First of all, they had FABULOUS different kinds of shrimp, including Teryiaki shrimp like I had never had at Wendy Greuel's City Controller Party on the CBC Radford lot.
Zuma Dogg had a great time making movers and shakers nervous that I was there. CM Jose Huizar, Carmen Trutanich, David Nahai, CD 2 Candidates Chris Essel, Roger Krekorian and Frank Sheftel were there, along with David Hernandez and a bunch of other diginitaries were in attendance. (Joe B, Abbey, Kristen and other locals, too!) It was a lot of fun for ZD, who is very burnt out and at the end of his activist rope, to mingle among the crowd and be so warmly received by the masses who let me know they are watching ZD on TV 35 and digging what I am saying.
And ZD met the Chris Essel posse, and ZD was very nausated to see that a lot of the people he liked on some other campaigns were supporting Chris, and there was a big matchmaking push behind out mutual friends to get ZD and Chirs to meet. ZD was nervous about getting in trouble from people on HIS side, and vica versa. But Chris got the go ahead nod from her people that a photo op with ZD would be GOOD thing, and although ZD is a long way from endorsing Chris Essel, looks like ZD may have to use a double strength nose clip to get behind any candidate, cause I'm sure as HELL not gonna get behind Tamar Galatzan if she runs, and Paul Krekorian...NOT...for reasons that will be discussed later. Paul's not a bad guy, and I don't like to take sides, but I have a few issues with him. So anyway, it was at least to meet Chris who is very charming, but I think she really is pretty green and will be the bend-over puppet of all time, so we'll see.
ZD AND WENDY HUG!!!: When ZD took a picture with Chris Essel, Wendy REFUSED to get in the picture with ZD and I think she even physicially shoved me away. (Just kidding, she just RAN away.) But, Wendy saw ZD having a good time and I may have appeared almost human to her at some point. So when I was tourturing Huizar by telling him all the stuff I am hearing (that's what the relationship has been reduced to, I just punish him by telling him all the dirt I hear about him), Wendy had to come over to say goodbye to Huizar, and she gave him a hug.
So Wendy had no choice but to say, "Bye Zuma Dogg." Cause I was standing right there when she hugged Huizar, so Zuma Dogg says, "I want a hug, too!" You're controller now, you're not a councilmember. We're starting fresh. You're not a councilmember, anymore. And I imposed my hug on Wendy and she endured it and embraced it for an appropriate amount of time and she didn't completely push me away. YOU'VE COME A LONG WAY, BABY! ZD AND WENDY HUGGED! Biggest shocker since the Berlin Wall coming down! But seriously, it was a good energy, ZD was well received by the crowd (and that's not ego, but a good sign that I use to judge things) and I felt like a human being in society for a little.
JACK WEISS RUMOR MILL: Now the only reason I am not saying this is for sure is because I can't believe Villaraigosa would even do it. BUT, today, ZD heard that tommorrow Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will announce Jack "Jackass" Weiss to that LAX airport security job people have been talking about; and upon the announcement L.A. District Attorney Steve Cooley will indicit the FUCK out of Antonio Villaraiogsa until there's nothing left.
HEY ANTONIO, IF THIS IS TRUE...YOU BETTER MAKE THE WEISS ANNOUNCEMENT THEN HOP ON A PLANE TO DUBAI AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF TOWN.
MAN, oh MAN, Jack Weiss must have the goods on you. What is it Antonio? Pictures of some naked dancing days? I mean seriously, brotha...HOW COME YOU ARE LETTING JACK WEISS RUIN YOU? Antonio, my man...no bullshit, son. If you make that Jack Weiss announcement, YOU WILL BE INDICTED, LIKE DURING YOUR SWEARING IN.
ZUMA TIMES HAS LEARNED THAT DISTRICT ATTORNEY STEVE COOLEY HAS WHAT HE NEEDS TO PUT THE SMACK DOWN AND ANTONIO IS REALLY IN A CORNER.
IT'S OVER BRO! YOU BLEW IT.
AND SOMEONE TOLD ME THEY "CONFIRMED IT." I mean I spoke with some people on the phone today who seem very certain about this, and they are PISSED certain, not boasting certain.
So that's it...it's High Noon Showdown on Spring Street at Wednesday's Mayoral, City Attorney and Controller showdown.
If Antonio makes the announcement that Jack Weiss is even getting a job selling hot dogs at the airport concession stand, INDICTMENTS WILL FALL...THEY GOT ANTONIO...ON A HELL OF A LOT.
IT'S OVER KIDDIES. WENDY AIN'T EVEN GONNA GET HER OFFICE SUPPLIES LINED UP BEFORE SHE IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR AGAINST GARCETTI, ZUMA DOGG, JAN PERRY AND RICK CARUSO.
Anyway, see all of y'all at the inaguration in the manana!
UPDATE: Zuma's source who said it was, "Confirmed by someone inside LAX" should re-confirm it cause I heard NO WAY WILL VILLARAIGOSA BE GIVING JACK WEISS ANY JOB, PERIOD.

