...COMMON...I ASSURE YOU I WOULD NOT BE GOING "ZUMA DOGG" ON THEIR ASSES. It wouldn't be accepted by the people, and I would feel like a FOOL.

AND, remember, the term is a year and a half (under two years) so it's actually the perfect opportunity, cause if it was all a big mistake, even without a recall, it won't be long before it's time to vote me out.

So it's a good "trial councilmembership."

AND, one CM called me a "prophet." Another one "a genius." Another one said, "Damn, ZD, what do you do, sit there 18 hours a day and study this stuff?" (After ZD shredded CMs last minute item.) Others talk to me because they know I ALWAYS want to listen to them if they think I am wrong. And a lot of ZD opposition will tell you I search out BOTH sides of the issue and check stuff out with the opposition, too.

AND, like in radio, you might not like that ZD was hired and you have to work with him. But people's careers are on the line, and so is the city, and when ZD is hitting em up with stuff that will make THEM look good, they don't care what color the life preserver is. YOU'LL SEE!

And I think I have shown, even to the people I am attacking from the other side of the rope, seem to feel that ZD's a good guy, and you can reason with him, and even get him to back off or change his opinion if you are able to really convince him with not just B.S.-spin. And he might get mad at you one second, but if he likes what you say the next second, he'll be touting how great your comments are, or whatever. (NO GRUDGES.) And again, A CM said, "Stunned and amazed" in LA Times about me when I walked in the door. Wouldn't it be GREAT if we were all FORCED to work together at the decision of the people (a vote).

THEN, OH NO...Zuma Dogg would have to get back to the responsible life he once lived as a successful innovative, trailblazing radio executive and he would have to shave and act like a corporate executive again (where I didn't behave this way) == AND COUNCIL WILL BE FORCED TO FIND OUT HOW BENEFICIAL I WILL BECOME TO THEIR CAREERS AS I AM ABLE TO PROVIDE SOME CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS. They're gonna LOVE me!
It's gonna be the best experience of their life. History has proven that, and I can't wait to start proving it to everyone!

LET'S DO THIS!

My name is David Saltsburg. You may know me as, "Zuma Dogg" from my non-stop attendance of the L.A. City Council meetings as broadcast on TV 35; my frequent radio calls; or constant blogging. My efforts over the past three years inside City Hall as a champion of the people's voice at the L.A. City Council meetings have been covered by ABC News Nightline, LA Times, LA Weekly, talk radio and local TV news (FOX, KNBC, KCAL, KTLA, KCBS).

As you may have heard, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is backing three of his own BIG MONEY, political insider, machine candidates in hopes of fooling you into voting for one of the three. He's hoping to win the seat out from under the actual community and take control of the district.

I don't have to tell you how the mayor and his other shady council-puppets have destroyed the fabric and character of the community while driving it to the edge of bankruptcy. WE MUST NOT ALLOW VILLARAIGOSA TO WIN CONTROL OF THIS SEAT!

Beside the three City Hall insiders, there are several other candidates on the ballot. But here is why I think I am not only (by far) the most ready and qualified of all other candidates on the ballot; but why I am the candidate you most want to see in that seat; standing up and speaking up for actual community members like you and your neighbors.

First of all, over the past three years, I have woken up and headed down to City Hall for each council meeting. (I recently went over a full year without missing a single council meeting.)

That means I know exaclty what is going on and what has been going on. I know what causes have had which (negative) effects in the community and on the city as a whole.

When these agenda items hit the floor in real time on LIVE TV, you don't want someone who is just coming around, now, because there is a position open who doesn't have the benefit of the avalanche of agenda history. I don't think there is any other candidate on the ballot who is more informed on the issues as they fly through the agenda. I wonder if all the candidates can even read and understand what is being said? Even L.A. City Councilmembers themselves have even called me a "phrophet" and told me that, "half the time, councilmembers are listening to you (Zuma) just to see what's really going on."

Secondly, while at all these meetings, I have spent countless hours speaking not only with the Councilmembers, staffers and city hall insiders who I am able to ask questions (grill) on the issues, but more importantly, I have spent countless hours listening to the thousands of your neighbors and community members from across the city on all these issues.

Additionally, all the time spent at the council meetings, neighborhood council meetings and other committee meetings and events across the city, means I have been tutored and mentored by the most qualified experts themeselves: YOU! (The actual experts in the community.)