It's Getting Nasty in L.A. City Council Chambers Now That Jackass Weiss Is Still Yappin' His Dumb Trap (As If He WON, Instead of Lost!)
Frankly, I don't need a lecture from YOU on how to make public policy." - CM Janice Hahn to Jack Weiss during today's council meeting.
It's getting ugly at the council meetings as all hell is breaking loose and Jack Weiss is still around. A lot of hoopla over a PLUM project and I guess Ed "Dummy" Reyes took some heat in what Jack Weiss called a "food fight" and lectured council on the future and how they should operate.
SORRY JACKASS, you couldn't win your seat back, and you lost City Attorney. NO ONE WANTS YOU. How about sit down and shut up. Ya feel me, dough? On the realest, son...YOU'RE DONE. Now walk off into the sunset with your mouth SHUT. You didn't say shit for years unless it was for your city attorney campaign which you lost, so again: STFU, son!
Oops. Janice "I'm Smart Like My Brother" Hahn is so used to voting "yes" automatically, without even thinking...that when she finally wanted to vote "no" on something...she forgot to press her "no" button (if you do not press the button, it automatically votes, "yes"), so it registered a "yes" vote. So Hahn had to ask for her vote to be changed. HOWEVER, since it would change the outcome (her "yes" vote to a "no" vote) since the ordinance required a "unanimous" vote on the first reading.
However, due to time constraints it would have messed everything up...I don't know...she ended up just leaving it alone, but what an airhead. ALL THAT JIBBER-JABBER AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN VOTE THE WAY YOU WANTED TO. WHY EVEN BOTHER SHOWING UP?

Anyone intersted in the CD 5/Century City/Westfield, LLC project?
Here's the first part of the 23 page document:
CONFIDENTIAL SETTLEMENT DISCUSSION
May 27, 2009
Mike Eveloff
The Coalition of Homeowners Associations
Los Angeles, CA 90025
Re: The New Century Plan: Agreement as to the Coalition
Dear Mr. Eveloff:
Thank you for the opportunity to work together to address the concerns of the Coalition, which include the California Country Club Homes Association, Cheviot Hills Homeowners Association, Cheviot Hills Traffic Safety Association, Overland Avenue Community, Tract 7260 Homeowners Association, West of Westwood Homeowners Association, Westwood Gardens Civic Association, and Westwood Homeowners Association (the “Coalition”), who have together filed a City of Los Angeles appeal (the “Appeal”) of the New Century Plan (the “Project”). We are pleased that the Coalition and Westfield, LLC, the Project applicant, have been able to reach an understanding and agreement regarding the Project as outlined in this agreement (the “Agreement”).
As detailed below, Westfield agrees to provide funding for transportation and school improvements within the areas of the Coalition. In return, the Coalition agrees to dismiss the Appeal and to support the Project and the Project’s entitlements and environmental clearance under the California Environmental Quality Act, which are collectively referred to in this Agreement as the Project Approvals and more fully described in Attachment A, that are currently being considered for approval and certification by the City of Los Angeles, including any future modification which does not increase the Project’s size or traffic impacts on the Coalition. By signing this Agreement, all parties memorialize this mutual understanding...
[IF THIS IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE READ, LET ME KNOW. And maybe you can read it and explain it to me over dinner at a very fancy and expensive dinner of my choice that you are buying. I could just email it to you, but I'm too hungry and don't have enough energy to press the send button.]

Is Villaraigosa About To Appoint Jack Weiss Deputy Mayor of Homeland Security at $200,000 a year?
This came into my email inbox. They seem to think this is true. The rumors have been out there, but this is a little more detail:
"Hidden in the new budget is for the Mayor to add the position of Deputy Mayor of Homeland Security, pays $200,000 year, is housed at LAX and paid for by Airport funds. The Mayor is appointing Jack Weiss to the position...it even gets better, the Airport is laying off 24 employees and filling the positions with the entire Jack Weiss City Hall staff.
[Insert outrage here.]

FINAL WARNING: Vote CARMEN TRUTANICH For L.A. City Attorney
DO NOT BE BAMBOOZLED BY NEGATIVE ATTACK ADS FROM JACK WEISS' CORRUPT POSSE. This election is about much bigger things (and by "things" I mean corruption at it's highest level) than anything covered in these dumb ads meant to scare you.
I said let's keep this simple...I CANNOT THINK OF ANYTHING WORSE IF YOU ARE AGAINST CORRUPTION THAN HAVING JACK WEISS AS CITY ATTORNEY. Call me if you need me to further talk you off the ledge, if you are still thinking of voting for Jack.