My biggest find was discovering pension money was being invested in overly risky Wall Street stocks and real estate projects. We now know the effect this had on the city. I was warning of this before, during and after! Imagine if ONE councilmember would have stood up and demanded an accounting of the LACERS pension money, as they just did recently...AFTER THE FACT! That alone would have saved the city. But council said nothing and I was the only one you will find "on the record" warning of this in advance. I was also the first and only person to warn of "subprime" problems on the record and asked council to prepare for the effects.

David Saltsburg (Zuma Dogg) has over 15 years experience working in the extremely competitive radio and record industry as Program Director, Operations Director and Research Director working for some of the biggest stations in America in Houston, Washington, New York City and Los Angeles.

He was also Director of Charts for Billboard Magazine (BPI) and oversaw the weekly production of five international trade magazines, including the HOT 100 Chart.

Throughout his career, Dave was known as an innovative trailblazer and left the market a buzz for years after his departure.

In his managerial role, he was responsible for the oversight of large staffs with HUGE budgets for hiring, promotion, marketing and research.

You don't go from Columbus, Ohio to Times Square/New York City on word of mouth unless you are offering something most outstanding and accomplishing what no one else out there seems to be able to (producing noticable results). And this isn't public money (that isn't actually theirs') that these radio operators are playing with. THEY ARE PLAYING WITH THEIR OWN REAL MONEY...AND YOU DON'T TRUST A $100 MILLION RADIO STATION TO SOMEONE WHO ISN'T FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, which includes being able to work with, manage and inspire workers to do their best and have an uplifting environment in which to work. IF YOU HAVE BAD MORALE, YOU WILL HAVE BAD EVERYTHING ELSE.

So when other candidates jump up there and say, "I'm going to have the best constituent services," remember that is oh so VERY, VERY easy to say.

I can say that I have not only studied quality management (how to actually ACCOMPLISH your goal of constituent services), was published on the topic (including in "Quality Digest"), have been recognized by Deming himself and have implemented this in my radio career that took me from Columbus, Ohio to NYC (#1 Radio Market in the world).

If you haven't heard of me, start asking around about, "Zuma Dogg" and what it would mean if I was the next City Councilmember. I hope they will tell you that I have stood up and spoken out against the fraud, waste, abuse and overall anti-community spirit. After attending all the meetings, and speaking to all the people, and as someone who cares enough to have done all of this on my own time, all I have to do is walk a few feet over to the seat itself and continue to reflect and represent the voice of community. If Villaraigosa and a bunch of City Councilmember don't like it...GOOD! They've been winning by default. On September 22nd, you have a real opportunity to vote not only for a grassroots candiate, but someone who actually knows what's going on and a person who thousands of people have rallied behind as a single, concerned citizen speaking up. LET'S DO IT! SEPTEMBER 22nd!

BREAKING NEWS: LA TIMES STORY ON TAMAR GALATZAN'S SHADY CAMPAIGN TACTICS OVER LAUSD MAILERS

Foes criticize mailers sent by L.A. council candidate Galatzan

They say the pieces, which were sent in her role as a L.A. school board member and concern school issues, actually promote her bid for the 2nd District seat.

By Maeve Reston

Foes of Los Angeles City Council candidate Tamar Galatzan accused her Monday of unfairly promoting her candidacy by sending mailers touting her work as a sitting school board member.

Galatzan's lawyer, Stephen Kaufman [who has worked with Villaragiosa, Greuel, Yes on B losing argument against Noel Weiss in court and Martin Ludlow and now is working for Tamar], said there was nothing improper about the mailers, which do not mention Galatzan's council candidacy. He said she was merely trying to communicate with her constituents about school issues. [YEAH, RIGHT. THE SAME WEEKEND ABSENTEE BALLOT WERE IN THE MAILBOX IN HOPES OF HER STEPPING DOWN! HAS A FLIER LIKE THIS EVER BEEN SENT OUT BEFORE?]

The three mailers, which Kaufman said were paid for with money from Galatzan's school board campaign committee [NO, it came out of her "Officeholder's Account, which is MUCH worse, because she left $60,000 in her campaign fund that was transferred into her officeholder's account...WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE CLASSROOM OR KIDS OR PROGRAMS...NOT SELF-PROMOTION], began arriving just before voters began casting mail-in ballots for the 2nd Council District special election, which will be held Sept. 22.