More Insider Emails From ZD's Wetherly Capital PENSIONGATE Insider
[Pictured: A helicopter (along with small boat) were parked outside my Wetherly Pensiongate scandal source's ocean front home yesterday (following up last week's appearance.]So much fascinating information pouring into Zuma Dogg's "PensionGate" headquarters, here at LA Daily Blog, that I set up a side blog (http://PensionGate.BlogSpot.com) so that I can post a lot of the background "connect the dot" articles from across the internet ALONG WITH excerpts from some very compelling emails to me by an insider who not only was on retainer with Wetherly Captial, and sat in on board meetings (see excerpt below) but appears to me that he may in fact be the consulting architect who came up with all this shady stuff now being blogged about, starting back in 2001.
The guy who sent me that memo is the one who tipped me to Julio Ramirez's name, relating to Wetherly/Dan Weinstein a couple days before he plead "guilty" to security fraud. AND, has sent me about 1,000,000 words worth of emails between he and William H. Jackson, the Villaraigosa-appointed Chairman of the Board of the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) responsible for "eminent domain" decisions and the wonderful boondoggle "Grand Ave Project." Jackson also, so happens, has a LOOOOOOOONG past with Wetherly Capital as their attorney.
EXCERPT:
[Pictured: Sources home the helicopter was buzzing on Thursday.]

Zuma Dogg,
I take it that you are not going to make it down to [location] today in time for the art show reception at [location]?
You also know that the vast majority of people reading this communiqué, not just here in the U.S. but around the world including places like Peru, China, South Africa and Israel, could care less what a street person such as yourself has to say, and before you say to yourself, “I know , but don’t care, blah blah” remind yourself that I, someone who has huge credibility amongst the world’s top movers and shakers, cares deeply about the fact that despite your limited resources, constantly hungry, constantly on the edge, never whining just getting on with business, you find a communication of mine going back to April 20th of 2004 to a not exactly “nobody” intimately involved in the finances of both the State of California and the US Federal Government.
[ZD: Thank you! Thank you! Yes, I found the critical 2004 document and recognized the significance that most would find innocuous! I posted it in a comment section yesterday on this blog for safe keeping.]
You do understand that I don’t expect to be alive when presenting my-our case of treason against the corrupt US Congress et al, and why I live this life with a constant smile on my face knowing without feeling the need to get any confirmation from anyone, that I have truth on my side.
Notice how the corrupt “powers that be” who are being exposed at Internet light-speed have not yet even managed to stop you ferreting out such important information considering.
October 8th, 2001 was the first board meeting of the Wetherly Capital Group that I attended and where I received a copy of that most incriminating “voter fraud” document [posted on this blog, see Julio Ramires/Simon "special situation fund" posts] detailing the connection between Richard Dick Ziman’s Wetherly Capital Group with extraordinarily close ties to former Democratic California Gray Davis, and William Simon, the son of the billionaire former Secretary of the Treasury, who was the Republican candidate for Governor in the upcoming November 2002 Gubernatorial elections.
I arrived some 15 minutes late for October 8th “strategy meeting” which was held in the office next to the Chairman of the Board of the Wetherly Capital Group.
Not only was Dick Ziman in attendance, but he was at the same time the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Arden Realty, the largest Real Estate Investment Trust [REIT] trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
So PENSIONGATE.Blogspot.com it is! And you can go there now for more of this inside memo:

Two BIG Reasons We MUST SAY NO To City Attorney Candidate Jack Weiss (THIS TUESDAY MAY 19th!)
First of all, hello, I hope, to California Attorney General Jerry Brown whose office I contacted and notified of inside information that is being posted all over this http://LADailyBlog.com.
In a moment, I will post about City Attorney Candidate Jack Weiss and REASON #1 WHY YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR HIM THIS TUESDAY MAY 19th in the city attorney election -- and now, MUST VOTE FOR CARMEN TRUTANICH!
But to warm you up, here's REASON #2, a FOX 11 News report by John Schwada.)
WATCH THIS VIDEO:
Jack Weiss' FELONY FUNDRAISER

And now, on American Top 40, I'm Casey Kasem. And comin' in at #1 on the charts, here's why Jack Weiss should not be City Attorney. (Wipes emotional "long distance dedication tear as voice slightly quivers.) I'm Casey Kasem:
L.A. City Attorney Candidate JACK WEISS TIED to GUILTY Weatherly Capital FEDERAL Verdict!