[SIDEBAR ON KAUFMAN FROM LA DAILY BLOG READER:
Kaufman is involved with a who's who of sleazy L.A. Politics. He represents the Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa regarding ethical violations and other dubious campaign activities. He represents Rocky Delgadillo, Martin Ludlow, Kelly Cadenale's ethics problem, Measure B, and Kaufman was the architect of the implosion of the non-profit Public Interest Pictures.]

"In the less than three years I have been on the Board, we're starting to see Valley schools turn the corner. There is much, much more to do, but we're making progress," Galatzan writes in the mailer. "

[ZD: So she is sending out a mailer saying, "much, much more to do" while she is running for City Council in hopes of walking away from that "much, much more to do." Remember, City Council is MUCH more money than LAUSD school board member.]

The mailer immediately prompted criticism by the campaigns of several of Galatzan's council opponents, who initially questioned whether the mailing and postage were paid for by the school board office -- which Kaufman dismissed as "absolutely false."

Candidate Frank Sheftel said the mailer was "suspiciously timed to when the absentee ballots come out." Candidate David "Zuma Dogg" Saltsburg called the flier "purposely deceitful."

John Shallman, a consultant to former Paramount Pictures Corp. executive and candidate Christine Essel, accused Galatzan of "raising unlimited and undisclosed special interest money through one of her political committees to promote her candidacy for city council."

"It's corruption plain and simple -- and just another example of her singular focus on her political career and not the children of the LAUSD," Shallman said.

Eric Hacopian, a consultant to council candidate and state Assemblyman Paul Krekorian (D-Burbank), "The city is well known for having some of the strictest laws for what you can and can't do," Hacopian said. "When you are obviously spending money for an account that is not intended for the purpose of this campaign then you are playing fast and loose with the rules."

"Tamar continues to take her duties and responsibilities as school board member very seriously [as she is campaigning to hopefully walk away] and this was one way she sought to communicate with her constituents about issues of importance to the school district," Kaufman said.

[ZD: YEAH, RIGHT TAMAR. HOW DUMB DO YOU THINK THE VOTERS ARE WHEN YOU TRY AND SPIN THEM WITH THAT?]

Here's an email I just got from someone:

I am sure by now you have seen the mailers from Tamar Galatzan on behalf of the LAUSD.
Full color brochures that look oddly enough like campaign mailers paid for by the school district?? As if there is money to spare to send out two mailers in three days asking for your opinion on how the LAUSD is performing. In 20 years I never received ONE flyer...now two in three days with a candidate's color photo, signature and quote?? This stinks!

[LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE NOT BUYING IT, TEAM GALTZAN! Or at least won't be voting for it.]

Tamar Galtzan's Decietful LAUSD Mailer is MORE Than Shady...THE MONEY COULD HAVE BEEN USED FOR LAUSD KIDS & THE CLASSROOM!

ALRIGHT, it's official...time to wave your finger in front of you and say, "SHAME ON YOU, TAMAR GALATZAN!" YOU HURT KIDS! And not only that, your LAUSD mailers, are indeed...PURPOSEFULLY DECEIVING IN MY OPINION. Here's the scenario on the mailers as seen through the bamboozle-busting eye of L.A. City Council Candidate David Saltsburg, better-known in the community as, "Zuma Dogg."

First of all, the LAUSD mailers that Tamar Galatzan sent out to people in CD 2 over the weekend WAS NOT paid for with taxpayer money. IT WAS, HOWEVER, paid for out of her LAUSD Officeholder's Account.

The money was transferred into that account from her Tamar Galatzan for Boardmember Campaign Contribution account when she ran for LAUSD school board, which you all remember because it was not that long ago that she was running for school board. (Yes, she's walking away from her committment from schools and kids and parents if she gets her wishes of leaving the school board in favor of the bigger and longer pay-day as L.A. City Councilgoeralonger. (And yes, when asked at the Sunland-Tujunga candidate forum about how she felt if voter approved a pay cut from $180,000 to $90,000, how she felt. She shook her head "no" and said, as someone with a family of five (was it five?) she couldn't afford the pay cut. So in other words, she is doing it as a money-gig and snubbed at doing it for only a mere $90,000.)

Anyway, it's all relevant, and here we go:

When Tamar had her LAUSD campaign account, she had two accounts. The infamous campaign account with the approximately $2 million raised privately by Mayor Anotnio Villariagosa.

She also had her own separate Tamar for Member/Shember and it had approximately $150,000, or so in the account.

A WHOPPING $100,000 OF THAT WAS DONATED BY ONE SINGLE PERSON, CASEY WASSERMAN.