The press is missing the boat on the incestuous relationship between Wetherly Capital, DAV Wetherly, Dan Weinstein, Vicky Schiff, Richard Ziman, Peter Borges, Rexford Industrial, American Value Partners (AVP), and Arden Realty.
Wetherly Capital and its owners Weinstein, Schiff, Borges, and Ziman are deeply embroiled in the New York, New Mexico, Los Angeles, and possibly nationwide (Connecticut and others) pension fund scandal involving placement agents.
The New York and Federal indictments state that Wetherly shared placement fees with indicted Hank Morris around the country including, New Mexico, California, and Los Angeles.
And now, yesterday, Julio Ramirez has plead guilty to charges that NY Attorney Genral Cuomo says includes two illegal "money laundering" transactions involving Wethery Capital and names Dan Weinstein, again all of this tying to the Hank Morris arrest.
Ramirez is going to co-operate in this Federal investigation, and it's going to get ugly when he starts talking and everyone is throwing dirt everyone else's way to cover their own asses.
Some people I talk to, because I value their "take" on all of this DO BELIEVE THIS WILL WORK IT'S WAY ALL THE WAY UP TO THE MAYOR'S OFFICE. (And maybe even the mayor himself.) All over the exact shady "commissioner appointments" that Zuma Dogg has been blasting about for one solid year; and was sure to spend a minutes worth of time during my three minute mayoral TV spot for Channel 35, when NO ONE IN THE CITY WAS SCREAMING ABOUT THE PENSION COMMISSIONERS, EXCEPT ZUMA DOGG!
And I screamed it over, and over and over and over, on the record, before city council and on TV 35; along with massive blogging.
In addition, when I did an article for LA Weekly regarding the Grand Avenue Project, I saw that LACERS pension money was invested in the project.
I had never hear of LACERS and didn't know anything about city employee pension funds, but when I found out it was public money for people's retirements; and I knew what I believed to be a LEMON of a project (Grand Ave Project) that would never get off the ground, and was MUCH TOO RISKY OF AN INVESTMENT FOR WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE INVESTMENT GRADE INVESTMENTS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MONEY IN THE CITY.
I blogged and commented before council, until for whatever reason (either because they came to their own conclusions about the project; or because ZD MADE them aware (and "EXPOSED IT" as Schwarzenegger told me to keep doing, yesterday when we met, briefly, yet effectively, in person, yesterday, where I personally told him, face to face that this whole pension scandal will tie to Wetherly and that Dan Weinstein is in big trouble.
Later that evening, after blogging about Julio Ramirez over the previous 24 hours, and after my face to face discussion with the Governor about it, he pleads "guilty" to security exchange fraud tied to Wetherly Capital and two transactions that the NY Attorney General call, "money laundering."
And Wetherly Capital's head honcho/shot caller/Godfather, whatever you want to call the main financial backer who calls the shots at the top, RICHARD ZIMAN, held a campaign fundraiser for CITY ATTORNEY CANDIDATE JACK WEISS...AT ZIMAN'S HOME...ALSO HOSTED BY DAN WEINSTEIN!!!
The same fundraiser that Villaraigosa's pension board appointee resigned over!!!
And that was the third Villaraigosa commissioner to step down following the resignations of Sean Harrigan and Elliott Broidy on the heels of the SEC inquiry into the two.
And now, Wetherly's former pension fund "front man" for Dan Goldstein (see LA Daily Blog) Jose Ramirez pleads GUILTY to charges involving Wetherly.
AND THE "GODFATHER" OF WETHERLY, RICHARD ZIMAN HAS A FUNDRAISER AT HIS HOUSE FOR JACK WEISS WITH A PENSION COMMISSIONER AS WETHERLY CAPITAL IS ABOUT TO ALL COME TUMBLING DOWN IN A FEDERAL SWEEP THAT WILL BE THE BIGGEST THING WE'VE SEEN SINCE WATERGATE!!!
And they are backing Jack Weiss???
And Villaraigosa is behind Jack Weiss as his campaign backer, with all the same campaign staff, and all the help from Villar's pension commissioners and Wetherly Capital...ALL PUSHING FOR JACK WEISS???
Now I know there are a lot of important issues in the City and a lot of things to consider when choosing a City Attorney candidate.
But as many of you know, there is even much more regarding Jack Weiss and his choice of cronies throwing fundraisers for his campaign. (See Fox 11 News website for story on Jack Weiss fundraiser held by a white collar crime felon.)
HE'S RUNNING FOR CITY ATTORNEY!
So I am here to say, not to be a one issue guy, but this is an issue that absolutely OVERWHELMS me when thinking about the City Attorney election next week, Tuesday May 19th.
How can you elect a City Attorney whose main campaign backers are felons, Wetherly Capital folks (who are now tied to Ramirez and his arrest, and now it's ALL going to come tumbling down), and they were all probably pushing for Jack so hard, because they needed him in there to cover the tracks because they are headed to City Hall and the mayor's office, from what I am told.
It depends how deep they decided to probe. But spidey senses say, "yes" to "mayor's office."
THAT'S IT REALLY FOR ME. I know there are other issues other people consider, but I PERSONALLY BELIEVE, and anyone who knows me or reads this blog or works at a radio station knows that I feel this pension scandal (now called "pensiongate") is again, an OVERWHELMING issue when you look at what is wrong with the city.
THIS IS THE ISSUE THAT WILL CAUSE THE CITY TO FALL INTO BANKRUPTCY, SOONER THAN LATER...YOU MARK MY WORDS!!! And it's over the $7 billion loss of pension money on Wall Street, in the hands of these pension commissioners, appointed and re-appointed by Villaragiosa that is a bigger problem than the Neighborhood Council budget or ANY OTHER SINGLE ISSUE YOU CAN THINK OF!
THE CITY LOST $7 BILLION IN PENSION MONEY IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE NOW BEING CALLED "MONEY LAUNDERERS" WHO INVESTED IN "SHILL" COMPANIES!
AND THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IS NOW ON THE HOOK FOR THIS MONEY AND IN 2013, CITY OFFICIALS INFORMED COUNCIL THAT 56% OF EVERY DOLLAR WILL BE GOING TO BAIL OUT THE PENSION FUND.
I have known City Attorney Candidate Carmen Trutanich since the day he started making the rounds in the community during the first election (this Tuesday is the run-off election between Jack Weiss and Trutanich).
And I like Carmen a lot. I like the way he explains his vision for the city attorney's office...what the problems are with the current office; what kind of City Attorney he would be, and I really LOVED IT!
I have to remember back to those inital conversations that were so refreshing and really knocked me out (Nuch is a boxer, anyway), so much so that I took him around to some of the neighborhood meetings, introduced him to all my CD 14 activist friends, all the SLAP people, the DWP meetings, I posted YouTubes, spoke on TV 35 about Nuch...and it's been a long time...seems like a LIFETIME ago since we recorded those videos at the Casa Princesa.
And I'd like to add in all objectivity (pulling out my Deming 14 point notes from the seminar I attended in 1990): We really have no idea what kind of city attorney EITHER candidate would be, in the day to day realities of the job.
We can merely make "predictions" based on what we hear and what we know from previous performance.
BUT ALL I KNOW...AS BIG ZD, ZUMA DOGG, SPENDING THREE YEARS ATTENDING THESE COUNCIL MEETINGS; scanning agenda; listening to insiders; and REALLY looking at the BIG LEVEL corruption that is the ROOT of all of the day-to-day (now) "small potato' problems Zuma Dogg and others have been griping about...
THIS PENSION SCANDAL IS IT...AND NOW IT TIES TO THE CITY ATTORNEY CANDIDATE IN A WAY THAT IS SO STRONG...
I AM NOW GOING ONE STEP FURTHER;
AND NOT JUST "INFORMING" YOU ABOUT CARMEN "NUCH" TRUTANICH;
BUT AS AN ACTIVIST WHO CARES ABOUT THE CITY AS A WHOLE; AND TAKING THE BIGGEST BITE OUT OF CRIME (CORRUPTION) POSSIBLE...
I AM BEGGING YOU...
TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO REMEMBER TO VOTE THIS TUESDAY MAY 19th FOR CARMEN TRUTANICH.
Just tell 'em to to look for "True" as in "Trutanich." (They'll remember.)
DONATE TO TRUTANICH NOW! THAT'S RIGHT, Zuma Dogg is actually asking you to donate to SOMEONE else, other than Zuma Dogg. That is how unprecidented and mind-boggling of a bamboozlement this whole situation is, in my opinion.