You may know Casey Wasserman's name, not only as a relative of MGM mogul Lou Wasserman, but of Casey's own Green Dot Charter School support. Wasserman is also a big supporter of the LAUSD reform motion being voted on tomorrow (Aug 25) by Tamar Galatzan, who is still a school board member. So I expect Tamar to vote, "Yes" on the motion, and I would also expect her to "thank" Casey Wasserman for his contribution to this motion. Maybe she'll use the word, "effort" instead of "contribution" come to think of it.

Now here's the part that hurts kids and schools and will sicken you:

Out of the $150,000-$160,000, (approx) in the LAUSD campaign account, SIXTY THOUSAND OF IT ($60,000) WAS LEFT IN THE CAMPAIGN FUND AND TRANSFERRED INTO HER LAUSD OFFICE HOLDER ACCOUNT!!!!

And what does she use it for? Books, computers, after school programs, another teacher, a tutor for a kid...whatever you could think of to help out in this budget crisis -- what does Tamar Galatzan spend it on?:

[Click on flier for heart tugging, "much, much more to go..." as she hopes to walk out the door. Flier courtesy of Mayor Sam's blog.]

SENDING OUT AN LAUSD FLIER THAT SAYS, "There is MUCH, MUCH more to do..." EVEN THOUGH IF SHE GETS HER WAY AND WISH...SHE WILL BE WALKING AWAY FROM ALL THAT "MUCH-MUCH" MORE TO DO!!! In other words, just when the absentee ballots hit the mailboxes, SO DOES TAMAR'S FLIER ABOUT HOW MUCH PROGRESS SHE HAS MADE (laughable comments) AS LAUSD SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER. In other words, she is sending out a flier touting how great she is...AS BALLOTS ARE IN THE SAME MAILBOX AND SHE IS HOPING THEY VOTE HER AWAY FROM LAUSD AND THE COMMITMENTS SHE MAKES IN THE FLIER.

But besides that, here's why I consider absolutely intentionally deceiving at a much shadier level. (And the flier saying, "much much more to do" while you are hoping you are able to quit as soon as the votes are counted is deceiving enough because no where does it say she wants to quit.)

Here's what's worse: BESIDES the officeholder account money being to be able to be used for classroom and kids and programs or to donate to the right non-profit or to feed homeless students, or whatever -- and using it for your own self-serving mailers during while you are campaigning for a bigger paycheck away from LAUSD...

THE PEOPLE WHO GAVE YOU MONEY FOR YOUR TAMAR FOR BOARD MEMBER ACCOUNT GAVE IT TO YOU TO USE FOR LAUSD AND THE SCHOOLS!!!

In other words, I'm sure when someone gives money for you to run as LAUSD school board member, they are not expecting you to use it to run for City Council. So they gave you the money, back then, FOR LAUSD AND THE SCHOOLS AND THE KIDS. And look what you do with it. THAT, to me, is purposefully deceiving.

AND WORSE, the fact that the rest of us City Council candidates have to stick to a $500 limit per campaign contribution, AND YOU USED MONEY TO PAY FOR YOUR MAILERS WITH MONEY FROM A CAMPAIGN WHERE YOU WERE ALLOWED TO RAISE $100,000 FROM ONE, SINGLE DONOR (Casey Wasserman)!!!

THAT'S PROBABLY MORE THAN YOU HAVE IN YOUR ENTIRE TAMAR CITY COUNCIL CAMPAIGN FUND.

AND YOU LEFT $60,000 IN THAT FUND (WHO LEAVES THAT MUCH LEFT OVER IN A CAMPAIGN, AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO SPEND IT TO MAKE SURE YOU WIN? (Maybe Tamar knew the mayor's $2 million would be enough, so she went out there and "raised" $100,000 from Stuart that she knew she could keep around for when she runs for City Council.

So no offense to Stuart, who may have had no idea Tamar would be using the money this way.

ADD IT ALL UP...AND YOU HAVE CAMPAIGN MONEY LAUNDERING 101!!!

Not very becoming of a city prosecutor or Los Angeles City Councilmember. IS THIS THE TYPE OF SHADY TRICKS YOU WANT TO PERPETUATE???

And if there are any Tamar supporters left, they thank Casey for those slick LAUSD mailers that may allow her to walk away from the "much, much more."

http://electZUMA.com Yes, my name is Zuma Dogg and if elected, I will make sure any and all money left over in the office holder's account is contributed into the community, not money launder it.