I AM NOW GOING ONE STEP FURTHER;
AND NOT JUST "INFORMING" YOU ABOUT CARMEN "NUCH" TRUTANICH;

Carmen Trutanich Campaign Update: LESS than TWO WEEKS until critical city attorney election
LA DAILY BLOG CAMPAIGN UPDATE:
Cash on Hand as of 5/2
Cash on Hand as of 5/2
Trutanich $340,000
Weiss $209,000
WITH LESS THAN TWO WEEKS UNTIL THE CITY ATTORNEY ELECTION (TUESDAY) MAY 19th, I WANTED TO POST THIS EMAIL I GOT FROM NUCH AS A REMINDER TO YOU, AS WELL.
From : "Trutanich for City Attorney"
To : ZumaDogg@Gmail.com
Subject : TRU News: Campaign Update
Date : Fri, May 08, 2009 04:09 PM
Dear TRU Friends,
We are less than two weeks from Election Day. We have been on the campaign trail with our grassroots message for eighteen months. Yes, we have come so far, but this is no time to slow down. I am counting on your ACTIVE support in new and old ways. First, catch up on our news. Then, pick up your phone, reach out to your email buddies, make your final donation, and ask every friend to help bring this race home!
Here is an update of the most current news surrounding the City Attorney's race:
John and Ken and Doug McIntyre Vote Trutanich:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
During Monday evening drive time, I was interviewed on the John and Ken Show. At the end of their segment, John and Ken announced on air that they will vote for me. Doug McIntyre also welcomed me to his broadcast, again urging his listeners to vote Trutanich. These are TRU badges of honor since my hosts are known for their distrust of politicians. Their point is also mine: I am a lawyer, not a politician. Click here for John and Ken, podcast.
TRU Lawn Signs Are Ready for Pick Up:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Due to the overwhelming demand for lawn signs, we have ordered a whole new batch. Call the campaign office at (818) 308-7400 to reserve yours now! From now through Election Day, our headquarters, at 12524 Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, will open from 10 to noon on Saturdays, in addition to weekday business hours, for sign pick up. The signs go quickly, so don't delay!
Trutanich Debates on KCRW Which Way LA:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Last week I debated my opponent, Jack Weiss, on KCRW Which Way LA. His voice cracked when I asked him about his most recent violation of our ethics laws, the hosting of an illegal fundraiser. It is stunning to me that Weiss seeks election to the post responsible for enforcing the very laws that he routinely breaks. Click here to listen to the KCRW podcast.
LA Times Endorses Trutanich, Again!:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The LA Times endorsed me in the primary and has strengthened its message of support for this runoff election: "Trutanich would bring a fresh perspective to City Hall, along with the experience to deal with crime, the backbone to defend the city against lawsuits and threats of lawsuits, and an understanding of the many wearying assaults on neighborhoods that this office is best equipped to combat, from graffiti to dumping to illegal billboards." Click here to read the entire editorial.
I appreciate all you have done for me and I will never forget it.
Don't forget to vote this May 19th!
Yours TRU-ly,
Carmen Trutanich

Does L.A. Pension Scandal Tie To (City Attorney Candidate) Jack Weiss at Home?
[Pictured: City Attorney candidate Jack Weiss reads the latest post by Zuma Dogg and sees he still has nothing better to do thank blog about all the corruption people email his way.]
Longtime Los Angeles City Councilmember and CURRENT City Attorney candidate Jack Weiss' wife, Leslie Kautz (Aka: Leslie Kautz-Weiss) was (is?) an investment pension advisor for the Metro Transit Authority (MTA) employee pension fund.
There is an L.A. Superior Court lawsuit from July 31, 2001 (case # BC255110) filed by MTA against the pension investment house that lost $17 million; with Leslie Kautz named as a third party.
Kautz was represented by Mannatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP (Los Angeles, CA 90064) in the case. AND GUESS WHAT...Jack Weiss, for some reason, shows OUTGOING expenditures on the LA City Ethics website to Mannatt, Phelps & Phillip (and I've already added up over $100,000 from what I see here) -- as recently as 2008 and March 31st 2009...FOR LEGAL DEFENSE!!! (Hummana, hummana, hummana!) WHOSE LEGAL DEFENSE???
AND NOW, that Zuma Dogg has unraveled this whole LACERS pension scandal (See SEC investigation), the whole thing looks like a bunch of people have to get Jack elected as City Attorney to try and keep as much of this mess from being exposed by the NEXT city attorney.
By the way, the city attorney election is Tuesday, May 19th. Carmen Trutanich is the OTHER guy running.

City of Los Angeles...The NEW Graffiti City!
When you think of a city littered with graffiti, I think of classic video of New York City in the 70's. Well, they cleaned up New York City. So now, The City of Los Angeles is the NEW, KING of Graffiti!

Welcome to Los Angeles...GRAFFITI CITY! It starts as soon as you enter the 10.

Zuma Dogg has already declared that graffiti is about to REALLY start showing up and spreading like an uncontrolled wildfire -- and will be the most frustrating problem that the city will be powerless over.

The only solution will be to have "graffiti crews" drive around the city at 6:00am, every morning and paint it over. (We have traffic enforcement for meters, trash collection and other city services...gonna have to add one more.)

TODAY, traffic was the MOST gridlock I have ever experienced. And as I was moving 5 miles an hour on the 10 freeway, I really started noticing all the new graffiti along the freeway. And with my foot on the brake for so much of the ride, I was able to snap a bunch of it on the ZumaCAM. But there was so much, I was only able to capture a fraction.

This was what I could catch during a couple exit stretch along the 10E to Grand Avenue exit Downtown Los Angeles.

The picture of the new parking meter splashed with yellow paint was taken from the same spot as the Hollenbeck Area van. (Ooops!) Like I said, gonna be hard to nip.

CALANDER CONFLICT: Jack Weiss To Appear at City Attorney Debate During His Own Rick Caruso-Thrown Fundraiser (Where DO you Go?)
![]() |
| From Zuma's Photo Gallery |
Glad I checked: Looks like Jackass will chicken out.
And of COURSE he will, on the heels of his boy Antonio Villaraiogsa's pension commissioner having to RESIGN over a Jack Weiss campaign fundraiser last week. (The commissioner shouldn't have been on the invitation and at the event fundraising for a City Councilmember running for City .Attorney. But they say it all starts at the top (leadership or lack thereof; integrity or corruption).
And we all know what kind of City Hall it is with the currently still un-indited mayor at the top. (Lack thereof, corruption.) So then why would you expect anything different out of Villaraigosa's hand appointed board commissioners? Or why would you expect anything else from Villar's hand-picked City Attorney candidate?
You would HOPE for leadership and integrity with billions in pension dollars at risk (which is what it was, at risk. See $7 BILLION pension loss for 2008.) But as Antonio's city hall is, Antonio's city hall does.
And Antonio wants Jack Weiss to be his City Attorney.
So two commissioners are under SEC investigation; and another one resigned over campaign fundraising for Jack Weiss, including a bunch of money from Weatherly investments, involved in the SEC flagging (where pension money was invested)...
SO OF COURSE JACK WEISS WILL NOT BE APPEARING AT TONIGHT'S DEBATE WITH CITY ATTORNEY candidate CARMEN TRUTANICH. And here's why:
Councilmember Weiss has a fundraiser for his City Attorney campaign to attend at the same time held by Rick Caruso, at his pad in Brentwood. And timing couldn't be more perfect:
a) Rick can raise a bunch of money to replace the money Jack Weiss has to give back over his un-ethical fundraising that forced his boss' (Villaraigosa) pension commissioner to have to RESIGN.
b) It give you a GREAT reason why you cannot be at the debate tonight, since Carmen Trutanich WILL be there. And you're no good when you have to speak at anything besides a camaign fundraiser, Jackass. You would have lost BEFORE the commissioner had to resign because of you. (Jack may show up at 8:45pm, but not for a debate with Carmen, just for his own forum.)
c) RICK CARUSO HAS A MIXED-USED, HIGH DENISTY project pending approval in a couple weeks before Los Angeles City Council. It's over there on Burton Way. Rick may want to tear down the existing billboards and put up his own. And there's talk that there may be a need for some waivers, variances and/or exemptions that only a guy who can throw a CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISER FOR A SITTING CITY COUNCILMEMBER CAN!!!
I hope Jack recuses himself from a vote if this is ttue. And I hope City Council votes yes or no based on the merit of this project as compliant with the city charter and all city, county and state laws; and not on the amount that Mr. Caruso raises for Anotnio's City Attorney candidate tonight.
I think it's about time for Councilmember Jack Weiss to recuse himself (step down) from his City Council seat until this election is over.
And if you do not want to vote for Villaraiogosa's hand-picked candidate in the City Attorney's office, VOTE FOR CARMEN TRUTANICH on May 19th.

One of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's pension board appointees stepped down Tuesday after The Times inquired about his involvement in a campaign fundraiser for City Councilman and city attorney candidate Jack Weiss -- an activity that violates the city's ethics law.
[Two other Villar's pension appointees are now being investigated by SEC over $7 BILLION police and fire pension losses in shady Wall Street investments, last year, that will force the city to the brink of bankruptcy in 2013.]
Kelly Candaele, who had been on the Los Angeles City Employees' Retirement System Board of Directors since 2005, was one of six hosts of the event Monday in Beverly Hills, according to the invitation.

The City Council voted in 2004 to bar city commissioners and board appointees from engaging in campaign fundraising activities, as a response to the investigations into appointees of then-Mayor James K. Hahn. The law prohibited those officials from calling contributors or appearing on fundraising invitations.
[ALRIGHT...STOP RIGHT HERE! Zuma Dogg CALLS for ALL the money that was raised at this fundraiser on Monday in Beverly Hills to be RETURNED! Why? People showed up and donated money because you had a (formerly) respected City of Los Angeles Mayoral Board Appointee on the invitation. KINDA an endorsement and a cause to show up to the event to meet the (formerly) honorable L.A. City Board of Directors member. SO THIS MEANS, NAMES OF ALL THE CONTRIBUTORS AT THE EVENT THAT EVENING NEED TO BE DISCLOSED; THE MONEY NEEDS TO BE RETURNED; AND MAY NOT BE RE-CONTRIBUTED. Release the names Jack, return ALL the money from that evening since it was based on an ethics violation.]
Roughly four hours after The Times asked Villaraigosa's office about the event, Candaele submitted his resignation letter, saying he had put his name on the invitation by mistake. "Although I did not raise or contribute any political funds, this is inconsistent with the ethics pledge I signed when appointed to serve," he wrote.
[HE PUT HIS NAME ON THE INVITATION BY MISTAKE??? NO WONDER THESE VILLARAIGOSA-APPOINTED PENSION INVESTORS LOST $7 BILLION ON WALL STREET LAST YEAR! THEY MAKE DUMB, DUMB, STUPID MISTAKES. (If you believe his bullsh*t reply that it was "by mistake." Oh, Boo-hoo-hoo...it's not his fault: The Pension Investing Board of Director make a boo-boo. HIS BAD!]
Two other hosts of Weiss' fundraiser hold positions with Wetherly Capital, a company that has promoted investing opportunities to two city pension boards, including the one on which Candaele served. Wetherly, known in industry circles as a "placement agent," has become a subject of interest in recent weeks for investigators looking into allegations of kickbacks at the New York state pension fund.
[Ah ha! No wonder all these Villaraigosa-appointed pension investors are funneling so much money into Jack Weiss' City Attorney campaign. They NEED Jack to win so he can keep their tracks covered. Except, TOO LATE...the SEC is looking into it now...LOL! REMEMBER...LACERS (city employee pension fund) lost SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS last year on Wall Street AND NOW, the SEC is looking into it. And I've heard it's called "pay to play" and is gonna bring down a few folks inside and connected to City Hall.]

Weiss, who is running to replace City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo in the May 19 election, will give back roughly $20,000 raised from Monday's event, said his campaign consultant Ace Smith. "Jack Weiss believes that his campaign must be held to the highest standards," Smith said in a statement.
[Is that $20,000 ALL the money from everyone who contributed at this ethics violating event, or just Villar-appointee? HEY GREAAAAAAAT...Villaraigosa appoints these clown ass turkey commissioners, who knows WHO they paid off to get the contracts, they invest fire and pension money in shady bullshit risky (shill) companies that TANKED; THEN, after Villar appoints them, they funnel money to Jack Weiss. WHO SAYS WEISS AND VILLARAIGOSA AREN'T TODAY'S "BONNIE & CLYDE?" (Or "Bonnie & Bonnie.")]
Weiss' opponent, Carmen Trutanich, said the councilman should have known better and took action only after getting caught. "He got caught with his hand in the cookie jar," he said.
Top advisors to the mayor, upon learning of the violation, requested that Candaele submit his resignation, a Villaraigosa aide said. In a statement, the mayor described Candaele as an upstanding leader who made "an honest mistake."
[NO, it was a DIS-honest mistake. ARE YOU TELLING ME NO ONE KNEW THE DIFFERENCE??? THESE ARE THE TOP LEADERS OF THE CITY...WHO LOST SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS, ARE NOW BEING INVESTIGATED BY SECURITY AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION, ARE FUNNELING MONEY TO JACK WEISS CAMPAIGN...AND EVERYONE SOUNDS LIKE MR. MAGOO!!! NO WONDER THE CITY IS CERTAIN TO BE DECLARING BANKRUPTCY IN 2013!]
Weiss' fundraiser occurred just days after The Times reported that two other Villaraigosa pension board appointees, Sean Harrigan and Elliott Broidy, had received letters from the Securities and Exchange Commission seeking information on any income they have received from companies doing business with their agency. They serve on the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions board. The SEC also asked Broidy and Harrigan for information on their communications with Wetherly and two other companies linked to the New York pension probe.
New York Atty. Gen. Andrew Cuomo filed an indictment last month against onetime New York pension official and political consultant Henry Morris. Wetherly and the firm Morris worked for, Searle & Co., have shared fees for deals at three major pension funds in California. Wetherly representatives said the firm is cooperating with investigators.
The Weiss fundraiser was at the home of Richard Ziman, an unpaid advisor to Wetherly Capital. Ziman and his wife were listed as hosts, along with Wetherly's managing director, Dan Weinstein. A Wetherly representative said Weinstein did not attend the event.
Weinstein and other Wetherly employees have contributed $54,700 to city candidates since 2002, including at least $1,500 to Weiss, according to the city Ethics Commission. Wetherly clients have contributed at least $12,750 to Weiss.
[See...all the clowns who just lost $7 BILLION in a pay-to-play Wall Street scandal; who are now being investigated by SEC over the biggest financial bamboozle-bankruptcy loss IN CITY HISTORY...AND MOST LIKELY U.S. HISTORY -- ARE BACKING JACK WEISS FOR CITY ATTORNEY!!!]
A day after attending the fundraiser, Candaele voted with colleagues to require that placement agents be identified when representing firms seeking contracts with the City Employees' Retirement System.
[A day late and $7 billion dollars SHORT to cover up with your certain to be caught up in the SEC investigation puppet city attorney candidate.]
Wetherly spokesman Daniel DelRe said Tuesday that he didn't immediately have names of firms Wetherly represented before the city employees' pension board since 2006. Companies listed as clients on Wetherly's website have secured multimillion-dollar commitments from the board in recent years. It was not clear if Wetherly helped get those deals.
Candaele said that he wasn't sure whether he had met with Wetherly managers on city business but that his support for Weiss was "totally unrelated" to the firm.
[Again, no one is sure...everyone is making an honest mistake...no one did ANYTHING wrong and NO ONE will be carried away in FEDERAL handcuffs over the pension investigation. And it has NOTHING to do with grocery store investments, or the former Ralphs grocery owner (Ron B.) and Ari Swiller is feeling totally Zen, and none of this will tie back to Jack Weiss or Antonio Villaraigosa, and Villar's gubenetorial dreams are not only completely over at this point. And I didn't tell you so about any corruption with pension commissioners and didn't feel the pension investments were THE BIGGEST thing going on in the city that turned out to be bigger than a $50,000 lactation class.
